What was that for? You could have killed her!" Luca yelled at Zane, reprimanding him. Zane's breathing was labored and heavy, his body trying so hard to handle the rage that was shaking his body and my body trembled in response out of fear. "Are you okay?" Luca had dropped down on his knees by my side as he spoke to me. I quickly turned my arm over, hiding the red mark that had just burnt into my flesh announcing my first target and dooming my heart. "I'm fi–fine," I stammered before my eyes flicked up to Zane. A deep fear lodged itself in my throat at the sight of his red eyes burning hot like two coals ignited by hate. I could not stand to see the hate in his eyes and so I lowered mine and my right hand went up to my throat, rubbing where Zane’s fingers had nearly broken my neck. I could not believe it was those same hands that had saved me from dying at my father's hands just two days back that had almost subjected me to the same fate. I had come to understand that it was my eyes that had triggered him and I had also stopped trying to tell him I was Isla. Him being on my hit list had made everything a whole lot complicated and telling him such unrealistic story would only get my head to be hung up at the entrance to the Black Moon pack. "Are you sure? You sounded like you were in a whole lot of pain," Luca insisted and I gently pulled the sleeves of my dress to cover the red mark on my hand. I nodded my head awkwardly then turned to look at him with a sad smile which I had forced to my lips. My eyes met his brown eyes and they were so heavy with concern but then they immediately grew twice their size with horror right before he jumped up and away from me. "What in the full moon is this sorcery?" Luca exclaimed shocked, pointing to me, his face twisted in fear and white like he had just seen a ghost. "How is this possible? You have her eyes!" Luca whispered eerily. "She is a witch! And she needs to be burned at the stake. That will teach her not to ever mock me!" Zane growled and charged towards me, his red eyes burning crimson and his fingers turned to claws. I scampered away from him on my hands and legs, whimpering out of fear like that of a lost puppy but Luca swiftly ran and stood over me, shielding me from Zane's wrath. "You don't know for a fact that she is a witch. And the eyes could just be a coincidence or maybe she has some type of disease or something," Luca tried to reason with Zane and calm him down but his voice didn't sound convincing enough. This was because he himself was still shook by my eyes and I could only wonder why my eyes were such a big deal. Zane was not happy that he had been stopped from exerting his wrath and he gave me a long death stare that tore through my skin and sank deep into my heart. He then shoved Luca angrily to the side before throwing his head back, opening his mouth and letting out a growl. My body almost melted at the size of his teeth and the entire forest was just as terrified as I was as the birds flew away from the trees, chirping frantically while the sounds of hooves scampering through the bushes filled the air. With a grunt he turned and walked away leaving Luca and I. Luca held out a hand to me and I took it, using him as a brace to pull myself up from the ground. I winced as a sharp pain shot through my arm and my back. "Are you sure you are okay?" Luca asked again. He had caught sight of my wince. I nodded, my throat too dry by fear to answer. Then he nodded too and started after Zane, leaving me alone. Standing alone, I turned around, taking the unfamiliar terrain of dense trees before me and I was confused. I did not know what to do or where to go. Turning back to the retreating backs of Zane and Luca, I began to drag my weak limbs after them. It seemed my new body had not yet gotten well used to being alive and it was a chore trying to do so. I trailed far behind them but I kept on following their tracks for hours on end eager not to lose their tracks. Slowly, the day started to lose its light as the sun started it's journey home to give way to the moonnand it was at this moment that I finally stumbled on them. They had made their camp next to a huge Boulder. The sweet aroma of a rabbit on fire made my mouth water and I clutched my stomach to stop it from its grumbling excitement. But I stood lurking behind a huge tree wondering if I should go to them or not. My body still shivered at the thought of what Zane had done to me and I was skeptical of being in his presence again. I moved through the darkness, scanning their camp and I saw Luca bent over, his back towards me. I kept kn moving, my eyes eagerly scanning for Zane but he was no where in sight. All of a sudden, I felt a huge presence looming over me. The hairs on my skin stood on end as a chill, eerie breeze caressed my skin. I held my breath and my heart stopped beating. Just then I heard a whisper, or what I thought was a whisper, the warm breeze of a breath tingling my ears. I did not wait to see what it was or who it was, without a thought, I took to my heels, running through the forest not caring where I was going to until I stopped abruptly, a gasp escaping my lips. I had run directly into something so strong and hard and it was not until I had taken a couple of steps back that I realized it was Zane. My eyes grew wider on seeing him and he looked just as shocked to see me. He was shirtless, his bare chest kissed by the subtle light of the moon. It felt like a sin to look upon such beauty. We stood looking into each others eyes, both unsure on how to act as we had both been caught in uncomfortable positions. My brain begged my eyes not to take them off his and look down to where his right hand hung between his legs but my heart forced my eyes to look down. The short war was won by my heart and I slowly, lowered my eyes, letting them travel down his naked chest, lingering for a while to take in his abs before finally down to below his waist, where his trouser was wide open, revealing the most scary yet most beautiful thing I had ever seen– his penis.ZANEI saw the glow of her golden eyes before I saw her. The two golden orbs shone through the pitch blackness like the sun, birghtening my face and making the shock on my face more visible.I tried to move my hands but it was as if her eyes had taken my body captive and I stood as still as a statue, entranced by her eyes which glowed better than the moon.My heart thumped as her eyes slowly traveled over my body their gaze leaving a trail of heat on my naked flesh causing my breath to hitch a little bit whenever her golden gaze went lower and lower until I finally stopped breathing altogether as her eyes fell on my total nakedness.I had been guarding the perimeter of our camp when I had decided to ease myself and I had just unbuckled my trousers and whipped myself out when something had slammed into me hard. I had not had time to react when I had realized it was her and my shock deepened. I watched as her eyes went wide with fear to shock and then to awe as she ogled my naked body
ISLA"You must be hungry," the delicious aroma of roasted rabbit wafted through my nose as Luca thrust a piece of the meat to my face. My stomach growled in response and I bowed my head in embarrassment as I reached for the meat.I gulped the meat hungrily, ripping the warm, tender flesh from the little bones– my teeth and tongue fighting to have a taste of the meat in my mouth."Who are you exactly?" Luca asked and I suddenly realized that he was still there. I had been so focused on the meat that I had totally forgotten him.My teeth had stopped moving as I slowly met his eyes looking down at me."Your identity is really a cause for concern. Especially those eyes of yours," he explained.and I lowered my eyes from his, suddenly feeling so self conscious at them."Zane thinks you're a witch and would love to have your head as a trophy it is be–""I am not a witch!" My voice was tense and so was my entire body."You've mentioned that before. So who are you? And what were you running aw
ISLAThe dagger gleamed brightly, the moonlight accentuating the intricate designs on its handle which my fingers were wrapped around and held tightly and raised above my head.Gently, as if any abrupt movement would cause Luca to pounce on me, I lowered the dagger. His eyes had grown unbelievably large and they had a feral gleam to them, looking almost like that of an animals."Please don't kill me, I can explain," My voice cracked with fear, some of the words lost and unspoken as I whispered to Luca. "What other explanation do you have other than what I have seen?" Luca's eyes burned through the darkness with anger i never thought he could have."It is not what it looks like I promise," A movement from the side caught my eye and my heart leapt into my mouth as I turned to see Zane stirring.A silent scream escaped my mouth which hung open as both Luca and I watched to see Zane wake but seconds passed and a gentle snore filled the air.The relief I felt from Zane not waking up was s
ZANEI jerked up from sleep, my right hand jumping to my throat where my fingers curled around it as my eyes which were wide awake frantically scanned the entire area. Seeing nothing in sight, my shoulders drooped and my body relaxed as I slowly lowered myself back to the ground. Panting, I gently rubbed my neck as I replayed the dream I just had in my head. I had dreamt that a dagger had been held against my neck, slowly slicing into the flesh as blood flowed freely from it. I tried to free myself from my killer's grasp but the more I struggled, the more I was bound. I tried to see my killers face but a bright light covered the face and I was left uncertain about their identity. The dream had felt so real that I could still feel the cold sharpness of the dagger tingling my neck and the raw pain I felt as it sliced through.I looked at the moon and from its waning shine I knew that it would soon be daylight and so I closed my eyes and tried to fall back to sleep but it was impossible
ISLA The sight of his arousal was a shock to me and I did not know when I got to my feet and started to run, chased by my embarrassment. I didn't stop running till I was stopped short by Luca."Woah! Whats chasing you?" Luca broke my run, grabbing me in his arms."What did you see? Is there something out there?" His eyes roamed around the path I had just run in from seeking for my pursuer but he say nothing."No, I'm fine," I was limp in his arms as I panted and tried to catch my breath and steady my heart which was beating wildly. Finally, I pulled myself together and pulled out of his embrace and I held my head down, my eyes avoiding his."Are you sure?" His voice was concerned and he reached out his hand to touch me but I flinched away from me."Did you by any chance see Zane? He still isn't back," I caught a tinge of hurt in his voice but it was gone just as fast as it had appeared. It was as if the sun had grown ice cold as its touch burned coldly on my skin. I tried to breathe but it was as if my lungs had given up on the task of keeping me alive. There was no way I was going to set my eyes on my father ever again nor on all those people who had danced and rejoiced as they had set me on fire to die."Why are you standing there?
