---Merida’s POV---

I wasn’t sure how to handle everything. I thought I was good at handling what life threw at me but then again when did I ever image having an alien for a father or that everyone I cared for was supernatural. I really was going to lose a screw if I didn’t short this all out. Sitting at the desk in my new room, I turned on the lamp and grabbed one of the many notebooks and a pen as I thought about today’s events.

Deciding that bullet points would be best, I started with the first…

1) – Chad busted his head this morning and was taken to the hospital. Though it only happened because he learned I had a new parent, dad.

*NADIA, please watch your words. Others can hear you here!!* I screeched only to quiet down as I didn’t what to disturb my dad or Crispin.

2) – My dad is from another planet or was born in space. I’m not totally sure, as there was a lot to learn t

---Zander’s POV---“Hey Zan, did you lock the front door?” Ma asked after cleaning the last table. Switching the burners off and putting lids on the pot and pan, I let the food simmer, as I take the keys out to Ma. “Zan don’t come out here!”Hearing the tension in her voice and the fact she was warning me, let me know something happened. Moving quickly, I snatched up the butcher knife and tucked it in my pants then grabbed the keys before leaving the kitchen. Stepping out I observed the situation and made a hutch.“Hello fellas, I’m sorry but we just closed.” I say as I moved to the first break in the bar. “Though I do have some leftovers simmering on the stove if you want that.” The two guys standing at the entrance with guns changed their stance so instead, they were pointing those guns at me.“Zan, I told you to stay in the kitchen!” Ma criticizes me as she sits at the closest stool as she was bone tired and didn’t what to deal with this.“Yes Ma, I heard you but I just couldn’t le

---Merida’s POV---The next morning, I was the last to wake up. Though RJ had a plate of eggs and hashbrowns waiting for me when I made it downstairs. I could see Mi and Lu as well as Terry in the living room on phones talking with their families. I didn’t ask where Ericson or my dad were as they most likely were still helping clean up the mess after the attack. Though I did wonder where Crispin, Sarah, and Jenn were.“RJ did Jenn go back to her family this morning or is she somewhere around here?” I asked when I was done, and he came back with my second glass of milk.“I think she’s in the gym with Sarah and Crispin is upstairs. Though you didn’t ask I think you need to speak with him. As his feelings were hurt on how you ignored him yesterday.” RJ explained as he sat next to me.“I’m sorry should my attention be on him instead of my father or everyone else who has put themselves in danger for me. Or what about all those poor souls that got hurt because of me?” I asked as I drank my

Then seeing the distance between us, I pushed him away then rolled off the bed. Getting to my feet I ran to the door, only he caught me and dragged me back to the bed. That’s when I noticed the room. There was a fire going on in the fireplace and it was made of stone instead of gray marble, wait was there a fireplace in the room. Looking around I see the four-poster bed, only it has curtains on it and the windows looked different, they should be French doors and a window just at the end of the bed, but now their windows, smaller but four of them. Looking at the other wall I see the furniture. It’s different. That’s when I notice the mirror, the thick ornate mirror next to the hard wooden dresser. The mirror alone is not what got my attention, it was the girl in Crispin’s arms. It wa

---Miguel’s POV---Watching Meri walked up the stairs, I wondered where she was going. I really didn’t like her being alone right now. For a lot could happen, especially a reminisce. Though I know Crispin can’t wait for her to remember, for it tightens their relationship even though it will confuse her. *I know Crispin wants to be her everything, but I really don’t think he is. In fact, I think he holds her back and makes her an easier target.*“Miguel! Earth to Miguel!” my sister Valeria screams, as she gets my attention. I almost forgot I was speaking with my sister.“Sorry Ria, I’m just got a lot on my mind.” I say as I walk to kitchen to get a drink, only I’m surprised to see RJ heading my way with a tray full of drinks. Nodding to him, I grab one as I settle on the steps. “How’s dad holding up? Is he still staying at the house?”“Yeah, he is. Though now that you aren’t here, mom went to stay with him.” Valeria says.“WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE’S AT THE HOUSE?” I scream as I slam the gl

I had to clean up a lot of her messes. She just couldn't do what was expected of her or act like a normal girl of that time. Not that she was a normal girl of that era!”“What in the world are you talking about Mi? Who is Nixie?” Terry asks as he picked up the frame of the floor and looked at it. “I mean this does look like Meri but clearly this is not. Right!”“Brother, my poor twin brother. A lot is going on and one of those is that…” Lu explains as she dances to him and snatches the frame and then waves it around as to emphasize her next words, “…this is in fact Meri but a past version of Merida.”Walking past them all I leave the room and escape to mine. Yo man stop fighting us.” “RJ save your words he can’t hear us.” My king says coming up behind us. I was surprised to see him with us and not tending to Merida. She looked shaken up by what happened. Plus, it seemed she had reminisced, given she was asking about Nixie. “My king is Merida, ok?” I ask after shoving Crispin in and shutting the door before he can whirl around and escape. “Eric I’m needed here for the moment. But yes, Merida is fine. Miguel is doing his job and helping with that. But I need to fix this before we lose him.” My king explains as he points to Crispin. I knew something was wrong. C

Putting it on the counter, I grabbed the rag and started wiping down the counter. Looking up I came face to face with an angry Ma. “Zan, you have proven a capable worker and a good cook, but how can you ask this?” she demands as she settles in the closet booth. “I agreed to last night but now this! Zan how can you trust them, after what they did?” she asks me. “Because in truth they really didn’t do anything.” Rasing my hand as she goes to once again remind me of the guns, which were securely locked in the safe in the office right at this moment. “Yes, they pointed guns at us and d

Swallowing down the saliva that suddenly spawned in my mouth, I cleared my throat before explaining myself, “I have been practicing how to put up a block for the past month, but the nightmares have been going on for the past year or so…” “Ever since I left!” Jenn added as she moved to the sit next to me. Grabbing my hand, she squeezed it. I can see she wants to apologize, but it’s not her fault and plus I needed to learn how to deal with them. Mi sits back down but across from me and reaches across the table to add his hand to ours. His touch gives me strength so I can continue talking. “Jenn, I don’t remember what it was like before you came into my life, but I don’t wake up in a fit or screaming or crying. I just slept through them and woke up the next day wondering about them. I know they aren’t all the same, but they really don’t scare me. ---Merida’s POV--- Sitting there I just watched as Mi bounced his head on the table, I just worked on Jenn’s words. It was more than I thought. I had learned that shifters tend to run in packs as a way to strengthen themselves and protect their loved ones. Though if a trouble shifter causes issues in the pack, then they are kicked out and left to wander alone. Thus, making them rogues and any person that follows them. So, a promise of a new pack, where they are forgiven is too much to turn down, even a condition like causing panic in another. But then again would they go so far as to kill shifters just to join a new pack that hasn’t been established. *Wait has the pack even been formed?* “Jenn where is this pack set to be established?” I asked, causing everyone to halt in their movement and stare at me. “I’m sorry but no new pack has been recognized in this area and with my dad here. ---Miguel’s POV--- I would say life has calmed down these past two days, but I would need a base line to compare to our everyday life. But I can say we got into a routine that worked better than before. I know Mr. Bell has a lot of knowledge and experience when assisting someone with understanding their powers or teaching others of our world but Meri is not like anyone. I can’t explain but Meri does understand everything she learns but she still questions as if the knowledge she has is different than what she learned. Not that she remembers what she knows. But I am happy that I can openly help Meri now and not sneak behind everyone’s back. As Mr. Bell didn’t want to overwhelm her and thought one on one would be good for her. As well as judge what abilities she had and see about getting them under control. I wasn’t sure if any had surfaced but then again Nadia was present in her head. I don’t want her to lose all connections to our parents like I have. “Anneliesa I’m ok! Plus, I have many questions about the Armed Guard as well.” “Well technically yes you are neither but don’t forget that Armed Ladies can be appointed if a lady has proven to be exceptional. Then again given your inexperience in our world and that it has yet to be proven your standing, it is not unheard for Armed Ladies to be appointed to you. I tried to talk with Meri over the next few weeks but once her teacher caught wind of it, he shut it down. I had no problem with it, but I did wish Mr. Bell would look in to it.
