Chapter 27 Where is Mia ?

Alexander's POV

"What do you mean it's your money? Remember, I'm the one who put you in the position you're in now!"

My father yelled, his face red with rage. We had been arguing for almost two hours, and I could see the vein in his forehead bulging. Victoria must have told him everything about Mia, and he looked like he was about to have a heart attack.

"You'll bring that girl to me, and I'll take care of her," he demanded, his eyes blazing with fury.

I narrowed my eyes at him, clenching my fists. "I won't," I said defiantly. "Mia is my responsibility. I bought her with my money, and I'll take care of her."

My father's face turned purple with rage. "How dare you speak to me like that! I'm still your father! I put you in your position!" He gripped his walking stick tightly, his knuckles white with anger.

I smirked, trying to control my own anger. "Yes, you did, but I earned it. And I'm not letting you get your hands on Mia. She belongs to me."

My father's eyes flashed with anger. "Alexander, if you defy my rules..."

But I cut him off, standing up to face him. "Father, I bought Mia. She's my responsibility. I don't care what you think or what Victoria told you. All I know is that Mia belongs to me, and I'm not letting her go."

With that, I turned and walked out of his office, leaving him spluttering behind me. I could hear him calling my name, but I refused to look back. I wasn't heartless, not every time, not to everyone, only people who don't deserve my heart, people like my old man.

Now, it was time to focus on Mia. I had to make sure she was safe from my father's wrath. I drove my car back to the mansion and got out immediately, before the car even came to a halt.

"Mia! Mia!!" I yelled, rushing into the house and up to Mia's room. "Mia...!" I knocked on her door, but got no answer from the other side. I barged the door open using my shoulder and burst into the room.

She's not here. I looked around the room, but there was no sign of her.

Could she possibly... Fear gripped me, and I opened the door to her closet. All her clothes were still there.

She couldn't possibly leave with her things, right? Why the hell is she...

"Mia..." I called, walking into Lilly's room. There was no sign of her there, not like there should be. My heart beat increased as I ran down the stairs, yelling Mia's name. I searched everywhere, finally resting in the garden.

"Boss..."

Alice, the maid who was always around Mia, called me when I came to the garden.

Thinking of it, Mia was always with this girl; she could have an idea where she might be. "I want to tell you..."

"Where's Mia?" I asked immediately, interrupting her.

"That's what I've been trying to tell you... " She dropped the tools in her hand and stared at me, her hands on her hips like an overprotective mother. "I've been looking for Mia since this morning, and I can't find her anywhere in the house. I wanted to ask if you did something to her yesterday that might upset her."

I stared at Alice in surprise. Did she just speak to me in that manner?

This was the first time a maid had raised her voice at me. Mia didn't count; she was always special.

"What's your name?" I asked, narrowing my eyes at her.

It was then her consciousness came back to her, and she cowered her head while fidgeting. "I'm sorry, sir... I didn't mean to raise my voice. I was just worried about Mia."

I snorted. Of course, that would be the excuse she would give.

"I asked what's your name."

"A... Alice, sir," she replied.

Alice... I nodded my head, that is a name I would remember.

"Mr. Hamilton, please, you have to understand. Ever since Mia came into this house, I've been beside her. I've also grown to love her company, and she became my best friend." She began calmly. Taking a deep breath, she continued.

"Yesterday, I saw the sparks between you two, and I thought that something must have happened between the both of you. But today, Mia's missing, and I have no idea where she might be."

Missing? I ran my hand through my hair in realization. I had not thought of it in that manner. My eyes widened in anger. If Mia was truly missing, there was only one person who I knew had any motive to take her captive.

" Where's Victoria?" I thundered, my chest heaving with anger. Alice's eyes widened in surprise and shock at my tone.

"Ms. Victoria... she, I haven't seen her all day. But some of the other staff said they saw her leave the house very early in the morning," Alice replied, her voice trembling.

Victoria... I swear if you're behind this...

"I'll deal with you later." I took a last look at Alice and rushed out of the garden, my mind racing with thoughts of Mia's disappearance.

I jumped into my car and demanded the keys from my driver. I could see the hesitation in his eyes, but I wasn't in the mood to be driven. I took the keys and drove the car out of the estate, breaking several traffic rules along the way. I didn't care; I just wanted to get to the bottom of Mia's disappearance.

I arrived at the office in record time and stormed out of the elevator, my anger and frustration boiling over. I burst into my father's office, slamming the door behind me.

He was sitting on the couch, sipping tea, looking calm and collected.

"Where's Mia?" I demanded, my voice menacing.

He looked up at me, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "You left here almost an hour ago, and now you come back, your clothes disheveled, and you're shouting at me?"

I glared at him, my fury intensifying.

"What are you playing at, old man? Where's Mia? You threatened me with her just minutes ago, and now she's missing... Where is she?"

He took a sip of his tea, his eyes never leaving mine. "Are you talking about the girl you bought with a million dollars and claim to have no care for her?"

" Father... "

" I've never seen you so... So angry and disarranged. Guess that lowlife holds more place in your heart than you want to admit". He said with a smirk calmly taking a sip from his tea enjoying seeing me like this.

" She must be really special".

I combed my hair with my hands in frustration, around the room trying to contain my anger.

This man was playing games with me!
