Geneveive Tessa Robert
I took the blanket from Kyle’s quiet housekeeper and covered the twins. I hadn’t planned on sleeping over, over, but the kids had fallen asleep after our third monopoly game. I kissed their cheeks and followed the housekeeper out. Another reason why I hadn't wanted to sleepover was Kyle.
He had stirred my feelings with his call conversation on my way here. Lately, I had been struggling with admitting my feelings for him because I was afraid of envisioning a future with him. Would Kyle give me all the happiness I wanted in life? Would he wake up one morning and demand a divorce because I couldn’t give him more children? children? ThereThere was also Dahila. I didn’t want to think about what Vera had insinuated about her always having an ulterior motive for everything she did.
I shrugged, entering the living room. I would also have to talk to Kyle about his mom and suggest a truce. If I was going to accept it into my life finally, Dahila and I needed to sort out our differences and let go of the past.
‘I thought you were going to wait for me before starting the movie!’ I squeezed my face a bit, taking the space near Kyle. He smelt nice. I couldn’t help but draw closer to him.
He slid his hand across, drawing near—I—I wasn’t the one craving the other warmth. ‘I just started the movie, movie, and besides, you have watched it before, so you didn’t miss much.’
I shrugged, thinking about my decision to talk about the call conversation. Now seemed like a good time to talk about it. ‘Kyle, I need to talk to you about our call. I don’t want tonight to pass without us talking about it.
He gazed at me, sitting upright. ‘I also have a few things to talk to you about, about, but please go first.’
I nodded, taking his hands. ‘When I met you in California, I thought that was going to be our last meetup because of what had happened between us in the past. You came after me even when you knew II had a husband. You didn’t give up. You kept trying to prove yourself and show how much you had changed. At first, I I thought you returned because of the kids, kids, but as we spent time together, I discovered new things about you. You had changed from the stoic CEO II had married years ago to someone kind and passionate. I…’ I stopped, glancing at him.
He squeezed my hands as encouragement. ‘California was a blessing, Tessa. I never knew that I would fall in love again with you until I saw you again. You reignited a spark I thought was dead, dead, and when II discovered you had Kanebi, I couldn’t help but hate myself for divorcing you. I made a lot of terrible mistakes, Tessa, but I promised myself I was going to spend my life rectifying it. That was one of the reasons I kept coming back. I had fallen again for you, and I couldn’t stop myself.‘
I sniffed, looking into his eyes. His words made it easier for me to continue. ‘Kyle.. I lied when I said I didn’t want anything more from you. I lied when I said I couldn’t give you what you wanted. I want everything you can offer and more. I want you in my life. I want every part of you to be merged with me. I am sorry for not saying this earlier, but I was so afraid of the future. Of us.’
‘Tessa, I am not upset it took you long to say this. I guess I deserved the long wait and rejections. I was a stupid and cold ex-husband to you who didn’t appreciate your value in my life. You defined my life, and I let you go because of my mother’s influence. I brought in a woman who almost’
I shushed him. ‘Don’t mention her name, Kyle. She’s in the past, okay? I am happy you waited for me, baby. I can’t wait for you to finally be mine.’
He chuckled, staring deeply into my eyes—I could feel his pure love for me in them. ‘You’re already mine, but one question though: are you in love with me, or are we just confessing our wishes?’
I laughed, drawing closer to him, his nose touching mine. ‘I am in love with you, Kyle King. Always and forever.’
I kissed him, enjoying his warmth as he sank deeper while I froze all thoughts just to enjoy the moment.
He released me, smirking. ‘I have always wished for that after the last time. I am in love with you too—always and forever.’
I chuckled, falling into his arms. ‘I feel better now,’ I said, looking up at him, preparing my next speech. ‘Kyle, your mom. We need to have a conversation with her.’
Kyle agreed. ‘We can schedule a meeting when I travel to Nashville during the weekend. It’s time to settle all differences.’
I smiled. ‘I hope she doesn’t make it too hard. I don’t want to be the reason why you and her will have a strained relationship.
He squeezed me. ‘No, don’t say that. I will speak to her during the weekend, and we will schedule the meeting. I also need to speak to your parents now that we have moved to the next stage.’
‘My parents will be on their best behaviour, but be ready for their questions. They are still not sure of your intention, Kyle. I have tried my best, but your actions have to speak louder than words.’
‘I am going to be the best version of me during the meeting. I really can’t wait to make you my wife again.’
I raised an eyebrow, watching him smile. ‘Are you planning another wedding, Kyle King?’
He nodded, winking at me. ‘A beautiful wedding to renew our vows and wow our children. Hope has agreed to be our chief bridesmaid.’
I struggled to sit up, but he held me, smiling widely. ‘Don’t argue, Tessa King. It won’t change anything.’
I chuckled, taking his lips as I suppressed any doubts, trying to spoil the moment.
Finally, he was mine.
Kyle KingFive months laterAfter sorting Avaline’s court case, I officially named Xavier the CFO of Planet O. The board accepted him with no grumblings, and I wasn’t surprised because he had been performing well even in my absence. I also took Mom to London, and we finally had a peaceful conversation with Tessa. Mom apologized for everything she did in the past and present. She also acknowledged the kids as her grandchildren. Tessa had been happy and didn’t hesitate to draw Mom into a hug.We scheduled a dinner with Tessa’s parents to officially declare my intentions. I had married Tessa the wrong way years ago, but now I wanted to do right by her. Her parents had been stiff during the dinner at first, but Tessa was a beautiful instrument in converting them to accommodating individuals. Mom also carried on the conversation by being herself, and before long, she and Mrs. Roberts were laughing like old pals. During a sleepover with kids at my place, Tessa had suggested we move in toge
Genevieve Tessa Roberts I was fidgeting. I heaved a deep sigh and pulled the hem of my dress to cover my knees. Taking a glance at the wristwatch strapped to my wrist, I noted with great angst that it's been over twenty minutes since the Doctor walked out of the room on an excuse to get back to me soon. Sighing again, I rubbed my palms together before picking up my phone to check if I had any missed calls or anything of the sort but nothing stood out to me. I started to put my phone away when the door opened and I stopped and turned toward the woman that had walked in. Sitting up in my seat, my eyes followed Doctor Brown’s movement till she finally settled back in her seat which was right in front of me, separated by a huge desk that had a bunch of stuff I wasn't interested in on it. “Sorry for the long wait, Mrs. King. Here is the test result.” She smiled softly before handing me the results. I hesitated for a second, my heart leaping with what I didn't know as I eyed the unse
Genevieve Tessa Roberts My body stopped moving but my fingers didn't. I stood there, eyes wide with disbelief and apparent shock as I listened to my husband, Kyle go on and on about a lot of things I was too shocked to decipher. He was talking to Xavier, his childhood best friend who had always been in our lives. I had no idea what to say to that or what to think. My heart must have died on the spot because I suddenly found it hard to breathe. Grasping the fabric of my coat, I willed myself to take in deep sharp breaths but it was extremely hard. All I felt was pain. Excruciating pain that rendered me numb. “But, do you really think that you need to do that? Maybe you should take more tests or consider another option. IVF? Surrogacy?” Xavier was talking, asking the mother fucker I called my husband. “IVF, we have already done and concluded. Nothing's worked out. My mother would have my head at the thought of surrogacy. You know how uptight she is and how she wouldn't bend to the sc
Genevieve Tessa Roberts I laid in bed quietly with tears in my eyes, waiting. Five years that I'd been married to Kyle and I'd never received that level of disrespect. The disrespect was too much. I couldn't take it and the more I thought about it, the more the tears wouldn't stop flowing. I hated to think for even a second that it was because of me that this was happening. I knew exactly the time Dahlia and Katherine finished dinner and left. I also listened as he went straight to his study instead of coming to the room. My heart clenched. The Kyle I had married would have come into the room to check on me. Scratch that, he would have cautioned his mother the moment she opened her mouth and came around to check up on me to see if I was okay. The more I thought about it all, the more it hurt and it got increasingly harder for me to stop the tears. Kyle finally walked into the room at around two in the morning. The room was dark but I watched him move about, shuffling things and arra
GENEVIEVE Tessa ROBERTS I smiled weakly, settling into the chair and texting Vera the latest update. I shuddered a bit thinking about my new status, but I managed to keep myself stable. I couldn't afford to create a scene in the office, and there was also a life growing in me. I gently rubbed my stomach as I took a final glance at my wedding photo and threw it into the bin. `Are you okay, boss?` Gen asked, rushing towards me. I didn't realise I had been crying until Gen dabbed my face, and my eyes followed her gaze to my drenched blouse. I sniffed, standing up, `Yeah... I just received sad news, Gen. I will be returning to my hometown; my family needs me. It was really nice working with you, dear friend.` She hugged me tightly, releasing me when I shuddered. `I am going to miss you, Boss. I do hope all is well at home. I nodded, not wanting to release the news of my divorce. I decided to leave it for Christine, Kyle, or Dahila. I won't be the announcer of my defeat. `I will miss
GENEVIEVE Tessa Roberts I opened my mouth and closed it again. It can't be her. The figure is a young lady with flattened blond hair, a shapely figure, and glossy skin. She had full, perky cheeks and alert eyes. `You don`t remember me? It's Navalie Rhodes. The girl you stole Kyle from in college?` I gasped at the recognition. Ava Rhodes. They had been friends in college until Kyle started showing interest in her, and Ava got jealous. Their friendship fell apart, and they became sworn enemies. At last, Ava had gotten what she wanted—Kyle. The sweet twist of fate! `I remember you, Ava. It's good to see you after so many years. I heard you started a fashion label in France. Are you here to expand the business?` She laughed, taking a full glance at me. `That's none of your business, Mrs. King. Oh, sorry, you are just plain Miss Roberts. You know, it's funny how you fought hard to keep Kyle, and he divorced you in less than a day with nothing to compensate you. That's so pathetic, dear
Kyle KingI watched Tessa and the chauffeur arrange her luggage in the Porsche while my mother taunted her. I should stop my mom, but Tessa was taking care of her by giving her the silent treatment, and it was working well. I smiled a bit and dropped to the bed. I was going to miss Tessa, but not for long. I finally had the woman I had always wanted in my life—Ava—and from our last-night conversations, I know it won't be long before a baby comes into the family.I groaned, trying to suppress the memories of Tessa, but they won. Tessa was that college girl who was popular because of her grades and her family. She had few friends, and one was Ava, whom he had eyes on. He tried to get Ava, but she wasn't ready for a deep relationship, even though she liked him. So, he decided to go for Tessa, who had been crushing on him. She didn't know his family needed an heir, and marriage was the only way he could take the position. He hid from her and made sure he pretended he was in love with her
GENEVIEVE Tessa ROBERTSThe flight home was long and pretty boring because I kept thinking about what Kyle said and the years I invested in his life. Closing the book I was reading, I yawned, and the phone conversation I had with Vera slowly replayed.`I still can't believe that Kyle left you for Ava! That`s a step down, honestly, and I think he should have done better.` Vera said.I sighed, massaging my temples. `Forget it, Vee. I am just glad I am out of that house and coming home. I also have a surprise for you too.`She groaned, `You know I don't like surprises, so please spill the beans right now!``No. You've got to wait until I land in Arizona. I have really missed home and my parents. I hope you didn't tell them?` I asked, remembering the last fight I had with my mom.`I didn`t. I still feel you should have called and informed them about the latest update. I am sure they would forgive you immediately, Tessa. It's been six years already.` she replied sadly. The fight between me
