My eyes wide opened in the complete darkness; it wasn't like I had many options to it; as a matter of fact, I was just as helpless; my sanity was teetering on the edge, and my hope and thoughts on how to save my mother kept dwindling. There was nothing that could be done; I was weak and hopeless, but most of all, seeing how things had begun unfolding these past few days really did bother me.
