Chapter 22 Humiliated

I paused before snorting. 

Me... Eying that Jafar? Ha, It was funny. 

Although the guy is handsome and by the way Victoria was emphasizing that he was her boyfriend, he was most definitely rich... But he was not my type. 

Plus Alexander was way hotter than him and we just freaking kissed. 

I shook my head and was about to continue walking when I heard Victoria speak. 

" I noticed too, but let be. I don't believe my Jafar would chest on me with a maid". My eyes widened in anger. 

What!

" But Tori, can't you see the way she's dressed. Like she wants to seduce all the men in YOUR party". That Kenzie said again laying a lot of emphasis on the 'your'. 

I held my breath waiting for Victoria's response. 

SHE was the one who bought the dress for me. SHE was the one who told me to wear it. For god sake she even hired make-up artists and everything to make me look like this. 

Was she going to turn the tables on me?

I turned around slowly in order to see my face. They were not able to see me because they were so engrossed in their conversation about me. 

" I'm glad there are no married men here, if not she would probably be beaten up by jealous wives". Victoria said and laughed in scorn, making Jafar and Eric laugh with her, Kenzie joined afterwards. 

" We would have been separating fights by now". Eric added in midst of laughter fueling the laughter even more.

I just stood there and watched. 

So this was what she wanted to do. 

Get me all dressed in a fancy dress and then soil my name... No way I'm letting her go with this. 

I glared at Victoria before walking back towards her, but my feet froze when I heard the next thing that cans out of Kendra's mouth. 

" Seriously though, she's a slut, how can your brother hire someone like that. I'm very sure she's here to seduce him, that's if they don't have anything together already ".

A slut?

A freaking slut? That's what they reduced me too?

Seduce him, Alexander... I 

Then I remembered what transpired between us few minutes before I walked into this God forsaken party. 

But I didn't seduce him, I didn't even kiss him. He kissed me!

We don't have anything together...

" Oh, Mia... Your back". Jafar's voice made me realized that they knew I was standing right beside them. 

I glared at Victoria and her stupid friend, Kendra. 

"What's your problem?" I began my voice heavy. Oh, I was angry alright. 

I always knew Victoria wanted to do something bad to me, for fuck sake why would a witch be nice if not that she wants to do something more terrible? 

Victoria blinked. 

" What do you mean Mia?" She said in an innocent voice. 

" What do I mean... What do I mean? What did I ever do to you to make you soil my name? By the way, you bought this clothes for me and did this". I said in rage pointing at myself.

But then I saw Victoria's lips hook up in a smirk. 

Shit, what did I just do.

Victoria blinked, her face turning to the innocent one again. 

" So you agreed I picked you up and cleaned you, yet you're angry about it? " I said as if she said as if she had been wronged. 

I had no words. I just digged my own grave. Because of how mad I was, I didn't think properly before blabbing out. 

Victoria wanted me to dig my own grave... And for fuck sake I was doing it. 

" I can't believe you. You want to bite the hand that feed you? Why? What exactly do you have? Just because my brother bought you from an auction... " Victoria immediately clasped her hand on her mouth like she has said something she wasn't supposed to. 

What did she... Holy fuck. 

How did she know?

My chest began moving up and down rapidly. I looked around, everyone in the party was no looking at us, at me to be precise.

"She was bought..."

"...No way". 

"... She has the guts to talk to Victoria like that?" 

I could hear their murmurs which didn't even sound like a murmur, I could hear it clearly.

I wanted to explain, but I was way too shocked, so nothing cane out of my lips. 

" You..." Ever single pairs of eyes were on me criticizing me. 

"Oh... No, I didn't mean to say my brother bought you a million dollars at an auction... Oops". She clasped her hand on her mouth again. 

Gasps followed immediately Victoria said that. Their gaze on me became even more criticizing if that was possible.

She did it again. The crowd murmurs continued. I felt like I could hear each and every one of those bad things they were saying about me

" She's so ungrateful... A million dollars?"

"Mr Hamilton is too nice, way too nice"

" That is a waste of money... Shit. And she even wants to seduce her savior". 

" Look and what she's wearing. After they bought her she still even have the nerves ". 

I've never been one to care about what people said about me... But this was too much. 

Over 50 pairs of eyes were only on me everyone feeling like they want to rip me apart. This was beyond humiliating. 

" I didn't mean to say that, it's just you pushed me Mia. "

My breathing became heavy, I felt like my head was spinning, I was seeing double or even triple. 

I need to get out of here. 

I staggered towards the door out, but then I changed mind and went upstairs. 

"And she's gone".

" I want to check something, be right back guys" I heard Victoria say before I was completely out of her sight. 

She planned this. I closed my eyes and said a prayer. If this girl followed me, there was no assurance that I wouldn't beat the life out of her. 

Everything... Why the hell did I even believe her? Why did I go to the damn mall with her? 

This was my fault. If I've just said no to her since in the morning... No since few days ago none of this would have happened. 

But who the hell told her?

Alexander? Or Amelia?

But why would Amelia say anything?

I arrived at my room but j couldn't seat down. It was like I could still feel their menacing gaze on me. 

The best thing to do now was to have a talk with Alexander. Why the hell would he tell his sister, who hates me so much that he bought me. 

I rushed out of my room with only one destination in mind, Alexander's study. 

After the huge humiliation Victoria just put me through, it would be only him that would stop me from escaping from this house. 

I was about to open the door to the study when I heard Victoria's voice coming from the inside.  

" Seriously, tell me the truth. What's going on between the both of you". She said and I pressed my ears closer to the wall so I would hear his answer. 

" Ria..."

" Tell me Alex. I saw both if you standing at the bottom of the stairs together and you were pretty close to each other". Victoria insisted.

I held my breath... There was no way he would be able to escape this. Victoria won't drop the topic until she hears a reasonable answer. 

" Look here Ria... There's nothing going on between Mia and I, and there would never be".
