"Now I know why he left me, I am a coward, I can't even take my life, I can't do anything worthwhile", I told the air, shamefully. I attempted to move away from the edge but my leg slipped. My hands were flaying, my eyes bulging, a scream Lodged in my throat, refusing to be let out, fear held me in his grip. "Is this it?", I thought, as I watched the edge on which I once stood get farther and farther away from me, my life unfolding before me. I forced my eyes close, deciding to accept my fate, I mean, I had no other option then I stopped. I stopped falling and from the pull on my leg, I guess, it wasn't my supernatural strength surfacing because I was dying. I tried opening my eyes to see my savior but at that moment, those hands pulled me up roughly and I banged my head against the walls and blanked out. After sacrificing everything for love, Leah's world shattered when her husband's betrayal left her lost and pregnant. Rescued from the brink of despair by a mysterious stranger, she's given a second chance. But as dark rumors surround her savior, Leah wonders: has she escaped the darkness or merely traded one shadow for another?"

Sitting in this same chair, reminiscing about the last time I was in this room two years ago. I had avoided hospitals since then, haunted by them. "Mrs, are you listening?", the doctor's voice broke through my thoughts, his voice calm as ever. "Oh yes" I replied with a smile Sure that he had my total attention, he sat down on his seat and placed a file before him. " Ma'am, I am here with your test results and it's a miracle", he said, smiling. Suspicious, I asked, "What's a miracle, doctor? The crazy pain that I am feeling? Because that is not feeling miraculous". He chuckled, opened the file, and flipped it towards me so I could see what was written on the page he opened to. I stared until my eyesight became hazy and teary then I looked back up at the doctor. His smile was wider but I couldn't move my lips to utter a word. "Can you explain what I am seeing?", I finally asked. "You are pregnant. That is the only explanation", he answered. A cold shiver ran down my spine as those words came out of his mouth, I sat there, staring at the positive pregnancy test in my trembling hands, time seemed to stand still. A rush of emotions flooded over me, like a tidal wave crashing against the shore. Excitement bubbled up within me, mingling with disbelief and sheer joy. "What! You are joking, right? Don't play with me, doctor?" I said as I closed my eyes, trying to absorb the reality of it all. "You are pregnant ma'am, those are your test result" "But the last time I was here, you said I couldn't get pregnant", I asked again, hesitant to be happy, my head spinning. "Sorry, I didn't say you can't get pregnant. I said you had slim chances of getting pregnant but what your body did with those chances is amazing. Congratulations", the doctor said, standing up with his hands outstretched. I couldn't take his hands, I couldn't stop staring at the file, my mouth opened, my brain slow and when it finally caught up, tears filled up my eyes and began to fall on the paper. Images of tiny fingers and toes, sweet baby giggles, and sleepless nights filled my mind. I couldn't help but imagine the life growing within me, the precious soul that would soon call me "mom". Aiden and I have been married for four years, but our union has yet to be blessed with a child. Although Aiden outwardly appears unconcerned, I sense a deep-seated desire for an heir to succeed him as Alpha of the Shadowfell pack, one of the largest and most powerful packs in the country. Without an heir, his leadership would be perceived as vulnerable. Despite this, Aiden's love and devotion to me remain unwavering, and he has never pressured me about our childlessness. His unconditional acceptance was a significant factor in my decision to forsake my inheritance and disown my family when they opposed our union. I knew that Aiden and I were destined to be together, a bond confirmed by the moon goddess herself, who had chosen me as his mate. '"So, I am pregnant, I am a complete woman", I whispered and then stood up, totally disregarding the doctor, and left the room. Everything felt unreal, my hands unconsciously went to my belly, the once blinding pain now welcoming. I breathed differently, I walked better and weirdly, and I left the hospital, different from the way I went in, more purposely. "Four whole years of waiting...I need to tell Aiden, I need to show him that I am a whole woman.", that's the only thought that was in my head as I got into the car. I tried calling Aiden but his line wasn't going through, so I called his office and his secretary told me he left for home. My driver looked concernedly at the look on my face but I ignored and told him, more like commanded him to drive me home and he did. When I got home, I was still in my bubble, unaware of anyone but my need to talk to Aiden I didn't notice the weird looks from the staff. I got to our room and pushed the door open, revealing Aiden and... Wait!! A woman? Another woman!! With Aiden? The questions swirled in my head as I watched them kiss so passionately, with Aiden's hands all over her, the same hands that were all over me last night. My bubble bursted as I walked into the room and screamed "What's the hell is going on here? Aiden, what are you doing with her? Who is she?" As with all the drama that goes on in movies, this would be the part where the man pushes off the other woman and starts begging his wife but it didn't play out like that. The woman turned to look at me, disgust written so clearly on her face before slowly, taking her sweet time to get off my husband's body and Aiden looked so mesmerized by her every movement. "Fix this mess", she said, kissing my husband on the cheeks before striding out of the room, rudely brushing me. Aiden turned to face me, he didn't beg, he just stared at me, without remorse, without any emotions and I was scared. I walked up to him, anger fueling my movement, making my voice shrill as I shouted out my questions. "Who is she? Who is she Aiden? Aiden, answer me?" "Oh, please shut up bitch", a man that sounds a lot like my husband, looks a lot like my husband but is not my husband said. " Aiden?", I called out, totally confused. "What Leah? Surprised to see another woman treating me like I deserve", the stranger bellowed out. Still, in disbelief, I walked over to him and held his shirt, shaking him "Aiden, don't say that, please. You know I love you, right? I know you love me, we are mates destined to be together" "So please, explain to me what going on? Tell me, Aiden, tell me anything, I would understand". I know I am sounding desperate but I can't help it. Nothing is making sense anymore, especially my husband. I continued shaking him, with my tears falling onto his face until he pushed me, forcefully. I fell to the ground and my hands went instinctively towards my stomach. Remembering the good news I had rushed home to tell me, I burst into tears and it was full-on ugly crying. Aiden stood up and turned to look at me with disgust and my heart got torn into pieces, " I don't want you anymore Leah, I am sure what you saw made it pretty obvious" "I disowned my family for you Aiden, I threw my inheritance just to be with you_" "I never asked you to do all these, those were your choices" he shot back at him, his face devoid of any emotion. At that moment, I wished I had listened to my family when they refused me to get married to him. Love clouded my head, I was blinded to all his flaws and I fought against my family. Running away from them into Aiden's arms, cutting them off to form my own family with Aiden. Now I am here with the shell of a man that I love, that I sacrificed everything for, and know that my time is up. My wailing increased as I crawled towards him, hoping to beg him to let me stay, to make everything alright. I heard him bellow out my driver's name. I got to him and held his leg but he forcefully dragged his legs away and walked away from me. I tried going to him again but I felt this sharp pain and I hastily lay down, hoping my baby was safe. The driver came into the room looking all confused. "Aiden I went to the doc_" "From this day onward, you cease to be my Luna, I REJECT YOU." I heard my husband destroy the remnants of my heart.LEAH'S POVSix months had passed. A lot had changed, and yet, some things remained the same. Life had found its way back into a semblance of balance. The house Delilah had destroyed, the one that had once been my sanctuary, had been rebuilt. Stronger. More beautiful. Every corner of it now seemed to hold new memories, new beginnings. The order that had been disrupted, the chaos that had once engulfed us, was now settling into a rhythm. Things were finally coming together.Damian had come so far in his healing, both physically and emotionally. Each day, I saw him growing stronger, more like the man he was before the war, before everything. He had taken on the responsibility of being the head of the hybrids, and with that came a weight that I knew he carried heavily. But he bore it with grace. His training had become more intense, more focused. I could see the fire in his eyes, the determination to protect our family, to protect everything we had worked so hard for.And the way, he
DAMIAN'S POVPain. It was the first thing I noticed when my eyes fluttered open. A dull, unrelenting ache radiated through my body, each breath a reminder of something I couldn't yet remember. I blinked slowly, my vision swimming as I tried to make sense of my surroundings. White walls. The steady beeping of machines. A faint antiseptic smell. Where was I?My mind felt clouded like a thick fog had settled over it, obscuring everything I needed to grasp. Panic threatened to rise, but before I could gather my thoughts, I heard hurried footsteps. The sound grew louder, then closer—someone was running toward me.Before I could react, a body collided with mine with force, wrapping me in a tight, trembling embrace. The jolt sent a shock through my already fragile body, but I didn't care. The moment her scent hit me, everything stilled.Leah.I knew her before my eyes fully adjusted before my arms instinctively rose to wrap around her. Her warmth, her softness, the way she seemed to melt in
LEAH'S POV"Please," I whispered, my voice trembling, eyes wide with desperation. "Repeat what you just said."The doctor, hesitant but resolute, cleared his throat. "Your children's blood," he began slowly, his tone deliberate, "it might be the only way to save Damian. Their blood has unique properties that could help them heal. They are hybrids, the only ones of their kind. It's uncharted territory, but—""No." my voice was sharp, slicing through the doctor's explanation. The doctor faltered. "What?""No," I repeated, my tone steadier this time, though my body shook. "I won't do it. I won't use their blood."The doctor's face crumpled in confusion. " Miss Leah, this is Damian's life we're talking about. Don't you want him to live?"Tears welled up in my eyes, but my resolve held firm. "Of course I do. I want Damian alive more than anything. But I've seen what that blood does. It doesn't heal. It doesn't bring people back to life in the way you think. It changes them—turns them into
LEAH'S POVIt had been a month. Thirty long days since I'd given birth to our twins. Thirty long days since Damian had slipped into a coma. Thirty long days since Damian was brought back almost dead into this pack. The air in the room where he lay was heavy with the scent of antiseptic, and the low hum of machines filled the silence. I sat beside his bed as I had every day since the battle. My babies were safe at home, cared for by a trusted nurse, while I spent hours here, speaking to Damian as though he could hear me."They're growing so fast, you know," I said softly, my fingers brushing against his cold hand. "Our babies. They've got your nose. Both of them. And the way they look at me... sometimes, it feels like they know something I don't."I leaned back in the chair, staring at his still form. "I haven't named them yet," I admitted, my voice catching in my throat. "How could I? We said we'd do it together. The few people we know keep asking me what I'll call them, and I don't h
LEAH'S POVThe first thing I noticed was the stillness—the kind that wasn't comforting but left me disoriented. My eyelids felt heavy, my body weak, but I forced myself to blink, to focus on the dimly lit room around me. The sterile scent of the room hit me next, and for a moment, I didn't understand why I was there. Then it all came rushing back. The complications. The delivery. The pain that had consumed me until everything went black.I tried to sit up, but my body protested, and I fell back against the pillows with a groan. My hand instinctively moved to my stomach, now flat and empty. Panic surged through me as I scanned the room. There was no sound of crying, no crib, no sign of the babies I had fought so hard to bring into this world."Where... where are my babies?" I raised my voice barely a whisper. One of my maids appeared by my side, her smile warm but cautious. "Calm down, miss. Your babies are safe.""Safe?" I repeated, my voice trembling. "I want to see them. Please, whe
Damian's POVA wave of exhaustion washed over me, and I realized I was badly injured; every movement felt like a monumental effort. My body was heavy, weighed down by fatigue and pain as if the fight had drained every ounce of strength from me.Then, amidst the chaos, my phone began ringing, I scanned the room frantically, my eyes darting around, searching for it. It had fallen during our brutal struggle, and as I caught sight of it lying on the floor, I gritted my teeth and dragged myself toward it.Finally, I reached the phone and picked it up, my fingers trembling. As I picked up the call.Immediately I picked up the call; it was Clinton."Hello, master," he said from the other end, his voice steady yet tinged with urgency."Please tell me how the plan worked," I replied, my curiosity piqued. My heart raced, pounding in my chest like a war drum, and every sense was on high alert, straining to catch his response. Clinton paused for a moment, and I could hear the faint sound of rust
Damian's POVThe air was electric with tension as Delilah and I faced off in the office. The once-sterile space was now a battleground, with papers scattered everywhere and furniture overturned. Delilah's eyes gleamed with malevolence as she sneered at me, her long nails extended like razor-sharp claws."You think you can defeat me, Damian?" she taunted, her voice dripping with contempt. "I am the most powerful being on this earth."With a fierce battle cry, Delilah charged at me, her nails swiping through the air with deadly precision. I dodged and weaved, avoiding her blows by mere inches. But Delilah was relentless, her attacks coming faster and faster until I stumbled backward, desperate to escape her wrath. She pinned me to the wall, her nails digging deep into my skin. I gritted my teeth, trying to bear the pain, but Delilah just laughed, her eyes glinting with sadistic pleasure."You should have stayed out of this, Damian," she hissed, her breath cold against my ear. "Now, you
Damian's POVOf course, I had to be smart about this. I couldn't just attack Mr President in front of all these important people. The tension in the air was thick, and I could feel the weight of their gazes, a mix of fear and uncertainty. We were already crammed into a room, and guards were scattered everywhere, their eyes scanning for any signs of danger, ready to protect us from the relentless zombies lurking outside.Hade was with the zombies. I had sent some other werewolves to assist him, I couldn't just lash out at the president. I knew deep down that this wasn't the real president, but the others didn't know. I took a deep breath, steeling myself as I moved closer to Cyril, my heart pounding in my chest. I tapped him lightly on the shoulder. He turned to face me, confusion etched on his face, his eyes wide. "Go and find the president," I ordered, my voice steady despite the chaos swirling around us. His eyes darted between me and the figure of the president sitting not too
Damian's POVI turned to Clinton, my eyes blazing with anticipation. "Tell them to start the plan immediately," I instructed, my voice low and urgent.Clinton's expression turned serious, his eyes locking onto mine. He nodded curtly, his face set in a determined mask. "We have planned this meticulously," I continued, my tone dripping with confidence. "We will create noise, distract them, and draw those zombies to the fire like moths to a flame."A hint of a smile played on Clinton's lips as he grasped the scope of our plan. "Right away," he said, his voice firm and resolute. With a slight bow, he turned and strode away.Immediately after Clinton left, I blended in seamlessly, as if I were part of the important people gathered there. We moved through the crowd with an air of casual confidence, engaging in light conversation with those around us, all the while keenly observing everything. My heart raced with the thrill of the deception; we couldn't afford to let our guards down, not f
