My legs were weak in the knees as I squeezed through the guests. He was here, his scent was still very fresh.

“You sure about this?” Amber asked, struggling to keep up with me. I nodded, not wanting to raise too much attention to myself but the guests attention wasn’t even on me nor on the plentiful food and drinks, they were all discussing something else. Maybe his presence had spooked them enough to get them all on board with on topic.

Even if I had not yet seen him yet I knew he was close, his scent was still thick in the air. He was here and somehow that did not excite me like I would have thought it should. It scared me. My father may have postponed my my betrothal to Dwight but Dwight was still here, in this place. And Dwight was as ferocious as they come. I had literarily seen him toss a wolf that was his size about the arena like the wolf was a rag doll. Who knows what would happen if he meets Asha. It would for sure not be good, and I would be in the center of it all.
