Chapter 16

A huge smile spread across my face as I bit my lower lip to stop myself from squeaking and tittering. 

“What text is making you this giddy?” The voice of the counselor interrupted from behind, and I shook, hiding away my phone.

I didn’t even know I hadn’t left her office. 

“Nothing…” I replied and scurried out. Whatever she just told me about the consequences of teacher and student relationships had vanished from my head. It really entered one ear and disappeared through the other. 

I was already in love with Mr. Leo, and there was nothing anyone could do to change that.

I couldn't concentrate on whatever was taught in school as my eyes kept glancing at the wall clock, waiting patiently for school to be over. 

My heart kept racing in joy as I thought of the moment when we would both be together in his house, away from the eyes of everyone. Just us. 

He really was in love with me, and I was sure he would explain to me why he was treating Helen that way. 

Leo's POV

The date with Helen was brief but the worst moment of my life. I had to block Diane so her calls won't interfere.

She was meant to visit me the same night, so I really wanted to get done with this stupid date and return back home. She was the girl I wanted to spend time with.

Never in my life had I thought I would end up in this situation where a lady would be in my mind almost every second. I watched as she broke down in sadness and pain back then outside my office after Helen pulled that stunt.

My former self wouldn't care at all. After all, I would be leaving this place as soon as I completed the mission, but my heart had changed. 

I didn't know when it all started, but I realized I had gone way deeper and lost in her charm that there was no way out.

The only reason I pulled this date night with her is to make sure it becomes a trend that we are dating just as the mafia don had demanded.

I faked a call, barely an hour in, claiming it was a family emergency, but I made sure we took pictures together, which she was so happy to post all over her socials.

If only she knew the danger she was putting herself through. Maybe if she had a little idea of who I was, she wouldn't have come close to me.

I drove back home at the exact time I had set with Diane, and she was there on the porch, knocking.

My headlight made her turn, and she squinted her eyes. I stayed in the car for a moment, admiring how elegant she was in her blue gown that flowed freely down above her knees.

As soon as she recognized it was my car, a pretty smile graced her face, those dreamy eyes making my heart flutter.

I stepped out of the car, and she ran to me in an embrace. The hug made shivers run down my spine, her boobs were pressing against my chest, and I was surprised to know that could turn me on so easily.

Diane was just my weakness, and she easily made me forget I was a mafia every damn time. The peace and warmth each time I heard her voice and felt her touch was increasingly becoming enough reason to want to make her mine. It was slowly becoming an obsession.

“Thank you for coming.” I whispered in her ear and kissed her on the neck.

“I came earlier and had to wait outside. You didn't tell me you would be out, and I couldn't reach you on the phone.” She whined with pouty lips, folding her arms.

“Yeah, I went for the date with Helen just as you heard in that voice recording she sent to you.” 

Her face drawn into a deep frown, all smiles vanishing as jealousy crept in.

“Oh, I forgot I was sharing you with her.” She shrugged, looking away.

“No, you aren't. I am only attracted to one woman.” 

“And that is her. After all, your career will be destroyed if we date. I understand your fear. So why did you invite me over?!” Her voice was low, and that excitement wasn't there anymore.

I parked in the garage and stepped out while she waited for me outside.

“Let's go in so I can tell you why I invited you.” I said, stretching my hand to her.

She took my hand without hesitation but also rolled her eyes, maybe to show she was angry at me, but it only made her damn sexy.

“Baby, if you keep doing that, I may lose control…” I breathed, and her eyes widened, those cheeks flushing red while she fought back the blush.

“Who is your baby? I hate you.”

I laughed as we entered my house, which was a simple bungalow, enough for a common teacher I portrayed to be.

“So this is where you stay…” she smiled, admiring it. “It is perfect for couples. How many women have you brought here aside from Helen, obviously? 

I could see she was still jealous.

“None. Only you. And I swore that the first lady I would bring here would be bound to be my queen forever.” 

“What?!” 

She exclaimed, her eyes sparkling as they stared at me. 

“I know it's a joke, but it's too much to use on me because I believe anything.” She rolled her eyes again and I felt for a moment that I had started a family.

I covered the space between us and grabbed her waist, pulling her to me.

“Between Helen and me, who do you enjoy their company more?” She asked, looking down at the floor. I held up her chin with a finger.

“Helen is our shield. To the public, I am dating her, but between us, it is you only…Do you understand that?” I whispered, and her eyes sparkled, a little gasp slipping her lips.

"I am the dumb one. My bad." She covered her face shyly but I took her hands off and leaned in my lips meeting with hers in a deep kiss. I had been craving her so badly.
