CHAPTER FIVE

last update Last Updated: 2023-04-01 12:48:36

Luna didn't imagine she was going to spend the night in a dungeon.

The floor was hard and it creaked with each movement that she made. The cold was extreme and for the first time in her life, Luna regretted her decision. It didn't occur to her that she was going to spend the night in a dungeon, on a cold and hard floor.

After turning around the floor, she only managed to fall asleep when the door to the dungeon squeaked and she was roughly led out.

"Oh.. it's morning." Luna noted, dimming her eyes to fit the sudden light she was exposed to.

The guard sent her a displeased look, while still half dragging her across the hall.

"Where are you taking me?!" Luna bellowed, she winced at the pain that originated from his fingers digging into her skin.

"To the boss!" He replied with equal volume as she had spoken.

The boss. Her heart skipped a bit.

It skipped even harder, when she heard a scream behind a door and then, silence took over. It skipped the hardest, when the guard knocked once on the very door. She heard a voice usher them in before the guard dragged her inside.

The sight that greeted her, made bile build up in her throat.

The room smelt strongly of blood, which was apparent from the dead bleeding man, who sprawled lifelessly on the floor.

Then, there was Alexander! Standing tall as the last night she saw him, with his gun in his grip and blood battering his white shirt.

Luna dared to look into his eyes, the darkness held her captive. How passive his expression was and attractive every feature of him is. Damn.

"Here she is boss!" The guard called out, like Alexander hadn't noticed their presence - her presence.

She was thrown down on her knees, but Luna still held his gaze just like last night.

She saw the recognition flash across his face, he raised his gun and gestured for the guard to leave.

He bowed and disappeared.

The first thing Alexander said was, "you're not Christian's woman, are you?"

His voice was hoarse, thick and deep. It was a baritone and reverberated against the room.

Though he spoke in a low voice, it sent shivers down Luna's spine.

Luna narrowed her eyes in confusion, it then finally clicked! He remembered her from last night where Christian had saved her.

"No." She slowly answered, doubting her answer.

Alexander palmed his forehead and gritted his teeth, he murmured something about killing Christian before facing her again. He didn't believe her, she could tell.

"Why are you here?" He asked, through gritted teeth.

"To seek refuge." Luna curtly replied, still in a kneeling position. Her knees were starting to hurt. Badly.

"The torture room is just next door." Alexander crossed his legs, his dark eyes never left hers.

"I would have thought I'm in it now." She shrugged and let her eyes fall on the dead man beside her and the blood stained shirt Alexander had on.

A smirk danced across his lips. He was amused by how confident she was in his presence.

"You will be only if you don't speak the truth" He ignored her sarcasm. "Are you a spy?"

Unlike before, he cocked his gun slowly, the sound rang in Luna's ear and she knew there was no joking.

"No-"

"Take her to the torture room." Alexander calmly declared loudly to the guard, who was no doubt at the door.

The door swung open and the two guards at the entrance, marched towards her and grabbed her arms again.

"I'm sorry, boss. I brought her here, but she lost her way. I'll take her now, I promise not to let her cause anymore trouble and I apologize for any misunderstandings that happened." Christian burst through the door and bowed before Alexander. His eyes, not daring to look into Alex's.

Luna recognized him; his broad face and charming expression. He winked at her even though concern was written all over his face. Luna winked back.

"That's not gonna work again, Christian." Alexander lazily dismissed.

"Boss, she's with me-"

"I will kill you Christian-" He spoke as calmly as usual, but his voice was deadly. "-if I find out that you're lying. Trust me." Alexander completed, his voice making that sound like a threat.

But, it really was a threat. A deadly one.

Christian rubbed his nape sheepishly. Luna noticed unlike the guards, he only had respect for Alexander but not fear.

"Well, it's not completely a lie. I gave her the plaque she got in with."

Alexander sighed, he appeared to be so done with Christian. "Why?"

"Can I explain?"

"You may not-" Alexander glared harder "-I mean, yes."

Luna wanted to chuckle at Christian's nonchalant behavior. She loved his attitude already.

"She's accused of her boyfriend's parent's murder and has nowhere to hide so-"

"When have I declared my community a camp for refugees?" Alexander interrupted instantly and uncrossed his legs. He glared at Christian, and Christian's eyes instantly settled on the bloody floor.

"Never, but Miles has been a loyal one. She's his sister, so there's nothing to be afraid of."

"Yes, I won't have your head-" Luna chirped in "-Maybe" she added.

Apparently, Alexander heard and he narrowed his dark eyes at her.

"You want me to believe she's innocent?"

Christian pursed his lips, made doe eyes and nodded.

"Alright." Both Luna and Christian breathed out, that was easy. "But, I'll keep an eye on her, and not even you, would be able to plead on her behalf if I find out otherwise."

Christian didn't let the words sink, he bowed again and strolled towards Luna, helping her up to her feet.

"Thank you so much boss."

Christian tried pulling her along, but she resisted. He frowned at her questioningly, but she shook her head.

"I'll wait for you out then, don't get in trouble again." He whispered and exited the room, stumbling across the dead body. He murmured some swear words that made Luna chuckle.

Turning around, she almost cursed too at Alexander's intense eyes on her. The brightness showed, but the orbs were dark.

Luna swallowed, her eyes fell on the blood stained shirt of his. She couldn't tell why he looked so hot and dangerous as he sat.

"You said you will keep an eye on me." Luna started, struggling to stay still. Her knees hurt from kneeling in a position for too long.

Alexander raised a brow. He was enjoying this.

God, he looked appealing.

"Well, why not employ me as a maid? It will be easier to keep an eye on me that way." Luna blurted before she could think to stop herself.

Many days laterLuna Luna gasped in awe, her heart was filled with so much joy, and with it came the feeling of fulfillment that she had always craved for all her life… the feeling of serenity and peace at last. She hugged herself, the smile tugging at her lips refused to falter as she stared at Alex ’s handsome face. This was unbelievable! Marvelously so! She couldn’t believe how long had passed during this short time and how it has suddenly become months that Alex has been hospitalized… and now, he is fine! Fine at last, and fine enough to come home. As they strutted out of the hospital, walking side by side, all Luna could think about was finally having a normal life. The thought made her shiver with excitement as she couldn’t wait to begin to live the kind of life that she has always dreamed of…the type that had always kept her awake, crying and wishing that a miracle would occur. And now, a miracle did occur. The fact that Gabriel had died had made her feel sad for a brief

A night laterLuna After a few minutes of waiting patiently for her client, her heart once again leapt with joy for the nth time today when she saw Alex walking towards her with a new found bounce in his steps. He was wearing a fancy mask, one that accentuated his face and matched the colour of his dress shirt; and as soon as he saw her, he smiled. A bright smile. One that squeezed the sides of his eyes until tiny wrinkles showed there. “What do we start with?” She asked him quizzically. She wasn’t sure she had a choice here if he mentioned anything she couldn’t do but she still felt compelled to ask due to how good her mood was. “Do you want to discuss?” She noticed how he clicked his tongue at her question and even how his eyes shone in agreement; he liked the idea too, it was obvious that he did but he shook his head in negation; “No,” He said, making Luna halt in her steps as she turned to stare at him incredulously. “I’d want you to dance.” He added slowly. His eyes met hers

Ashley Ashley felt restless and she couldn’t quite place a reason for her restlessness. Deciding not to sit around aimlessly while the boredom ate into her like termites would to wood, she decided to take a walk around the house. With a bottle of liquor in her hands and a dagger in the other, she pranced about the house until she got to the picture gallery. This part of the house was the most serene… and the most beautiful as well. She admired each portrait, running her fingers deftly over each and every one as she went until she stopped at one. It was a painting which was depicting a picture of Zeke . The picture which had been a gift from him and which she had hated with intense passion stared back at her as she stared at it. “Ugly, ugly burnt out carrot!” She chanted, tapping on the surface of the portrait. For a minute, she wished she could rip out his eyes from the portrait and that it would really happen in real life too. She hated him that much. She stared pointedly at th

He grunted at the thought, liking it more and more by the hour. He remembered he had asked her to do something for him and grunted scrubbing a hand over his face. "Well?" "Well what?" Ashley asked feigning ignorance as she walked to his wine cellar in the corner of the office. She picked up a bottle and poured some of it into her mouth, not bothering to grab one of the glasses staring at her. "I didn't see anything if that's what you're asking." She shuddered as she remembered the sight that had greeted her. Not something a sibling should have to see. But then Gabriel wasn't your typical sibling. He was her brother, yes but that was about it. It was only a matter of speaking. There was no emotional benefit attached. He treated her the way he treated his staff at work. The only thing he didn't do was ask her to blow his junk. It wouldn't surprise her if he did. He was a ruthless ** and a huge piece of work. "What did you find out?" He insisted, ignoring her failed attempt at feigning

"We are done." Gabriel met them at the entrance and they greeted him. "Okay, you can leave." He ordered and they did. "Now, don't you feel better?" Gabriel asked as he bit his lips as he stared at her. Luna, who had been tied for hours, was asked such a question. She was pissed. "Oh of course, thank you for feeding me and clothing me and making me feel like myself and even for the warm silky bath, goodness knows how I would be if you hadn't interfered right?" Luna was being sarcastic and rude. "Now now." Gabriel walked closer to her and shook his head. "That's not the right way to talk to me now is it?" Gabriel asked her as he held her chin and looked at her. He gulped when he saw how pretty she was and how her nipples were. He had malicious thoughts. "Let me suggest this. "I will- I will make you exclusive again and I will make your life a little bit easier if you don't mess up again? If you don't mess up again. We all know that I am very generous and this- this is all your fau

It was the next day, Luna thought all she experienced was a dream but it wasn't. It was real and true. She knew she was in for it. She rolled her eyes and fumed. She was in her old room, the room where she slept while she was with Gabriel . The room was dark, the shaky and dim light bulb still dimmed regardless, it was old and it let out smoke at times. There were some of her strippers clothes, they were on the floor. They seemed dirty and old too. The room smelt like it always did. It was more cold. The window hasn't been opened in months. The floor was dirty and messy. It seemed old and odd. The room was how she left it, nothing was removed or taken away. She sighed and rolled her eyes. "No one came here." She said She tried to move and realised she was in chains. The bulb became clearer. She saw herself naked. Her hands were hurting. She couldn't move. If she did; she was going to lose her hands or her legs. Her panic attack started and she knew where this was heading. She had be
