5. She wants something

There’s silence from both parties, each looking at the other like war lords in a field of fortune, it’s an eye to eye battle. The battle doesn’t stay that long as one of them looks away breaking whatever staring competition they had going on.

Why won’t I just keep looking at her? I’m the man here.

Just one thought and the combat is rekindled again. This time, the former looser determined to win.

It has gone a few seconds longer this lapse and it seems there’s hope for him to win but his serious stare doesn’t prove him fearless. Within his mind, shots of thoughts come pumping out.

Oh my God, she does know how to look at someone, is one of those shots.

 If only the sculptures, manuscripts, and arts in the museum could clap, perhaps they will get a standing ovation. However, that will require them being faster than the water droplet, who knows where it’s from; which lands on Daniel’s head sprinkling down his eyes. Just like that, the reflexes of the eyes that nature takes credit for, is fast enough to make him a second time looser.

“Ouch!” he exclaims as he wipes the water and shifts away.

Smiling at his predicament, she says, “I take it is a sign that you snap out of it and tell me what makes you think you know me”.

  “Well let’s say I thought far and it happens that I do have seen you before”, he says confidently.

I see, and where would that be? She asks coming closer to Daniel whose heart already begins to beat a little faster but he’s not panicking at all.

 The lady comes so close and asks again this time looking him in the eyes. For Daniel, it was like looking at Selena Gomez’s eyes. They were indeed charming but he turns and walks some distance.

   “Well for a girl from Saint Francis College who finds my friend Glenn cute, I thought you would be outside there with him other than in here”, He says.

  “Wow you do remember me. So I take it you’ve thought about me before?” She asks smiling.

  “No, I only thought of you now when I had to remember you so--” Daniel suddenly is quite as he turns and looks at her,

  “So what?” She asks.

  “Wait a minute; something is not right”, he says as he moves closer with eyebrows raised.

  “And what’s that?”

  “You complemented my friend on his look and his speech”, His eyebrows now shrink

“Yes, so? She asks waving her hand

  “So how come you earlier questioned and condemned me about not giving my own speeches?”

You see that’s the problem Daniel she says as she advances two steps towards him, Daniel waiting with absolute curiosity.

  “On that bike, I wasn’t referring to your friend. I was--”

  "--Referring to me”, He concludes as he lets a ball of his own saliva down his gut.

  “Good boy” she says smiling.

Daniel’s curiosity isn’t quenched; instead the fire has gotten more woods. He thought remembering the girl was going to make things easier but it turns out that is not the case. However, Daniel is willing to keep asking. There’s a lot he really wants to understand. The lady is examining the arrow she’s holding while Daniel stands there looking at her, totally lost. He’s quite for some time

Now she knows i wrote speeches for Glenn? How am i missing all these?

Could she be friends with one of my own friends? If so, I would've known by now.

Something is surely not right.

After all the thoughts in his mind, he then breaks the silence.

“How were you referring to me? You’re not from our school; I saw you on that bike in Saint Francis attires and even if you had an insider from our school, nobody else but my best friends Glenn and Gilbert knows about the speech thing. So please explain yourself”, Daniel says with hunger in his eyes.

“I can see you really get curious”; she smiles as she throws the arrow walking away.

Daniel hastens his steps joining her ignoring the presence of the arrow.

“What do you expect? It’s all strange” he says.

The lady, walking faster; “I know it’s strange”; she looks at Daniel as she smirks. She's not willing to bring him to the light.

“Daniel is about to ask again when she begs him to let it go for now. She lets him understand she came to look for something but again Daniel wants to ask about it to which she promises to tell everything when they’re done and out.

You could say the urge has reached its peak as he is not willing to let go until the lady makes him understand they’ve been inside the restricted hall for some time and wasting any more time won’t be good as the museum gates could be shut when reception is over”.

Well this one gets to Daniel, so he forgets about his questions after all who is willing to spend the night with a strange girl in a creepy museum.

They reach another hall ,this one has deem lights with webs on the  dark walls, the floors are cracked too, it sure looked like the place had been around a very long time one would say. The lady’s pace keeps increasing. Daniel is trying his best to keep up.

She keeps looking at what appears to be a picture of a small map on her phone.

she really looks too serious, What could she be looking for?

“You really are moving too fast”, Daniel says as his breaths echo through.

 “Yup I don’t have ti--”

CREK!

She doesn’t realize when she smashes something on the floor, this triggers something. An arrow leaves the wall with speed straight to her direction like it was coming for vengeance or something.

Eyes wide open.

"AHHHHH", she scream
