[ Colton ]

I felt numb.

The excruciating pain in my body, dried blood on my cuts and a throbbing headache didn't feel at all as my heart bled for the woman laying lifeless inside the OT. I couldn't understand what just happened within a few seconds. We were talking and going back to home ans suddenly my world collapsed.

"Colton."

A faint yet very soft voice reached into my ear but I didn't react. Moments later I felt a gentle touch on my shoulder and the person sat beside me.

"Please don't loose your faith in the God. Evangeline is a strong woman. She'll survive this, mija."

"I don't have left any faith in the God, mother." I finally tilted my head to face the woman who gave birth to me.

I didn't know how she came here as the storm had taken a dangrous shape. Her family could also not come to the hospital.

Her old, moist eyes stared at me with pain, agony and sadness.

"But I have full faith in Almighty. Evangeline will be fine but you have to be strong for her and for your children."
