Rion's POV
A tear rolled down his cheek.
“.... That's…. That's not the only reason why I left. Something's happening in the Black Moon Pack, something really big. Alpha Zane hasn't made an appearance since his return and Isla seems to have taken control, she's ordering everyone around. The atmosphere in the palace is tense, foreboding.
I've heard whispers from the maids. There was a rumor going on that Alpha Ezra was coming to the Pack to take over.
It was just very scary. With Jaselyn gone, the Alpha inactive for goddess knows why, Isla and that cousin of hers, Hadrian controlling the palace, I knew everything was bound to go to hell so I fled as soon as I got the chance.
I approached the remaining visitors from Blue Solstice and convinced them to bring me here along with your parents.
I know you hate me and…..”
My grip on his collar loosened and I stepped backwards in shock. What did he ju
Jaselyn's POVThe door to my room opened and Rion walked in.“Have you had your lunch yet?” He asked as he took a seat beside me on the bed.“Yeah. What about you?”“I haven't had the chance to eat anything yet. I've been busy with a few things.”“That's no excuse. How can you be so worried about me all the time but you neglect your own health? That won't do.” I scolded.“You're right, I'll try to focus more on my health.” He asserted.“You really think I'm going to let you off just like that?” I say and get off the bed, taking his hand and pulling him upwards. He stands up and I direct him out of the room. He seems confused but lets me lead him.“Where are we going? You should be in your room resting.” He finally speaks.“How many times do I have to say that I'm fine. I really am feeling OK. It's my turn to take
Jaselyn's POV“Are you sure about this? I could just have a maid prepare it. You might have trouble finding a few things.” He proposed.“Don't worry, I'll figure it out. Just have a little faith in me.” I maintained and that seemed to cease any other protest he might have had.“Fine, I'll let you handle it.” He threw his hands up in mock surrender and I rolled my eyes.“What would you like to have?”“I'm not picky with food. Anything's fine as long as it's edible and it's filling.” He tossed out.I had not expected such a vague reply.“So basically, you want me to decide.”“Yeah. You're cooking for me for the first time and I trust your choice. Surprise me.” He winked and my stomach did that twisting thing again.Damn this bond, making me sensitive and coaxing these reactions from me. I need to focus on what I'm going to
Jaselyn's POVWhy? Why is this coming up now? I'm trying to forget him, I really am…..but I can't help it. I want to know what was so important that Rion had to bring him up. Even though I won't admit it out loud, I really hope that Zane is alright.I try to steady my voice as I speak, willing my fingers to stop trembling and just grip the damn spatula properly as I continue stirring, trying to act as unbothered as possible.“What about Zane?”I can feel Rion's eyes on me, he focuses his gaze on my face, as if trying to gauge my reaction as he speaks.“The brat said that before he left Black Moon, Isla and Hadrian were in charge of the Pack and there was a rumor going around that Alpha Ezra was coming to take over from Zane. And as for Zane, he suddenly isolated himself from everyone else, deciding to stay in his room and only speak to Isla.”Once again, another chill ran down my spine and my stoma
Isla's POVThe merger was successful and father's coronation happened a few days ago. But it was not without some minor disturbances. When the news was announced to the members of the Black Moon Pack, they refused to believe it and asked to see their Alpha, Zane.Of course that is out of the question so I had Blade use a little persuasion on them. Once one person was badly wounded and beaten to a pulp, the other pack members saw reason and complied.I have the entire military force of both the Black Moon and Rain Forest Packs, none of the Pack members would be able to go against me unless they had a death wish. Thus, though we had to use a little coercion, all the members of the Black Moon Pack were present for father's coronation and now everyone knows him as the supreme Alpha. There is no longer a Rain Forest or Black Moon Pack. From now on, both packs have become known collectively as the Moon Forest Pack.A lot of adjustments are s
Isla's POVThere was a knock on the door and Blade walked into the room. Talia excused herself immediately while I took a seat on the rocking chair, balancing the baby on my lap.I grabbed the bottle with the already prepared baby formula, it was still warm thankfully.I balanced the baby in my arms, cradling his head properly before proceeding to feed him from the bottle. He's a peaceful baby. He rarely cries, unless he's hungry or the “urges” come. He drank from his bottle quietly while Blade watched me intently, not speaking a word.“If you have something on your mind, you should go ahead and say it.” I prompt, not taking my eyes off the child in my lap.“You're surprisingly good at this.” He said casually and I scoffed.“He's my son. If I don't care for him, who will? Just because I destroy and betray people doesn't mean I can't be a good mother.I've always wanted to be
Jaselyn's POVSince our little moment in the kitchen, I have to admit I've been looking forward to spending more time with Rion. The doctor has finally confirmed that I'm healthy and strong enough to go back to my routine life so I'm no longer restricted to my room like a prisoner.Today is the day that Rion and I finally appear before Alpha Xyne. I feel really nervous because not only is he the Alpha of this Pack but he's Rion's father and by extension, my father in-law. And yes, I definitely feel the pressure to impress.I haven't gotten close enough with Rion's birth family, at least not as much as I would like to. Luna Daryna and I have a cordial relationship, we chat casually every now and then but there's still an air of formality. Not because she's the Luna of the Pack but because she's always busy, handling a lot of things so there's barely any chance to see her.Larose is still keeping her distance, she only sends a shor
Jaselyn's POVLuna Daryna passed Rion a new pair of gloves as he moved towards Alpha Xyne.“Dear, this is Rion, our long lost son.” Luna Daryna introduced.Rion stood by Alpha Xyne's bedside and I saw the older man's eyes blink as if in disbelief before widening in surprise. A heartwarming smile followed next.“It….. It really is you. My son…..” Alpha Xyne rasped, slowly reaching out a trembling hand to touch Rion.Rion seemed to hesitate for a bit but finally reached out and took the older man's hand, gently squeezing it in reassurance.“You shouldn't stress yourself, I'm right here.” Rion said and I saw Luna Daryna's eyes fill with tears.“Bless you, child. You've made…. this old man very happy.” Alpha Xyne said, voice filled with emotion.“For so many years have I lived with the pain of not being able to protect you, of failing you as a pa
Larose’s POVUnwanted. A substitute. Second best. An afterthought. That's how I've felt my entire life. Why, you might ask? Well, because I was born 2 minutes too late.No one knows how much I've suffered, how neglected I've felt this whole time.I despise him.I hate him so much that the mere sight of him makes me sick. I absolutely abhor the fact that we share the same DNA. He shouldn't be a part of this family, he shouldn't exist at all.RionThe brother that has haunted me all my life despite not being physically present or having a name. Actually, he did have a name.Until we met him in person, mother called him Aeron. It was the name she had intended to give him before he got lost.Being born a girl to an Alpha father can be quite unfortunate but being born as a female twin to a missing future heir is far worse.I felt practically invisible. Until I grew up to a knowledgeable age, before we knew h
