Chapter Six

Sophia's pov:

Waking up, I noticed that I was in an unfamiliar room. That's when everything that happened yesterday came running through my head. 

The room was dark, you could barely see anything inside the room, I scanned my environment and everything in the room is black both the curtain and the wall. The only colourful thing in the room was the picture of a woman in her thirties that was hung neatly on the wall 

 I wondered why someone in his right mind would live in a black room or have it as his best colour. Still looking around the room, I heard a soft snore beside me. I turned and saw a man sleeping, immediately I was charmed by his beauty; his lashes were longer than most girls' own 

While still looking at him, I didn't know when he opened his eyes "hmm" he cleared his throat, "are you done staring?" he said, with a smile plastered on his face. My face heat up immediately and I looked away 

He used his index finger to lift my face, and immediately his finger touched my face. I felt that electricity spark. I felt the other day, I'm now certain that he is the same man that saved me from those men….. 

" how're you doing today?" he asked. I didn't answer but I was crying "what?" 

"I want to go home" 

"please I don't want to stay here" 

When I said those words his face changed immediately from having a smile on them to something else. I think anger "Listen I bought you as my pet and I believe you know what pets are, " he said 

"But, I don't want to keep you as one so I am offering you a deal either you stay here as my woman, or you stay here as my pet every day and night you will come and warm my mattress,"

He stood up from the bed and when he reached the door he stopped "you've till tomorrow to think about it". I was horrified!!!

I sat quietly in anger for what seemed like a long time till two women came inside the room. One of the women was carrying something like cleaning equipment while the other one had nothing with her.

They were discussing, and the moment they saw me they stopped what they were saying. The woman that had nothing with her was looking at me with disdain. "who're you and what are you doing in the king's chamber?" she asked 

"I… I'm the king's new servant"

"what're you doing sitting on his bed?" this time around she was yelling and saying all sorts of things to me, "Lisa!!!  "That's enough! "Why are you talking to the young girl like this, do you know her?"

"Oh… c'mon Eda, she is just a mere servant or probably one of the king's one-night stands" 

"What are you then?" 

"Are you not also a servant?"

"Please let's clean this place before the king comes back," Eda said…..

Afterwards, the two women left. I stood up from where I was sitting on the bed to go and look for the king, I headed towards the exit and immediately came out of the room and saw two guards standing at the door. I approached one of the guards "Please where can I find the king?" I asked him 

"Why are you looking for the king?"

"There is something important I would like to discuss with him, please take me to him." 

After thinking for a  few seconds, "Come," he motioned his head for me to follow him. We walked past one big door and he said "The king doesn't like people coming to see him while he is in the training field. but, I am letting you see him because you said you've something important to tell him,"

"Yes, I do have something important to say to him,"

"Okay," the guard then opened the door leading to the training field.

The field is so big. The moment we entered the place, everyone left what he or she was doing and was staring at us. The King and his armies were training at the centre of the arena, with the sound of their swords crashing together one would think that there is a war going on…

Immediately, the king saw me standing in a corner of the field. He stopped what he was doing and walked towards me, "You're not meant to be here!!!"

"What are you doing here and who brought you inside this place?" he asked with a frown on his face 

"No… Nobody brought me here, I asked people around and they told me where to find you" I said, biting my fingers 

"Are you trying to lie to me?" 

"And don't make me ask you again!!" 

The look on his face is not something I would like to witness in my life again, so I was fearful for my life and that of the young man that brought me here. 

But, I was determined not to tell him the person, even if he wants to punish anybody he should punish only me.

He didn't look so convincing, but I stood my ground "Okay, what are you here for?" he asked 

I came to give you my answer. There will be no need to wait till tomorrow, "So what's your decision?" staring directly into my eye, I couldn't look at him back because I was feeling embarrassed so I was looking at the floor till he touched my face.

"I want to see your face!" he said, smiling as if he already knows what I am going to tell him.

"I'll be your woman….

"Are sure that's what you want?"

"Yes," I will need his help to look for my mother.  while I make plans on how to escape from here. Ever since my sister revealed the truth about me, I have longed to meet my real mother 

It now makes sense why my parents "Ouch" foster parents treated me the way they did. 

"I will find you mother no matter what it takes!!"
