---Merida’s POV---I wasn’t sure how to handle everything. I thought I was good at handling what life threw at me but then again when did I ever image having an alien for a father or that everyone I cared for was supernatural. I really was going to lose a screw if I didn’t short this all out. Sitting at the desk in my new room, I turned on the lamp and grabbed one of the many notebooks and a pen as I thought about today’s events.Deciding that bullet points would be best, I started with the first…1) – Chad busted his head this morning and was taken to the hospital. Though it only happened because he learned I had a new parent, dad.A. Plus Mrs. Blanchard, the newly nicknamed Hurricane teacher, is learning how to be silent. *It’s shut your…**NADIA, please watch your words. Others can hear you here!!* I screeched only to quiet down as I didn’t what to disturb my dad or Crispin.2) – My dad is from another planet or was born in space. I’m not totally sure, as there was a lot to learn t
---Zander’s POV---“Hey Zan, did you lock the front door?” Ma asked after cleaning the last table. Switching the burners off and putting lids on the pot and pan, I let the food simmer, as I take the keys out to Ma. “Zan don’t come out here!”Hearing the tension in her voice and the fact she was warning me, let me know something happened. Moving quickly, I snatched up the butcher knife and tucked it in my pants then grabbed the keys before leaving the kitchen. Stepping out I observed the situation and made a hutch.“Hello fellas, I’m sorry but we just closed.” I say as I moved to the first break in the bar. “Though I do have some leftovers simmering on the stove if you want that.” The two guys standing at the entrance with guns changed their stance so instead, they were pointing those guns at me.“Zan, I told you to stay in the kitchen!” Ma criticizes me as she sits at the closest stool as she was bone tired and didn’t what to deal with this.“Yes Ma, I heard you but I just couldn’t le
---Merida’s POV---The next morning, I was the last to wake up. Though RJ had a plate of eggs and hashbrowns waiting for me when I made it downstairs. I could see Mi and Lu as well as Terry in the living room on phones talking with their families. I didn’t ask where Ericson or my dad were as they most likely were still helping clean up the mess after the attack. Though I did wonder where Crispin, Sarah, and Jenn were.“RJ did Jenn go back to her family this morning or is she somewhere around here?” I asked when I was done, and he came back with my second glass of milk.“I think she’s in the gym with Sarah and Crispin is upstairs. Though you didn’t ask I think you need to speak with him. As his feelings were hurt on how you ignored him yesterday.” RJ explained as he sat next to me.“I’m sorry should my attention be on him instead of my father or everyone else who has put themselves in danger for me. Or what about all those poor souls that got hurt because of me?” I asked as I drank my
Before Nadia could answer I felt my mind drifting away. Something was happening and getting scared I reached out for Crispin.~(XXX)~ (^_-) ~(XXX)~Feeling him beneath my fingertips I pulled his head back. Then seeing the distance between us, I pushed him away then rolled off the bed. Getting to my feet I ran to the door, only he caught me and dragged me back to the bed. That’s when I noticed the room. There was a fire going on in the fireplace and it was made of stone instead of gray marble, wait was there a fireplace in the room. Looking around I see the four-poster bed, only it has curtains on it and the windows looked different, they should be French doors and a window just at the end of the bed, but now their windows, smaller but four of them. Looking at the other wall I see the furniture. It’s different. That’s when I notice the mirror, the thick ornate mirror next to the hard wooden dresser. The mirror alone is not what got my attention, it was the girl in Crispin’s arms. It wa
---Miguel’s POV---Watching Meri walked up the stairs, I wondered where she was going. I really didn’t like her being alone right now. For a lot could happen, especially a reminisce. Though I know Crispin can’t wait for her to remember, for it tightens their relationship even though it will confuse her. *I know Crispin wants to be her everything, but I really don’t think he is. In fact, I think he holds her back and makes her an easier target.*“Miguel! Earth to Miguel!” my sister Valeria screams, as she gets my attention. I almost forgot I was speaking with my sister.“Sorry Ria, I’m just got a lot on my mind.” I say as I walk to kitchen to get a drink, only I’m surprised to see RJ heading my way with a tray full of drinks. Nodding to him, I grab one as I settle on the steps. “How’s dad holding up? Is he still staying at the house?”“Yeah, he is. Though now that you aren’t here, mom went to stay with him.” Valeria says.“WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE’S AT THE HOUSE?” I scream as I slam the gl
---Merida’s POV---Oh lord, could the floor just open up and swallow me whole. *Why, oh why did I have to have a reminisce of that and how does Mi know?*“Meri, I know what happened given I was there and had to deal with the fallout.” Mi explained from his position on the floor. “Though Nixie was like that. I had to clean up a lot of her messes. She just couldn't do what was expected of her or act like a normal girl of that time. Not that she was a normal girl of that era!”“What in the world are you talking about Mi? Who is Nixie?” Terry asks as he picked up the frame of the floor and looked at it. “I mean this does look like Meri but clearly this is not. Right!”“Brother, my poor twin brother. A lot is going on and one of those is that…” Lu explains as she dances to him and snatches the frame and then waves it around as to emphasize her next words, “…this is in fact Meri but a past version of Merida.”Walking past them all I leave the room and escape to mine. Only I’m not alone. I s
---Ericson’s POV--- “My liege! My liege needs me. You are leaving her alone with those dogs. Please, we need to go back. MY LIEGE!” Crispin keeps saying as he fights to go back to his room. “Crispin stop!” RJ said as we struggled to get him down the stairs and to one of the holding cells in the basement. “Crispin! Yo man stop fighting us.” “RJ save your words he can’t hear us.” My king says coming up behind us. I was surprised to see him with us and not tending to Merida. She looked shaken up by what happened. Plus, it seemed she had reminisced, given she was asking about Nixie. “My king is Merida, ok?” I ask after shoving Crispin in and shutting the door before he can whirl around and escape. “Eric I’m needed here for the moment. But yes, Merida is fine. Miguel is doing his job and helping with that. But I need to fix this before we lose him.” My king explains as he points to Crispin. I knew something was wrong. C
---Zander’s POV--- The last of our lunch rush had left and I had just finished cleaning up and putting away the ingredients. Sighing, I grabbed the empty dish pan to collect the other dishes as I stepped out and looked for Ma. “So, about my earlier suggestion…” I started only to get hit with a rag in the chest, which luckily landed in the dish pan. Putting it on the counter, I grabbed the rag and started wiping down the counter. Looking up I came face to face with an angry Ma. “Zan, you have proven a capable worker and a good cook, but how can you ask this?” she demands as she settles in the closet booth. “I agreed to last night but now this! Zan how can you trust them, after what they did?” she asks me. “Because in truth they really didn’t do anything.” Rasing my hand as she goes to once again remind me of the guns, which were securely locked in the safe in the office right at this moment. “Yes, they pointed guns at us and d
---Merida’s POV--- “Please Lucy I just want to hear.” I begged as Lucy tried to leave my room for the tenth time since I asked her. “Meri I really didn’t want to tell you, as you’re going to be worried.” She says. I am scared she’s going to run before I get her to talk so I grip her shirt with both hands and yank her to my bed. “Lucy, you promised to spend your last night with me, and I just want to know what really happened after you left the courthouse that day.” After looking at me for a moment, she finally collapses on my bed. “I don’t know why you want to know now. It’s been months since then and everythi
---Zander’s POV--- Rubbing my eyes, I look around but it’s dark, though I know my sister isn’t here. Hearing raised voices, I figured dad was back, except mom sounded scared and was pleading, why would she be pleading when dad is here. Plus, I can’t hear my sister. Sister wouldn’t just stand by and listen, she would be comforting mom or yelling at whoever was stressing her. Getting up I crawl across the floor and look down into the house. I see mom struggling with someone I’ve never seen before but as he moves to the door that’s when I notice sister. He has sister in his arms and he’s trying to leave with her, but it’s sister’s reaction that scares me. For there is no reaction (she’s not hitting him, smiling, crying or even scowling) she’s just holding onto his shirt with a blank look and empty ey
---Merida’s POV--- It had been another long day. More trying to remember my past lives and how to control the flow and influence on this life, not that it always worked. Let alone did I have a reminisce every day or today at that. Not that my teacher believed me. He believed I was blocking myself from remembering. Then again, I really missed Mr. Bell, but he couldn’t be my teacher, and I wanted to be treated like any other person. So yeah, I had been enrolled into the local Crysthalian School. *Girl it’s not you, he thinks someone is holding us back.* Nadia finally speaks up after several days of just standing by and watching. *Who does he blame?* I asked as I settled in bed and hope sleep will come
---Zander’s POV--- It’s been a year since I left the coven and found my new home. This restaurant and these people. I really shouldn’t get comfortable but looking around the table at everyone, I just want to live in the moment. This right here is what I want. And I’m hoping to never go back to that hellhole. “Hey Zan, you ok?” Ma asks me as she passes the green beans to me. “Yeah, I’m perfect Ma, just realizing it’s been a year since you took me in and gave me a home.” I said as I took the green beans from her and placed them aside. Then turning back, I hugged her. “Thank you!” “Oh Zan, your welcome.’ Ma choked out. I knew she
---Merida’s POV--- I was so surprised when the first ‘CRACK’ and boom lit up the sky. I’ve never seen fireworks, as I was always left home or busy doing something. My former parents always had their reasons, and I think it was to keep me out of view. But here on an island, with a castle in the distance and a beach under my feet, I wasn’t hiding. I was hiding who I was but not physically. Everyone here knew my name and welcomed me with smiles or hugs. Smiling as I watched the fireworks, I was surprised once more when my dad appeared next to me. “So, is it everything you imagined?” I could see the ‘Little Sea’ part in his eyes, as he smiled down at me. Looking around I was surprised to see the staff had gathered around us and was blocking us from the nobles that were standi
---Sarah’s POV--- The night dragged on as I waited for my chance to run but I didn’t know what had been planned. The king making his appearance almost a half an hour after the ball started or that he ended up picking me as his princess for the night. A total shock and it also meant I had to dance with a few councilors or their sons. My mom kept appearing in my line of sight and telling me to smile. I would have punched that last son in the face, if Ericson hadn’t approached and stole me away. “Are you better now Sarah?” Ericson whispered in my ear. I tried really hard not to let the shiver run down my spine. But I just couldn’t help but fall for him. Nodding my head as I just knew my voice would cra
---Merida’s POV--- It was disheartening to hear that Crispin wouldn’t be at the party, but I did understand. Though where I got the ideal of my wanting a dance with him or asking for a raincheck. It was embarrassing especially since Lu and Mi not only heard but saw his reaction. I was so happy that Sarah reacted and pulled him away. “OK tomato lets go, or are you hopping for Crispin to come back and swipe you off your feet?” Mi asked as he adjusted the sleeves of his shirt. Punching him in the arm, as I walked past, I picked up my shawl and wrapped it around me. “Shut up Mi.” “Meri you can’t blame Mi, your still red in the che
---Sarah’s POV--- Today was the ball and I was really upset. Because of my family’s standing I had to attend the ball, but my mom promised I could leave after the first dance. What my mom didn’t know was, I was going to skip out during the first dance. No one would notice me or even care, though that meant I would miss the first hour or so of the beach party. Meri did a really good job on the party and put a lot of work to make this year great. The staff were really excited, and I didn’t blame them, as I was excited too. I even had my other outfit hidden downstairs by Lucinda. Though she also was hiding spare clothes for Jenn, Jayla, Cora, and my brother. Except I don’t think my brother is going to be able to leave.&
The following days sucked but I was busy, so I really didn’t have time to think or dwell on anything. I was helping with making decorations and assisting Lucinda in the fine details of the beach party. Then again there was a lot to sort out after the incident with the noble girls. From the clothes that went missing, to the destroyed items, a lot had to be replaced or fixed. Then again, my dad has been even busier, as all the councilors had many questions. Plus, he had to explain why he brought outsiders, mainly me, into the castle. Mr. Bell was around for a few days and even took time to talk with me. ~(*o*)~ ~(couple days ago)~ ~(*o*)~ Walking around the fourth floor of the library, I really took i
