By morning, Eric was out of bed before I woke up. I started my day in a bad mood because he had let me go to sleep in tears and I just felt like he didn’t care about my feelings and maybe he didn’t really love me—or maybe I was being too dramatic. I had to cheer myself up with my Ariana grande playlist because there was no way I was going to Kate’s engagement party in a sour mood.“You look pretty.”Isabel said as she knocked and entered my room. I was putting on my gold earrings—courtesy Eric, did I even own anything bought with my own money?“Thanks. I’m going for Kate’s wedding.”I told her, sliding my hands down my emerald satin dress. My hair was styled in a neat bun and my makeup was only a red lipstick and thick mascara.“I know, Kendall told me, we chat a lot.”She shrugged.“That’s sweet Isabel, You have a nice friend now.”“I know, right. She’s such a cool friend. I wish I can come with you, you know, to see her.”She said, sadly.“Isabel, your Dad—”“You can talk
I must have looked like I saw a ghost as I stared at Gina in a frozen position.“Liv, are you alright?”Kate asked, concerned.“Yes just..”I muttered, shaking my head.“I hope we can be good friends Liv.”Gina told me.“Sure.” I said, smiling uneasily.I couldn’t be in the same room with Eric’s ex mistress plus she kept giving me this creepy look. I had to leave with Isabel although Kate asked me to stay a little longer. When we got back home, I told Eric all about the party excluding Gina’s part, I didn’t want him paranoid over nothing. We’ve had too much problems already.I had to leave Eric’s estate for the weekend, my mom was discharged and I really missed her, having her back in the apartment again all healthy and happy made me the happiest. It was just like old times, when it was just her and I against the world—nothing complicated.“Liv, when are you going to introduce him to me?”My mom asked, cutting me off guard as I dished out her meal.“Mom..” I giggled, stalli
When I and Eric got to my apartment, my mom had locked herself in the bathroom, she was shivering and looked so scared when I found her.“Mom, did you see who it was?” I asked, holding her tightly.“No.. just a black clothing.” She muttered and I caught the curious look she was giving to Eric.I’d have to tell her who he was sooner or later.“Liv, Frederick is almost here, just pack up a few of her stuff.” Eric said and I nodded, moving away to pack up her stuff....I had expected Eric to book a suite or something for my mom so I was really surprised when he brought us to a beautiful farm house around his estate.“Eric?”I called, confused as we entered into the house. It was well furnished and with a peaceful serenity. “Your mom will live here from now on, I’ve already employed four securities, two maids and whatever else will make your mom feel secured—I suddenly interrupted him with a big hug, I had to, this man made me cry for many reasons but now, I was so gratef
Most of the customers I had at the bakery were famous people courtesy of Eric’s influence. I once had a super famous artiste order one of my special chocolate muffins.Today was just like any other day, I was instructing my workers—two college girls when a one time famous figure entered my bakery.“Oh my God! Sophia Taylor!.”One of the girls gasped, in awe.I was equally in awe too, Sophia Taylor was a popular actress I loved watching during my high school days. She was the most beautiful person to me, her skin was like glass, her hair was a lushy honey blonde, she was slender, perfect height with great curves ad that signature bright red lipstick she always wore.“Sophia Taylor, this is a pleasure.”I said, blushing and surprisingly she pulled me in for a hug.“Nice to meet you, Olivia.”She said, rubbing my back a little.I was a bit thrown aback by this but too flustered to think much about it.“What would you like? You can take a look at our specials..”I told her, try
Eric booked a girls’ trip to Las Vegas for my mom, Isabel and I. He has done so many nice things for me since I met him but this was the sweetest thing ever because although he wasn’t happy about letting me travel without him or Isabel traveling far for the first time , he agreed and paid for everything. After settling in the beach house Eric booked for us, I went out with Isabel for bikini shopping, we were going to the beach for some fun and I wanted her to choose her first bikini. As we shopped for some nice things, I felt the sudden presence of someone behind me and was greatly shocked to see Gina.“Liv!”She called, appearing as surprised as I was.“Gina! What are you doing here?”I asked, looking around.“Kate didn’t tell you? I moved here.”She replied and I thought of how big of a coincidence that was.“Isabel has grown into a lovely girl.”She said, looking past me. I quickly turned to check on Isabel smiling at a pretty pink bikini.“Yes she has.”I told Gina. I
In about five hours, Eric was in Las Vegas and there was an immediate search for Isabel. It was dark and raining outside as we stayed in doors hoping for the best outcome of the search."Any news?"I asked Eric who has been dead silent since he arrived. He sat alone at the diner deep in thoughts and that made me feel really unsettled, coupled with the fact that Isabel was missing, everything was a mess."None."He muttered, clenching his jaw."Baby, I promised, she'll be found..""When?"He asked, turning to me, his gaze was harsh."Soon."I assured him. He exhaled and shook his head."If only you had listened, if only you would just respect the boundaries I set for the safety of my daughter none of this would have happened." He told me and those words left me speechless for a few seconds."Eric, this isn't my fault." I told him."Then is it mine?"He asked, his eyes red rimmed. His attitude was beginning to scare me."You know what? It is actually mine, I let you dictate
When I got to Eric’s house, I met him in the gardens staring at the roses with so much attentiveness that he didn’t know when I was directly beside him.“Eric.”I called and he jumped a little before turning to me. What was he thinking about?“Just three days and it felt like three years.”He muttered, his eyes taking in all of me.I noticed his eyes were sad and had dark circles around them like he hadn’t slept since I left. In fact he looked thinner and a bit pale.“You didn’t call or texted so I assumed you didn’t want to see me.”I shrugged.“Why didn’t you call me to pay for your bakery reconstruction ? You spent so much of your money doing that.”He asked.“I wanted to do it myself. I had the money thanks to you.”I told him.He looked at me for a moment and then exhaled.“Let’s go inside.”He said and held my hand. I hesitated for a moment before following him.We sat in the lounge in different chairs and I kept looking out for Isabel’s appearance but it didn’t c
Everything I did, I did for her, now it was all for nothing, pointless. My mom died, after everything, she died.Kate had to cancel her honeymoon flight to attend the funeral which by the way, was a brief one and the tears were unending. We returned to my apartment to pack up my stuff, I couldn’t live there anymore, memories of my mom were everywhere, I had to move.“Liv, someone’s here to see you.”Kate told me a few minutes after I settled in.It was Sean.“Sean.”I called, receiving his hug.He felt so nice and warm and his cool cologne tickled my nerves.“I’m deeply sorry for missing the funeral, my flight was delayed..”“It’s fine. I promise.”I told him, reflexively splaying my hands on his chest. We couldn’t take our eyes off each other for seconds until Kate faked a cough.“Okay, I’ll go make dinner.”She winked at me and left.Sean and I chuckled and went ahead to sit.“So uh, how’s California?”I asked, trying to start up a conversation.“Nice.”He shrugged.
