"Jess-"

"What did you do?" Jess asked, while staring at Luna with his big, curious eyes.

Her heart skipped.

Luna shook her head repeatedly. She shook it so hard, an intense headache surged sideways. The blood and lifeless bodies that laid across the floor were messing with her head.

"You're my boyfriend Jess, you know I can't do this," she tried convincing the fierce looking Jess, who looked like he could kill her at that point. He really could, if he wanted.

Unlike the expression on her face, Luna's mind was in turmoil. Walking into Jess's apartment, only to see his parents dead, with a knife stuck in his mother's flat belly.

At first, she had been shocked and petrified as she stared at the multiple gash on their body. It was brutal, that she had staggered in disbelief and on impulse, raced to the body of his mother and pulled the knife out, while shaking her cold and rigid figure.

It was at that moment, Jess had walked in. He too ran to his parent's body, shaking it as if he couldn't believe the sight before him.

The shock of Luna's life had happened right in front of her. Jess turned to Luna accusingly, glaring at the knife still in her grip.

"What did you do?" Jess inquired again harshly, he blinked severally to hold back the tears that pooled around his eyes.

"Jess, I walked in on them this way. I swear, I don't know what you're talking about." Luna dropped the knife, like it had burnt her. She parted her lips to assure Jess of her innocence, when he nodded like he understood.

"I know," Jess muttered, still shaking his head.

Luna breathed out in partial relief.

"But, the cops wouldn't."

Luna wasn't exactly the smart type, hence why it took her some seconds to understand what his words meant. When she finally understood, she gasped and moved back from Jess.

"What do you mean? Jess, you-"

The siren of the police started blaring faintly. Luna shook her head again, ignoring the headache this time.

"Jess, you said that you understood. You know I can't do this," Luna tried convincing Jess, but when she looked into her boyfriend of six months' eyes, she knew things were wrong. His blue eyes were surprisingly shining with a glint of mischief. The urge to smack the expression off his face, overcame her.

"When did you call the cops? You had no idea until now," Luna said, while squinting her eyes at Jess.

Jess merely chuckled lightly, while crossing his arms against his flat chest. He leaned against the cold wall, mentally counting down the seconds before the cops burst through the open door.

"Did I not?" Jess sneered, and let out a mischievous laughter. At that moment, he looked like a villain. A dangerous one.

The sirens were louder then. Luna breathed heavily, knowing what was next. Her face contorted into that of hate. She wanted to kill him, but that would have to wait, he had the upper hand now. She thought and glared hard.

She staggered forward, and made to grab his collar, but recalled that she had to do something...the cops were getting closer.

Without letting her emotions get to her, Luna glanced at the closed window, she had no idea how high it was, but she was ready to take the risk.

Before Jess could tell what she intended to do, Luna ran to the window and bolted it open. Jess's eyes widened, he raced towards her as she jumped down with a loud and dangerous thud.

"Crazy bitch!" He cursed, as he could hear footsteps run into the sitting room. The cops just had to come a second late.

"She jumped down this high window, she fucking jumped down!" He told them frantically, urging them to go after her.

Luna bit her lips so hard she drew blood, her left leg hurt so much she could barely lift it. She leaned against the wall and breathed out heavily, the pain making her eyes water.

"We need to find her!"

Jess' agitated voice got to her. She took a sharp breath, before limping to a nearby bush. Passing through the bushes could help her avoid the police.

Luna continued to take small steps, while stopping at intervals to tend to her hurt leg. She looked back and fell to the floor, unable to hold back her whimper of pain. Something she rarely did.

"Get your ass up!" Luna urged herself.

"You're not weak, you need to escape so you can plunge a dagger into that lying skull of his." She completed and let out a loud sigh.

She ran her fingers into the pocket of her Jean trousers and retrieved her phone. There was only one person who could help her, even though she doubted if he was at the disposal to do anything at the moment, especially one that had to do with the police.

"I'm at Jess's apartment and the police are after me."

She knew that wasn't explanatory, but that was all she could get out in her disheveled state.

"Luna, what are you-"

Luna hurriedly hung up, when her sensitive ear caught sounds of running feet. She forced herself to stand, and began to limp.

Her injured leg seemed to be cooperating, as she felt herself running faster than before.

But, the feet were catching up on her. Luna thought for a while, before dropping into a crutch in a deep bush she wouldn't normally stay in.

The thick shrubs masked her small figure well, she breathed out again, her heart thumping against her chest.

The feet came to a stop before her, turning slowly and observing the area.

"I know you are here!" A broken voice broke off the silence.

Luna recognized the voice, it was that of Jess. She wanted to come out and confront him, or better still strangle him before the authorities arrived, but she knew better than to do that.

"I will find you!" The voice sounded more broken, more like frustrated.

Luna remained hidden, she would find him instead, and make him regret turning her life drastically.

From a random pickpocket - to a murderer on the run. Yes, her life was perfect! She bit her lips angrily.

Luna wasn't really one to break down in such kind of situation, she was used to running and hiding, hence why she remained well covered by the shrubs.

She could see Jess' silhouette and his large feet decorated with muds from the damp soil.

Her eyes narrowed threateningly, when those horrendous feet began to move towards her hiding place. She tried her hardest to stay still and not make any sound, but the need to face the situation in her was eating and clouding her senses.

The atmosphere was getting darker for her, even though the sun was still bright high up. Black dots were decorating her vision, courtesy to an empty stomach.

The market today was of no luck, everyone guided their wares, leaving no room for Luna to snuggle some breakfast.

"Should I come get you, or you will grace me yourself?" Jess's teasing voice echoed once again.

It still baffled her - the sudden change in Jess personality. He was a complete stranger compared to the loving and caring boyfriend she knew.

Today, he was a monster, a monster who was framing her for his parents' murder.

When Jess's figure stared down at her, she knew she had to do something. Luna pulled herself up, and ran for the busy way against her will. She knew there was a high chance that the police had taken the highway to find her, but she was willing to take her chances.

Jess took after her immediately, Luna felt him, with each step he took, the ground thudded along with her.

The trees whooshed past her, until they both burst into the busy road.

All he needed to do, was to stretch his hands and Jess would grab on to her hair.

But, a car swerved and screeched loudly, halting before her. The passenger door opened and a brown haired man brought out his head and yelled.

"Get in!"

Luna didn't need to be told twice.

The hustle and bustle sound was drowned by the quietness of the secluded room he had brought her to.Miles was Luna's brother, the only family she had left."Brother I-" she winced, but he shut her up and continued rubbing her leg."I will kill that murderer. I will kill him for this!" Miles swore seriously. He pressed softly, while adding pressure at the pained region."How did you find me?" Luna changed the topic, the rage of her brother was something she had been avoiding, ever since she was a kid.Miles looked everywhere except for her after letting go of her leg. "It should be better now, you need rest."Luna sighed and leaned down on the armrest, refusing to think of what could have happened if her brother was even a second late. Of course, Jess would have handed her over to the police and that would have been the end of her. She doubted there was anything that would have been able to prove her innocence."How did you find me?

Miles was wrong, it wasn't a mansion, it was a community. Heck, Luna could even call it a town on its own. She stared wide eyed and completely amazed at the bustling. The securities were another thing to gawk at.Miles had a bike, in which they rode in with. Immediately the gate to the community parted, the heavily armed men at the entrance narrowed their eyes at the strange face which was Luna. She stared back. There was one peculiar thing Luna noticed - every single man there had a tattoo, similar ones. Even her brother did. It covered just the left part of their neck and it was quite interesting. A dagger, nothing unique, just a double end dagger with blunt spikes. Yeah, nothing unique.Luna was carried away with studying the ink, that she didn't notice the meaningful glances the men shared and an item Miles had withdrawn."What's that?" She inquired, with confusion written all over her face."A plaque. Without the tattoo, you can only be allowed in with this plaque." Miles expla

With each step, his face became clearer to Luna. She could see he had a five o'clock shadow and a tattoo that peeked through his open buttons. He was like a neat mess. His shirt was tucked halfway, his eyes were compelling and he never let it shift from her.Luna doubted if the courage she had to fix her eyes on him and patiently await his arrival was hers. It was probably the alcohol. Alexander was too intimidating to make you wanna stay in his presence. His shoes echoed as it hit the floor softly. Now that he was just a couple of feet away, Luna observed how his lips were shaped quite oddly; a prominent Cupid's bow and a deep dimple at the right corner of his lips. But it was feminine, curved naturally upward and its color could rival that of any woman out there.Luna was too caught in his facial features and how hot he was, she hadn't noticed he was now before her. Your personal one." Luna was saying things she didn't want to say, but she was loving it. She is confident, Alexander likes that. He darkened his eyes, trying to read her expressions. She wasn't joking, he could tell."You wouldn't last a day." Alexander said, pride evident in his voice. He was sure that this little girl wouldn't last a day with him. Nobody has."It's a challenge then."She walked out of the room, satisfied with herself."Ouch.." Luna exclaimed as she rubbed her forehead where it had come in contact with a really hard surface."Holy fuck." CHAPTER SEVEN Luna stared at Alexander, confusion written all over her face. Things were becoming real so fast and even though it is just her first day as Alex's maid, she is starting to rethink her decision. With her chin up and her head held high, she moved away from Alexander and said, "I am worthy to be your maid and you know that!" She sounded so confident, that she doubted if she really meant that. Alexander titled his head to a side, staring at her. He seemed surprised and impressed at the same time, but he decided to not let her know at all. He wanted her to suffer a bit. "Oh, really? Prove it then. Make another cup of coffee in-" he glanced down at his watch and slowly raised his head. "- in five minutes!" He completed and crossed his hands around his chest. Luna looked away from him for a second. How could she prepare a coffee in a matter of minutes, when she had never prepared it before? An evil smirk danced on Alexander's lips, he was happy to see her that way. He cle

CHAPTER EIGHT Luna backed away from Alexander with her eyes still fixed on him. She had tears in her eyes, but she didn't know why. Alex squinted his eyes at her, trying to move closer to her. "Did...you bite me?" She asked, while pressing her fingers against the red, painful spot. In response, Alex rolled his eyes and gripped her hand. "It's called a hickey, okay? You will get used to it, don't worry." With that, he released her hand and walked to the kitchen. Luna cleaned her dry face and walked after him. She didn't understand what he meant by saying she will get used to it, but she didn't ask. She knows that she would be better off not knowing what he meant by that statement. "Why are you here anyway...sir? I'm the maid here, I should be allowed to do my job." Luna called out, trying to meet up with his speed. Alex didn't say anything. Instead, he stopped in the kitchen and dismissed all the workers there. They all got out, but not before throwing scornful looks at Luna. She i

Her eyes were fixed on his face. She wondered how the most feared person in the whole mansion was kneeling right before her. It was weird and she didn't know how to feel about it. He started removing her footwears, helping her to stand up. "Are you okay?" He asked and settled his hand on her waist, trying to hold her in place. The injury wasn't serious, but it still hurt anytime her injured leg touched the bare floor. "Do you want me to carry you?" He asked and she slowly nodded. He bent a little and carried her in a bridal style, with his hands slightly below her butt. She was staring at him, as he walked to the bathroom. When they got to the bathroom, Luna's eyes widened. That was the most beautiful bathroom that she had ever seen and she wasn't even exaggerating. She felt like it was way too white for her and any mi

A night laterLuna After a few minutes of waiting patiently for her client, her heart once again leapt with joy for the nth time today when she saw Alex walking towards her with a new found bounce in his steps. He was wearing a fancy mask, one that accentuated his face and matched the colour of his dress shirt; and as soon as he saw her, he smiled. A bright smile. One that squeezed the sides of his eyes until tiny wrinkles showed there. “What do we start with?” She asked him quizzically. She wasn’t sure she had a choice here if he mentioned anything she couldn’t do but she still felt compelled to ask due to how good her mood was. “Do you want to discuss?” She noticed how he clicked his tongue at her question and even how his eyes shone in agreement; he liked the idea too, it was obvious that he did but he shook his head in negation; “No,” He said, making Luna halt in her steps as she turned to stare at him incredulously. “I’d want you to dance.” He added slowly. Deciding not to sit around aimlessly while the boredom ate into her like termites would to wood, she decided to take a walk around the house. With a bottle of liquor in her hands and a dagger in the other, she pranced about the house until she got to the picture gallery. This part of the house was the most serene… and the most beautiful as well. She admired each portrait, running her fingers deftly over each and every one as she went until she stopped at one. It was a painting which was depicting a picture of Zeke . The picture which had been a gift from him and which she had hated with intense passion stared back at her as she stared at it. “Ugly, ugly burnt out carrot!” She chanted, tapping on the surface of the portrait. For a minute, she wished she could rip out his eyes from the portrait and that it would really happen in real life too. She hated him that much. She stared pointedly at th

She picked up a bottle and poured some of it into her mouth, not bothering to grab one of the glasses staring at her. "I didn't see anything if that's what you're asking." She shuddered as she remembered the sight that had greeted her. Not something a sibling should have to see. But then Gabriel wasn't your typical sibling. He was her brother, yes but that was about it. It was only a matter of speaking. There was no emotional benefit attached. He treated her the way he treated his staff at work. The only thing he didn't do was ask her to blow his junk. It wouldn't surprise her if he did. He was a ruthless ** and a huge piece of work. "What did you find out?" "Oh of course, thank you for feeding me and clothing me and making me feel like myself and even for the warm silky bath, goodness knows how I would be if you hadn't interfered right?" Luna was being sarcastic and rude. "Now now." Gabriel walked closer to her and shook his head. "That's not the right way to talk to me now is it?" Gabriel asked her as he held her chin and looked at her. He gulped when he saw how pretty she was and how her nipples were. He had malicious thoughts. "Let me suggest this. There were some of her strippers clothes, they were on the floor. They seemed dirty and old too. The room smelt like it always did. It was more cold. The window hasn't been opened in months. The floor was dirty and messy. It seemed old and odd. The room was how she left it, nothing was removed or taken away. She sighed and rolled her eyes. "No one came here."
