ZANE
I saw the glow of her golden eyes before I saw her. The two golden orbs shone through the pitch blackness like the sun, birghtening my face and making the shock on my face more visible. I tried to move my hands but it was as if her eyes had taken my body captive and I stood as still as a statue, entranced by her eyes which glowed better than the moon. My heart thumped as her eyes slowly traveled over my body their gaze leaving a trail of heat on my naked flesh causing my breath to hitch a little bit whenever her golden gaze went lower and lower until I finally stopped breathing altogether as her eyes fell on my total nakedness. I had been guarding the perimeter of our camp when I had decided to ease myself and I had just unbuckled my trousers and whipped myself out when something had slammed into me hard. I had not had time to react when I had realized it was her and my shock deepened. I watched as her eyes went wide with fear to shock and then to awe as she ogled my naked body down to where I held myself between my legs. My ears pricked up as they picked up the hitch in her breathing and the soft gasp that escaped her pink lips which had fallen open as her eyes fell to my penis. If I hadn't been a werewolf, I would never had heard the soft sound of her swallowing and my eyes would not have noticed the knot that had formed at her throat. All my senses seemed to be fully awake except for my sense of smell which had not picked up her scent when she had been in proximity. I would have smelled her way before she bumped into me but it was still absurd that even though she was standing next to me, I still could not pick up her scent. It was as if she was water– without any odor. But I could pick up the musky smell of the warm juices that flowed from between a woman's thighs. The smell was faint at first, almost not there but it had now saturated the air and my nose like a strong cologne and I was now heady with its smell that whispered of forbidden promises. The urine that I had eagerly wanted to let out had miraculously disappeared and in its place, was my hot blood rushing through the length of me causing my penis to get so hard and grow to its full length of eight inches. It was at this time that I saw the fear creep back into her eyes as she be7held the full monstrosity of my manhood. Slowly, her eyes traveled back to my face and once again, she was looking into my eyes. "...Don't be afraid. No one will hurt you ever again. I will protect you..." my voice replayed in my head as the memory of my promise to Isla replayed itself in my head and all of a sudden, I was reminded of the death of my mate and my promise to her which I couldn't keep and the golden eyes before me stood as a reminder– mocking me of how all I had ever wanted had been taken from me before my eyes. My hands turned into fists and with the speed of light and a growl accompanying me, I pounced on the golden eyed witch, her face twisting just as my body collided with hers. "You witch! I will have your head hanging on my neck by the morning," my face was barely inches from hers, my teeth gaping over her skull. All I needed was one bite and her skull would be cracked open but my wolf held me back against my will. Deprived of taking my revenge on her for the second time, I pushed myself off of her, my body shaking uncontrollably with pent up rage and then I reached down ignoring her flinching and attempt at defending herself with fists held high and took a hand full of her long hair which felt like a silk dress in my hands. Her screams filled the air as I pulled her by her hair back to the camp causing my head to get unusually heavy and stuffy. The piercing sounds of her screams nearly made me run mad as they8 brought back memory of how Isla had called on me with her screams to come and save her and I had only saved her from that pain only to take her to find another pain that took her life. Rather than quench my anger, the thought of Isla further ignited the fire of rage that was burning within me as once again, the golden eyed witch was mocking me of my grief and reminding me of how I had failed my mate and watched her die in my hands and I tightened my grip on her hair and pulled her strongly behind me. "What the fuck is going on?!" Luca yelled angrily as I flung her on the ground between him and I back at the camp, her body landing in a heap, missing the fire by a few feet and the image of Isla being burnt at the stake flashed before my eyes. "I caught her lurking behind the trees," My eyes were closed tightly trying to erase the image of Isla burning at the stake as I replied Luca. "She was spying on us so that she could know how best to hex us," I added. Luca looked down at the cuddled figure, her body racking with whimpers and I could tell from his eyes which had turned dark brown that he did not agree with me on this. "What?!" I barked angrily at him, "I told you this was a witch and we should have–" "I am no witch!" I was almost thrown aback at the intensity of her retort. Her head was lifted eye and she was looking at me with her golden eyes. They were now a deep golden, almost amber and they bore right through me with their anger and unconsciously, I took a step backwards, reeled by the intensity of her eyes. Luca looked from her to me and then his eyes fell on my opened trouser. The blood rushed to my face and I remembered that I was still naked. "Seems there is more to this story than meets the eye," Luca said suggestively. My face turned red with embarrassment and I quickly pulled my zipper up, not saying a word before I turned and walked away leaving the two of them. Luca could think what he wanted, that was up to him. "Zane!" I heard Lucas's approaching footsteps as he called out to me but I ignored him. "Zane?!" He called once again and I came to a stop. "What has gotten over you? You are not acting like yourself," he sounded concerned. "Nothing has gotten over me," I growled through clenched teeth, " That girl is trouble, I can feel it and it is best we get rid of her before she brings that trouble upon us." "But why? The fact that she has golden eyes is just a coincidence! Fate must be playing a joke on you and not some conspiracy you are cooking up!" Luca responded. "Isla is–" "Don't you dare say her name!" I had pounced on him anf would have been on him if he had not been fast enough to take a couple of steps back. Scared and happy to be unharmed, Luca nodded his head and rose his hands up in an exxagerated act of surrender. "I think this quest was a bad idea. You should be back home, mourning her loss and not here, trying to avenge her," Luca said calmly. My eyes closed shut, the sight of Isla laying in my arms, blood flowing from her slit throat playing in my head. "So what are we going to do with her?" Luca's voice cut through my reverie and the image in my head disappeared. I remained quiet and Luca went on, "I suggest we keep her with us. It will be easier to keep an eye on her and protect ourselves if she turns out to be what you suspect rather than let her roam around, putting us at her mercy." I opened my eyes and looked towards her. She had now gotten on her feet and was eyeing the rabbit that was was slowly roasting on the fire. A deep groaning of a 'NO' was dancing on the tip of my tongue but it got stuck there and refused to be let out, filling my mouth and taking my ability to talk. There was no way I was ever going to be near her. But yet, I was still kind of drawn to her like a magnet. She disgusted me yet there was something fascinating about her. "Do what you wish but keep her far away from me or else..." I said and then walked away.ISLA"You must be hungry," the delicious aroma of roasted rabbit wafted through my nose as Luca thrust a piece of the meat to my face. My stomach growled in response and I bowed my head in embarrassment as I reached for the meat.I gulped the meat hungrily, ripping the warm, tender flesh from the little bones– my teeth and tongue fighting to have a taste of the meat in my mouth."Who are you exactly?" Luca asked and I suddenly realized that he was still there. I had been so focused on the meat that I had totally forgotten him.My teeth had stopped moving as I slowly met his eyes looking down at me."Your identity is really a cause for concern. Especially those eyes of yours," he explained.and I lowered my eyes from his, suddenly feeling so self conscious at them."Zane thinks you're a witch and would love to have your head as a trophy it is be–""I am not a witch!" My voice was tense and so was my entire body."You've mentioned that before. So who are you? And what were you running aw

His eyes had grown unbelievably large and they had a feral gleam to them, looking almost like that of an animals."Please don't kill me, I can explain," My voice cracked with fear, some of the words lost and unspoken as I whispered to Luca. "What other explanation do you have other than what I have seen?" Luca's eyes burned through the darkness with anger i never thought he could have."It is not what it looks like I promise," A movement from the side caught my eye and my heart leapt into my mouth as I turned to see Zane stirring.A silent scream escaped my mouth which hung open as both Luca and I watched to see Zane wake but seconds passed and a gentle snore filled the air.The relief I felt from Zane not waking up was s
Chapter 1ISLAMy heart sank as the green porcelain vase slipped from my hands and crashed to the ground shattering into pieces.I heard the sound of the whip before it landed with a sting on my back and I clenched my teeth and wrapped my hands around my head to protect it."Wretched being!" The guard spat as he whipped me over and over again causing me to writhe like a snake in pain."All you bring is bad luck. You're a curse! A curse!""Please don't tell my father," I cried out on my knees as I tried to dodge the whip and also save myself from the wrath of my father.A nasty snarl appeared on the face of the guard as I begged. "I definitely will tell him. He needs to know that you're still cursing this pack with your presence and that you will soon doom us all!" "Please I beg you!" I wailed both from the searing pain of the whip and the thought of my father's reaction to hearing the report. I could already see his face twist with hate at me and tears burned at the corner of my eyes

My beta and best friend, Luca asked as we crouched in the thick woods just outside the Red Moon pack.I did not respond to him, not out of anger but because I myself did not know the answer.I had been on a wild goose chase for a woman whose face I did not know and whose name I had never heard of. ISLAI had woken up to find myself in the arms of a stranger. I screamed and tried to run away but he held me."Where am I? What am I doing here?" My panicked eyes roamed around the room trying to take my surroundings?"Who are you?" I demanded, my eyes locked on his red eyes."You are in the Black Moon pack and you are here to be my bride," he answered flatly.I stared at him, my mouth agape, unable to comprehend what I had just heard. Surely, I had misheard him. This must be some cruel jest. “Bride?” My voice came out hoarse and broken, the single word heavy with disbelief. “Yes,” he said, his blood-red eyes watching me with an intensity that made my already fragile heart lurch. “You belong to me now.” I scrambled away from him, pressing myself against the headboard of the luxurious bed as if I could disappear into it. Then, he appeared. A figure emerged from the shadows, tall and foreboding, his crimson eyes glowing like embers in the black. "Who are you?" I whispered.
