CHAPTER NINETEEN

By morning, Eric was out of bed before I woke up. I started my day in a bad mood because he had let me go to sleep in tears and I just felt like he didn’t care about my feelings and maybe he didn’t really love me—or maybe I was being too dramatic. I had to cheer myself up with my Ariana grande playlist because there was no way I was going to Kate’s engagement party in a sour mood.

“You look pretty.”

Isabel said as she knocked and entered my room. I was putting on my gold earrings—courtesy Eric, did I even own anything bought with my own money?

“Thanks. I’m going for Kate’s wedding.”

I told her, sliding my hands down my emerald satin dress. My hair was styled in a neat bun and my makeup was only a red lipstick and thick mascara.

“I know, Kendall told me, we chat a lot.”

She shrugged.

“That’s sweet Isabel, You have a nice friend now.”

“I know, right. She’s such a cool friend. I wish I can come with you, you know, to see her.”

She said, sadly.

“Isabel, your Dad—”

“You can talk
