Eva threw her eyes open and caught Daniel scowling at her and waving her phone in his hand.

She sat up. “What’s wrong?”

“Eva, what the hell did you do?”

She caught the sight of her phone in his hand again and realized he knew. “What are you talking about?” she feigned.

“Oh…” Daniel pressed the screen and Denzel’s voicemail played. For a minute, the room was quiet, save for the angry voice of the billionaire blasting through the phone speakers. Daniel dropped the phone.
