I Was Afraid

Karica's POV

I had no strength, my body was jelly barely holding together. A strong pair of arms carried me inside and his comforting scent permeated every pore of my body, lulling me into assurance that we were safe. I was safe.

I woke up in an unknown place. I blinked several times to let my eyes adjust to the bright light that filled the room. My head was throbbing as if it had been stuffed with lead and my body excruciatingly ached. I tried to sit up.

"Hey! Keep lying down," his concerned voice sounded from somewhere nearby and I turned my head to find him sitting close by with his hands clasped and brows knitted together in distress.

"I want to sit," I pleaded and he quickly got up and bending down began to turn the lever so the upper part of the bed would rise. It was then I realised I was in the hospital.

His muscles flexed as he worked on the lever and I couldn't help but stare as some loose strands of his silver hair fell in his eyes. Once he was satisfied with the height
