Chapter 2
An early morning. The birds are chirping. A cold wind. Then a man in his pajamas still lying on his bed, enjoying the embrace of his own blanket. Sleeping soundly. Then his alarm clock suddenly rings and wakes him up.
Time check, 5:00 am. Masyado pang maaga.
He is not just an attorney with only just his intelligence but also with its look. He is breathtakingly handsome in every angle and in everything he wore.
Nakadagdag pa dito ang kaniyang pagiging seryoso. Ilap sa mga babae ang nasabing abogado. He is not into relationships.
He is now in his 30's. They broke up five years ago exactly the same year that accident happened. They broke up for some unknown reasons.
Jogging in place.
He looks so hot on his sweats dripping down his well-toned body.
He even enrolled in a martial art class while studying law for self-defense.
Delikado ang kursong kinukuha niya at ang trabahong gustong pasukin nito. And he cannot let himself defenseless in any situation.
So as much as he can, he will do everything for the justice to prevail. And he cannot do that if he won't help himself to survive in this dangerous journey and keep surviving despite the dangers that is bound to happen in the future.
Rachel Santiago:
The moving statue is already here.
Rachel Santiago:
Talk to you later. Para tayong sira nito.
Bea Alfonso:
Right. Talk to you later, then.
He is not really fond of filipino time. Strikto ito pagdating sa oras. He is rather early in court than being late.
She breathed a relieve air like it is her first time breathing after being drown in the middle of the deep sea and finally rescued.
She treats him like a superior. A man who is higher than them in terms of position in court, which he really is. Mas nauna kasi ito sa kanilang dalawa.
Kaya kahit pareho silang attorney sa iisang firm at iisang opisina. They cannot denied attorney Collins's supremacy in court.
Kapag kalokohan talaga e no? "Sabagay, attorney Collins and his intimidating aura." she nodded in agreement.
Nobody is in there yet.
He mastered the art of remembering. He is good at remembering things. And sometimes, it is a bad thing to be good at.
But not him, it is a curse for him.
Nakakapagod.
But he cannot. He was stucked in his past.
For how many years of experiencing that, he learned how to handle them. If he cannnot get rid of them, then be above them atleast, he thought. To control or be controlled by your past is the only choice for him to keep living. And he did not choose the latter.
He learned to live above them. Above his illness called hyperthemsia. It was hard. But he got used to it.
"Should we plead guilty?" pag-uumpisa ni Doc. Raven
"Should we?" pagsasang-ayon ni Doc. Adler.
"How about the reputation of the hospital?" pag-kontra ni Doc. Kim
"We can win the case." pampalubag-loob ni Doc. Jaro
"Yes. We should. Sebastian
"What if we plead guilty to receive a lesser punishment?" Doc. Arvi encouraged.
A moment of silence. Arvi. Hindi makapaniwalang binalingan nila ito ng tingin.
"Are you crazy?"
It rendered them speechless.
Attorney Collins on the other hand, sat comfortably in his seat.
He is not that someone who sneeze its nose for other people's businesses.
The atmosphere feels kind of suffocating to them. But the plaintiff attorney does not even care.
"An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth".
They are eager to put the doctors in jail. Or had their medical license revoke at the very least.
They trusted them. They entrusted the life of their children knowing that they are in good hands. But the doctors killed their only hope the moment their children stop breathing.
"Finally!" attorney Collins uttered mentally.
Chapter 3 The three judges walked mightily amidst the chaos. They settled themselves in their assigned seats. The protesting outside the law firm days ago became the talk of the town. It spread like a wild fire. It caught the media's attention. It even featured in media news. The protest paved way to public trials. It known to be discussed in public to finally put end to the rumors. Bridgestone Medical Center's involvement is like a fuel to the fire. Imagine the power it holds. Bridgestone Medical Center is not just an ordinary hospital. They are not just treating known illnesses but also unknown and newly discovered disease. It is rare that market doesn't have treatment or any medicine for it yet. Bridgestone Medical Center
Chapter 4 "Yes, Your Honor!" sabay na saad ni attorney Collins at attorney Lucas. "Proceed." Maayos ang tindig ni attorney Collins. Nag-uumapaw sa otoridad ang presensiyang dulot nito. "So in September 13, 2020, a multiple surgeries happened in Bridgestone Medical Center. Six patients to be exact, undergone surgeries under great doctors," huminto muna saglit si attorney Collins at bahagyang tiningnan isa-isa ang anim na magagaling na doktor. "An unsuccessful operation," dugtong nito. There was a long pause of silence until... attorney Collins broke the ice. "Looking back, as I visited the house of the ber
Chapter 5"Attorney Lucas Winterlake. I'm glad to finally meet you... again, attorney."His forehead creased. He turned his back and faced attorney Lucas.
This time, he took the defense side. They talked with each other through phone call. This is how their conversation went, a week ag
Attorney Collins is confident in his case as he always do. Sapul at walang mintis. He can attract the culprit just using his logical mind. Without giving them the chance to notice what he is up to. He can play a game without being involved. He was just simply controlling their minds. He is watching them. He is good at that. Even if he is not actually involved in the game, he can still foresee each opponent's next move and the outcome of the game even
Chapter 8 Two days had passed when attorney Collins finally gathered all the evidences he needed for his upcoming case. The group of people gathered inside the court as they witnessed how the justice system works when attorney Collins is present. Maingay at may kaniya-kaniyang konklusiyon ang bawat isa. They have their own idea of him— Mr. Meldred Luis. They already seen him as the culprit of the crime. Without knowing the real story. They already paint him as the bad guy. Judging him only by the small part they witnessed. Without seeing the other side of the angle.
As usual, he won the case. His client proven guilty. At the end of the day, he received a lot of compliments and recognitions from his colleagues for doing such a great job. No one really knows who the real culprit is. And attorney Collins successfully found him. The turn of events is quite unexpected. It received a loud applause from the audience. Who would think that the culprit is just one them? For days, he enjoyed his freedom walking around. While Mr. Luis suffered in his stead. Nakayuko
But he was wrong. Then a memories from his past came flashing to his mind. Same place. Same scenario. Isang babaeng maiksi ang buhok, naka-eyeglasses habang kaharap ang isang lalaki. She was not nerd nor a dumb looking lady.
Chapter 26"I thought we are here to talk things out, not to get you drunk," Attorney Grey Collins lectured, as he snatched the glass of whiskey out from Attorney Phoebe Quinnʼs grip."You won't understand," Attorney Quinn responded, trying to snatched back the whiskey she was drinking but Attorney Collins was too quick to notice so he moved it out of her reach."Then, let me understand," he fought, still holding the glass away from her reach. His voice was too gentle that you cannot detect irritation in it."Talk to me. Explain it to me," he asked."Let me understand, hmm?" he uttered trying to convince her to open up."It wasn't that easy!" she shouted as tears started to poured down from her poor little eyes.Attorney Collins nodded understandingly and drop the case. He is trying to be the big man here. He knew it wasn't the case Attorney Quinn is trying to convey, she didn't mean to shout at him. He knew, it was perhaps the alcoholʼs doing and he was trying hard to ignore it.He s
Chapter 25“Are we all set now?” the middle-seat-judge asked. "If yes, then can I request the attorney of the both partys to step forward?" he added."Yes, Your Honor!" Attorney Collins and Attorney Quinn answered in unison."As we start our court session today, I'm expecting you both to do your best. You may not be in the same page but you can still work in line of your job description. To uncover the truth and let the justice prevail," the middle-seat-judge paused as he eyed both of the judges to warn them to not do stupid things."I'm rooting for the both of you. Together, let's solve this case and finally put an end to it..." he announced.Citizens were all gathered around to witness how the court will give its conviction. This case was long overdue, a lot of people lives got tangled with this case and ended up being framed up and worst, killed. As a public court servant, their aim is to let the people live in peace. Not to be anxious everyday of what danger could be waiting for t

But Attorney Collins never feel threaten
Chapter 21“Nah, he cannot do that. Suicide, really? That's absurb!” Treton exclaimed as a matter of fact.He just cannot grasp the idea of Mr. Aaron doing that, if ever. Nakasama niya ito sa loob ng ilang taon and without any doubts, they can confidently say that he cannot do that or rather not to. He was not a man like that, the Mr. Aaron they knew despised that idea the most.“He loves his life too much. He even gave us an earful one time when we were too close on giving up on our lives,” Cheska butted in, after being silent for a long time. She stated it smiling as she vividly recalled what happened in the past, how Mr. Aaron Lee lectured them when he was still alive. She remembered it crystal clear like it only happened yesterday. Those kind of memories are one of a kind, a rare memories that is worth keeping.
Chapter 20“Good day, Mr. Lee! Glad to finally meet you,” Attorney Collins greeted.Kasalukuyan silang nasa loob ng interrogation room and it was the first time they met to talk about the case. Palapit na rin kasi ang kaso kaya kailangan nilang mag-usap dalawa para makagawa na ng plano.“Nice to meet you too, Attorney Grey Collins. I heard about you a lot,” balik na bati ni Mr. Lee. He was returning the favor, he treated Attorney Collins with respect and someone he looked up to.Mr. Lee was on his jail uniform, he is still under the police custody until he is not yet proven innocent and not guilty. Just until then, they held him captive.Attorney Collins nodded.“About the case... Mr. Winston gave me a short briefing about your situation,” Attorney Collins paused as he wander his eyes around, being careful not to be heard by someone. Their case is confidential and the informat
On the other hand, Mr. Winston was on his phone... probably calling his most trusted staff to take care of the restaurant while he is still not around. Ms. Maggie, his cashier and his most trusted staf
Their own way to acknowledge each other's presence. The man who came just minutes ago didn't wear his usual attire. He was currently on disguise to hide his identity for some reason. They cannot take the risk to reveal his identity in the midst of situation they were in at baka ikapahamak niya pa ito.
