CHAPTER 73

ALPHA DENVER’S POV

The tension still hung heavy in the air and we kept on staring at each other. Then she blinked twice, gave me a brief glance, and looked away. She looked like she just collected herself from a moment of forgetting she had been staring at me and I smiled to myself when she audibly cleared her throat and turned toward the elevator doors.

I could tell that she was either nervous or just felt awkward and looking at her, I wondered what she could possibly have running through her mind at the moment.

The elevator finally stopped and I watched the doors slide open. She was the first to exit and I rushed after her.

Together, we walked into my office and I closed the door, making sure to lock it too so Cillian wouldn’t barge in like he did sometimes. Then I turned around to face her and I was caught by surprise when she grabbed me by the collar and pushed my back against the wall.
