Chapter 77: Confidence

Charlotte’s pov

“She is coming here today; we need to welcome her” Logan said, and I nodded.

“Don’t worry, you have everything covered. I know you do; we just need to figure out if there is any way to end this curse” I said, and he smiled.

“I am sure there is, Reene must have put other measures in place to ensure that happens” he said.

Well at least now he is a little positive about everything.

“I hear you, but what about those two? They left a few days ago and we don’t even know who they met up with” Clara said.

So, since Clara and Alexa are mates we had to tell her everything.

I understood when Alexa came to me and asked if we could tell her.

Half-truths hurt people;

I didn’t want their relationship to start on a shaky foundation where the other one is in the dark about everything.

Plus, I tried Alexa and Logan, so if they trust Clara then I don’t have a choice but to trust her as well.

“Actually, I had someone on that, he will let us know about what he saw soon.

I don’t know what is keeping him so busy that he won’t even call” I said and then looked at my phone.

He is probably busy with some vampires ladies, and yet he kept telling me that I the love of his life.

He kept saying that no matter what he wouldn’t give up on me and yet here we are.

He sent me here and hardly called, hell I had to call him to ask him a favour.

Wait why am I angry about that?

I never wanted all this attention, it’s not like I was willing to give him a chance to be with me.

I am not Scarlet; I will never be her and the one that he loves is Scarlet.

I don’t have any feelings towards him, I mean do I think he is hot. Yes but so does every girl on this earth.

“He is the vampire King, I bet there is a lot more pressing matters he must be attending to” Logan said.

I nodded and then found Alexa looking at me with that judgy look.

“What?” I asked and she smiled but shook her head.

“Nothing really, shall we go downstairs? You said that she was entering the pack territory so she should be here any moment now” Alexa said.

But she still had that smile on her face.

“What the hell, stop that already” I said, and she just shrugged.

We went downstairs and waited for the girl; I believe her name is Lana.

“What is happening here?” Justice asked as he came downstairs with his fiancé Sasha.

After their visit to whomever they were meeting the two have been so different.

They are unusually calm and hardly say anything as if they know something we don’t.

They don’t even bully people and they also seem to be getting well.

If it was someone else then I wouldn’t be worried but its these two, so I have every reason to worry.

 It’s the confidence for me, what did they plot with the witch that has them so confident?

“We are meeting a descendant of an old member of our pack.

We would like them to return back home, the way their ancestors were sent away was disgraceful.

So, we would like to make up for that mistake” The Alpha King said.

Justice looked at his father, “aren’t you a fair king?” he asked and then his eyes landed on me.

He smiled; he has been doing a lot of that lately that I cant help but think that he knows the truth.

And if he does then I think he has planned something.

He has information that could ruin Logan in the eyes of his people so why not use it?

Actually, he could just gang up on us with the witches and other supernatural beings that are coming after me.

Why come back and pretend that everything is okay and act all humble?

“I would like to welcome this person as well. if you are okay with it father and brother” he said.

See what I am talking about?

He is being too nice, too nice that it actually feels as if he is mocking us for some reason.

I know for certain that he knows something but why wont he use this information?

The one reason I can think of is that he has something even bigger planned.

Or they are both letting the witch take the lead since they both failed.

The car stopped and a young girl came out of it, purple hair, and emo clothes.

She is a teenager, when I heard the word seer I thought of someone who is about 24 or even older but she looks 18 years old.

“Hello good people, my name is Lana Swift” she said with the brightest smile I have ever seen.

“You must be Scarlet” she said coming to me and Justice looked at me with a smirk.

“Don’t you mean Charlotte?” he asked her, and she looked at him.

“What such an unfortunate fate you have, so full of hate and failure.

Because of the hate in your heart, you will never succeed in anything you do” she said to Justice.

He seemed a little taken aback.

“Ohhh she isn’t just a mere werewolf, she has sight. She is a seer wolf” I said with a smirk.

His face fell but then he smiled again.

“well isn’t the whole fun thing about fate is that it can be changed. Wouldn’t you try to change yours Scarlet?” he asked. He knows the truth, “ohhh sorry I mean Charlotte” he said and then walked away. “He knows, and he will try to use it against you. Actually, he has already started, I can see it, their plans are now in action” Lana said and then looked at me and then Alexa. “I see Reene did well, you guys got reunited earlier this time” she said, and I looked at Alexa. “What do you mean Reene? Are you saying that Reene and Alexa knew each other?” I asked her.

“First lets go inside where we can talk in private, please make me some tea while we wait for the other one to arrive” she then said as she went inside like she owned the place.

We went to Alpha King Dylan’s office so we can talk further.

“You said the other one to arrive?” I asked her and she nodded as she started sipping her tea.

She is dressed like an emo teenager, but her mannerism is that of a woman.

The way she sit with her legs crossed, the way she drinks her tea and what teenager asks for tea?

Even if I was a teenager on the run I never really wanted tea when I sat down.

“The five of you are bound together, in order to get this spell, you need to be together.

Luckly for you in this lifetime you are together.

If you don’t break the curse now then I am afraid you will never be able to break it” she said and then looked at Logan.

“I am sorry I came so late, but I had to try convincing some of the family members” she said, and Logan shook his head.

“We are the ones who should be apologising, the way my grandfather treated your family wasn’t so nice” Logan said.

“Speaking of my father, do you know why he did that?

Why would he be so unfair to your family?” Alpha King asked him.

“Because just like your eldest son he couldn’t accept the truth, you see your father wasn’t meant to be Alpha King.

It wasn’t his right, so when they told him he freaked out,

the throne was meant for his younger brother” she said.

Alpha King Dylan seemed confused.

“what? Younger brother? what are you talking about? My father didn’t have a younger brother” he said.

“Ohhh he did, it’s just that he killed him, the boy was about 15 years younger than him.

He saw an infant as a threat, the rest is history” she explained.

“So does this mean that the throne wasn’t mine as well?” Alpha King asked, and she smiled.

“The throne was always yours, the boy would have died anyways” she said and then looked at Logan.

“The boy was another reincarnation of me after Ryder?” Logan asked and she nodded.

“We need to end this vicious circle of yours” she said then looked at me.

“You said the five of us, who are the others?” I asked her.

“Well, there you, Logan, Sebastian, Alexa and the witch” she replied, and I looked at her.

“You are saying Alexa? What does she have to do with Reene?” I asked her and she shrugged.

“Honestly, I don’t even know, but I do know that these five people are needed to break the spell” she answered.

“I get the witch, Alexa, Charlotte, and me but what does Sebastian have to do with the curse?” Logan asked.

“My question exactly, Scarlet put me to sleep the night the spell happened.

So how am I connected on breaking it?” Sebastian asked standing at the door.

When did he get here?
