James’s POV

How the hell had Chad managed to let Jill agree for him to also stay in her pack. I kept looking at him the whole way back to his pack. I mean I was happy about it, but also super worried. I was hoping that Chad was not expecting Jill to forgive him straight away and they would go back to the way they were. I know that love is blind, but he must have seen that she is not the same Jill. She is angry and broken. Sure, she puts on the fake smile, but we can all see that she is not ok.

“You don’t need to keep looking at me like that”

“I am worried”

“I know, I also know that Jill had no intention of opening herself up to me. I just want to help her”

“I am scared that you might try to push her and break her even more”
