---Zander’s POV---

“Hey Zan, did you lock the front door?” Ma asked after cleaning the last table. Switching the burners off and putting lids on the pot and pan, I let the food simmer, as I take the keys out to Ma. “Zan don’t come out here!”

Hearing the tension in her voice and the fact she was warning me, let me know something happened. Moving quickly, I snatched up the butcher knife and tucked it in my pants then grabbed the keys before leaving the kitchen. Stepping out I observed the situation and made a hutch.

“Hello fellas, I’m sorry but we just closed.” I say as I moved to the first break in the bar. “Though I do have some leftovers simmering on the stove if you want that.” The two guys standing at the entrance with guns changed their stance so instead, they were pointing those guns at me.

“Zan, I told you to stay in the kitchen!” Ma criticizes me as she sits at the closest stool as she was bone tired and didn’t what to deal with this.

“Yes Ma, I heard you but I just couldn’t le

---Merida’s POV---The next morning, I was the last to wake up. Though RJ had a plate of eggs and hashbrowns waiting for me when I made it downstairs. I could see Mi and Lu as well as Terry in the living room on phones talking with their families. I didn’t ask where Ericson or my dad were as they most likely were still helping clean up the mess after the attack. Though I did wonder where Crispin, Sarah, and Jenn were.“RJ did Jenn go back to her family this morning or is she somewhere around here?” I asked when I was done, and he came back with my second glass of milk.“I think she’s in the gym with Sarah and Crispin is upstairs. Though you didn’t ask I think you need to speak with him. As his feelings were hurt on how you ignored him yesterday.” RJ explained as he sat next to me.“I’m sorry should my attention be on him instead of my father or everyone else who has put themselves in danger for me. Or what about all those poor souls that got hurt because of me?” I asked as I drank my

Something was happening and getting scared I reached out for Crispin.~(XXX)~ (^_-) ~(XXX)~Feeling him beneath my fingertips I pulled his head back. Then seeing the distance between us, I pushed him away then rolled off the bed. Getting to my feet I ran to the door, only he caught me and dragged me back to the bed. That’s when I noticed the room. There was a fire going on in the fireplace and it was made of stone instead of gray marble, wait was there a fireplace in the room. Looking around I see the four-poster bed, only it has curtains on it and the windows looked different, they should be French doors and a window just at the end of the bed, but now their windows, smaller but four of them. Looking at the other wall I see the furniture. It’s different. That’s when I notice the mirror, the thick ornate mirror next to the hard wooden dresser. The mirror alone is not what got my attention, it was the girl in Crispin’s arms. It wa

Though I know Crispin can’t wait for her to remember, for it tightens their relationship even though it will confuse her. *I know Crispin wants to be her everything, but I really don’t think he is. In fact, I think he holds her back and makes her an easier target.*“Miguel! Earth to Miguel!” my sister Valeria screams, as she gets my attention. I almost forgot I was speaking with my sister.“Sorry Ria, I’m just got a lot on my mind.” I say as I walk to kitchen to get a drink, only I’m surprised to see RJ heading my way with a tray full of drinks. Nodding to him, I grab one as I settle on the steps. “How’s dad holding up? Is he still staying at the house?”“Yeah, he is. Though now that you aren’t here, mom went to stay with him.” Valeria says.“WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE’S AT THE HOUSE?” I scream as I slam the gl

I had to clean up a lot of her messes. She just couldn't do what was expected of her or act like a normal girl of that time. Not that she was a normal girl of that era!”“What in the world are you talking about Mi? Who is Nixie?” Terry asks as he picked up the frame of the floor and looked at it. “I mean this does look like Meri but clearly this is not. Right!”“Brother, my poor twin brother. A lot is going on and one of those is that…” Lu explains as she dances to him and snatches the frame and then waves it around as to emphasize her next words, “…this is in fact Meri but a past version of Merida.”Walking past them all I leave the room and escape to mine. Yo man stop fighting us.” “RJ save your words he can’t hear us.” My king says coming up behind us. I was surprised to see him with us and not tending to Merida. She looked shaken up by what happened. Plus, it seemed she had reminisced, given she was asking about Nixie. “My king is Merida, ok?” I ask after shoving Crispin in and shutting the door before he can whirl around and escape. “Eric I’m needed here for the moment. But yes, Merida is fine. Miguel is doing his job and helping with that. But I need to fix this before we lose him.” My king explains as he points to Crispin. I knew something was wrong. C

---Zander’s POV--- The last of our lunch rush had left and I had just finished cleaning up and putting away the ingredients. Sighing, I grabbed the empty dish pan to collect the other dishes as I stepped out and looked for Ma. “So, about my earlier suggestion…” I started only to get hit with a rag in the chest, which luckily landed in the dish pan. Putting it on the counter, I grabbed the rag and started wiping down the counter. Looking up I came face to face with an angry Ma. “Zan, you have proven a capable worker and a good cook, but how can you ask this?” she demands as she settles in the closet booth. “I agreed to last night but now this! Zan how can you trust them, after what they did?” she asks me. “Because in truth they really didn’t do anything.” Rasing my hand as she goes to once again remind me of the guns, which were securely locked in the safe in the office right at this moment. “Yes, they pointed guns at us and d

Then again it was crazy to learn that she did this on the word of some being. Though not just any being but the soul/ essence/ spirit of her home world Crustia. On top of that she was all alone. Her uncle the king had just died on the battlefield and her cousins, the next in line, and her aunt were lost in the destruction of the palace a few days later. *Yeah my grandmother wasn’t even in line for the throne, especially since she was so young and an orphan.* I can’t even imagine what she was going through after maybe just getting over losing her parents and now her uncle and his family are gone. ---Sarah’s POV--- It’s been a month since Crispin acted like a fool and tried to attack Meri with kisses or something. For it took the entire day to break whatever trance or hold Meri put him in or whatever it was. Though once he was free, he asked about Meri then clammed up and refused to talk. Though from what Meri had explained before lunch and how the king responded to my intel told me that it was Meri’s doing or power. I tried to talk with Meri over the next few weeks but once her teacher caught wind of it, he shut it down. I had no problem with it, but I did wish Mr. Bell would look in to it. Though I think the king was the one to shut it down. As I thought of the talk we had weeks back. ~ (^_^) ~ Two weeks ago ~ (^_^) ~ “Sarah, can we talk?” Mr. Bell asked me after his session with Meri. She was focused on the book he gave her to read. Nodding yes, we walked out of the study and down the hall a ways. “Sarah, I know you

---Merida’s POV--- It was nerve wracking to sit in the room and wait. Yes, I had an Armed Guard and a lovely female court official with me, but I really didn’t know them. Then again, they weren’t really here for me, it was just their job to be here. Though Thomas the Armed Guard was taking this seriously even as he offered me a gentle smile right after Ericson left. Then focused on watching the unknown woman in the room and the door. Though I almost jumped out of my seat when the door opened, and Ericson was standing there. I saw Thomas shifting right before but I wished he had signaled to me what was happening. Seeing my startled face, Thomas winced but moved swiftly out of the room, as Ericson headed to me. “I’m sorry Meri I should have knocked on the door, but I was in a rush to see you.” Ericson exclaimed as he took my hands and rubbed them. “Ms. Cogswell is perfectly fine here Mr. Solace.” The lady who I have completely

I had asked Mr. Anderson if we could enter through the back doors but he said no. Will it was more his boss that said no. I’m not happy about any of this, not that the king was any more pleased. He’s flying out soon, hopefully within the next hour. He really tried to leave last night but those blasted council members had questions. I know that he won’t let that happen again, he will be getting on the plane and heading here soon. It just won’t be in time for this, but he will be here tonight and tomorrow. ---Miguel’s POV--- I felt so bad for Merida. She was still dealing with the fact that Nadia was keeping a secret and all the new information she got over the weekend. As well that Nadia blocked her when she was chatting with the king. I wish had be privy to that chat, but we needed to keep the information to a few people. The less who know what’s the plan, the more chance of success. Though to say she wasn’t happy wasn’t a good way of describing her this weekend. As she cried a lot. She couldn’t believe that someone was out using her as an excuse to hurt people and now someone died because of it. Then again, the fact that Nadia was keeping her in the dark or helping on some trap, really hurt her. I don’t think she and Nadia have kept secrets from each other, not that she could kept hers from Nadia. But she seemed to really trust Nadia. It really took all weekend to get her to calm down and understand we will get those responsible for it

---Merida’s POV--- You would have thought I had been living in this house in this manner all my life. Nadia and I argue over the name brand stuff, while I scour through the more understated stuff for something I might like. Then Sarah, Lucy, or Jenn or all of them came in and get me dress. Then we go downstairs for breakfast and gossip. The guys sometimes join us, but really, it’s just us and RJ. My dad though had to leave Saturday night, he flew back to his castle as something came up and he needed to deal with it in person. Plus, he wanted to talk to our sponsor as well. He promised to be back by my court appearance on Wednesday. For the real person they want is me or the version of me they remember. Everyone always thinks that I’m all about causing pain and chaos. Though yes, I do like doing that but on my terms not on someone else’s. Plus, I have strict rules about who gets hurt and how much. Everything that has been going on is just plain rude. They are causing unnecessary harm and pain with no real goal in sight. For what right do they have to demand my presence or that of my Girl. She just got out of that hell hole and now she is about to face her first obstacle of this life. That scumbag! Tim deserves to rot in a hole with bugs crawling all over him. Though if a trouble shifter causes issues in the pack, then they are kicked out and left to wander alone. Thus, making them rogues and any person that follows them. So, a promise of a new pack, where they are forgiven is too much to turn down, even a condition like causing panic in another.
