Chapter 012 THE WEIGHT OF DISAPPOINTMENT

Leah's POV

I woke up, the soft morning light filtering through the curtains, still groggy from sleep, my mind drifts back, to the night before, to that intimate moment shared with Damian.

The memory, like a delicate whisper, weaves through my thoughts, casting a soft smile upon my lips. But quickly I snapped out of it.

Why am I even smiling, everything that went down last night, doesn't mean a thing. Sure, we had a blast, but it doesn't mean there's something more.

I just woke up feeling unexpectedly cheerful. I attempted to hide it but I couldn't

I rubbed my eyes, trying to shake off the haze of sleep. When I opened them again, I saw Nana already there, waiting for me to wake up, just like always.

I wasn't surprised anymore, it felt normal. I'm getting used to her being here, and I realized that I needed to get used to it if I was going to continue staying here.

I'm still not sure about staying here, to be honest. I'm trying to make sense of everything, why did Damian help me? why
