Kate ignored the question and continued with the chicken in her hand.

“I’m sorry if you don’t want to answer the question.”

“I don’t want the baby.” She tossed the remaining chunk of protein, losing her appetite. “I don’t want it,” she repeated.

“Have you told Denzel?”

Kate grabbed the plastic bottle of water and gulped half of its content. “He wants it…it’s not his fucking choice to make. I’m not even his damned wife.”

Her statement was enough to explain what had ensured. They had argued about the baby and Denzel left the hospital.

“Have you told him why you don’t want it?”

“Firstly, I told him I didn’t want any freaking baby yet. He didn’t have to change my pills. That’s terrible.”

Collins grew quiet.

“I’m not even his wife yet. I don’t want to have a baby when I’m not married but he seems to be in haste to grant his father’s wishes these days. I’m not ready for that, Collins.”
