“You can walk?” Father asked. I could see the surprise in his eyes as he spoke; he had not expected it, I made sure not a single track was left. I had him exactly where I wanted. I nodded slowly.

“Yes, as a matter of fact, I've been able to walk for a while now. I Had the doctor kept it discreet, he would of course have told you about my progress if you'd asked, but I guess you were too busy with other things to worry about your crippled son.” I explained sure enough that the words were shot towards him like daggers.

He seemed ashamed after hearing my words; he averted his gaze from me, but I didn't flinch by a bit; I wasn't worried about what his outcome might be. So long as I had all that I wanted, and things were fine so far.
