MATE

"Happy birthday, Olivia!!" Finn screamed, waking me up from my sleep. 

"Ohh, Finn" I moaned as my eyes fluttered open. 

"Thank you, sweetie," I said as I smiled at the grinning Finn. 

"But what is happy about today, huh?" I jokingly asked as I pinched him on the nose. 

"Today is your birthday, so it is a happy day" he pouted as I chuckled. 

" Happy birthday Olivia, I pray you find your mate," he said as he hugged me.

" Yeah, me too," I said as I pulled away. 

" When you come of age, I also pray you find your own mate too," I said to him as his once bright expression turned sad. 

As an omega from birth, it only takes the intervention of the moon goddess for Finn to find his mate.

"Me too," he said. 

"Hey come on Finn, don't be sad. I didn't say it to make you sad, it is my birthday wish" I said as I pinched him on the cheeks as his mood brightened up once again. 

"Good, that is more like it," I said as I got down from the bed and packed my hair into a bun. My blonde hair was so dry and frizzy because I hadn't combed it in a long while, I didn't have any comb or anything to take care of it. 

"Let's go and start our day's work," I said as I grabbed a mob and bucket that was already in our room. "We would share the work, you do the cleaning while I will do the cooking, I would join you when I am through " I added.

" Ohh. Olivia, today is your birthday, we deserve a day off" Finn whined lazily. 

" No day off lazy head, tell that to the Alpha," I said.

" Ohh" he groaned as he took the mop and bucket from me.

I immediately went to the pack kitchen to start preparing breakfast for the pack members. They were not yet up, which was a good thing for me, no one would bully or annoy me. Finn had already gone to do his part. 

"Happy birthday Olivia, we are finally eighteen years old!! We are finally gonna find our mate today!!" Lorelei said excitedly. She was really excited to meet our mate. 

I was about to round off cooking when I heard some noises, the pack members were waking up. The first person I saw was Lucinda, she came into the kitchen. 

"Bitch" I mumbled as she approached me. 

"Make sure you clean my room after doing whatever you are doing, Omega," she said. 

" Finn is already doing that," I said. 

" I want you to clean my room, it is not a request but an order," she said Icily

" You are just a disgusting and useless omega," she said as she grabbed an apple and left the kitchen. 

I gritted my teeth in anger as I clenched the knife I was holding tightly.

 I had wanted to say something but I restrained myself and kept my mouth shut to avoid another fight and being put in the dungeon again. "Where is our food, Omega!!" I heard some of the pack members scream from the dining hall. The pack kitchen was just near the dining hall.

 "I am almost done please!!" I screamed back as I prepared the dishes faster.  

After cooking, I started serving the pack members who kept throwing snarky comments at me as I served them. They never got tired of doing that every morning during breakfast, anyways, I was already used to their nonsense. 

As I was almost through serving them, Alpha Asher got down the stairs and stared at me strangely. 

"We are hosting a party tonight, make sure this place is sparkling and clean, understand, Omega?" He said as I nodded.

Yes Alpha" I said respectfully.

He said nothing more as he went and sat down in the dining room. 

I quickly rushed to serve him. As I was putting some soup on his plate, I could feel my heart squeeze and my blood boil. I wish I had poisoned this soup before giving it to him! 

He was not supposed to be the Alpha but me, murderer!!

"Bad man!!" Lorelei screamed inside me. 

I really pray I find my mate today who will accept, protect and support me. Well, I just hope he does. 

After serving the Alpha, I went back to the kitchen to clean up, but before I left for the kitchen, I made sure to glare at the Alpha before leaving. I went to the kitchen and started cleaning up. I made sure to save some food this time around for me and Finn to eat. 

After I finished cleaning up the kitchen, I kept the food I had saved up in our room before I went to meet Finn. 

"Finn, have you cleaned the party hall?" I asked. 

"No, I was about to go clean it now," he said.

"Okay, Let's go together then," I said as I took my rags, mop, and bucket.

We headed to the party hall and began cleaning it up. 

The party hall was really large, so we cleaned for hours before we were through. 

"I am so hungry and my back aches" Finn whined as we were heading out of the hall. 

"You are always hungry, anyways, I saved you and some food," I said as his eyes widened. 

"Really?" He asked. 

"Yes," I said as I smiled. He gave me a really big hug. "Thank you, thank you," he said as he broke the hug. 

We headed back to our room and ate the food that I had kept for us. 

The party started around seven O'Clock in the evening. Noises could be heard that were coming from the party.

I felt bored and decided to go outside for some fresh air. 

I sat under the moonlight and stared at the stars, I felt at peace. Suddenly, a scent that assaulted my senses filled the air. 

It smelt wonderful. I could feel Lorelei growling in excitement. My body reacted to the scent. The scent made me breathe deeply, desperately hoping to pull the sweetness into my lungs and hold it there forever.

"MATE" Lorelei growled in excitement.
