I covered my face for the umpteenth time and let out a shaky breath. The intimate moment I shared with Lord Blade played in my mind like a loop. In the whole chaos of my emotions, I worked upon my instincts and placed a small kiss on his lips. And then the kiss we shared was...simply enchanting! But it was what my uncle did which caused me to freeze under Lord Blade's touch. I could only wonder how disappointed he must've been... My little reverie was cut short when a knock sounded on my bedroom door. Getting out of bed, I fixed my dress before walking toward the door and opening it. Grace stood there with her head lowered a little. "It's time for midday meal, Miss. Harper" she said. I nodded and followed her down to the dining room. Lord Blade and Caspian were already present but I also saw two unfamiliar people. As soon as the warlock took notice of me, he gestured for me to sit beside him and so I did. I walked up to him and sat beside him and carefully glanced at the strangers.
I had heard about the spirits from hell but I always took it as a grain of salt. I stayed in Lord Blade's arms until my heartbeats became normal and my sobs died down. "What exactly happened?!" the warlock questioned as he took a step back to look at me."I...woke up from a nap and then saw this figure in the balcony! It even created a block, preventing me from linking you and possibling anyone else" I answered after a moment of collecting myself.Lord Blade sighed and looked around the room. "Why would they be here?" he muttered to himself and shook his head."But they aren't supposed to be real!" I argued."They do exist, Flora!" the warlock shot back. "Just because you witches and wizards don't believe in anything superior does not mean that it isn't existing!" he added."I thought these were just some made up stories..." I trailed off, questioning my beliefs."Your beliefs are different than that of other creatures. Whilst mages don't worship anyone, the werewolves worship the moo
I was in my chamber reading the book I had picked out earlier from my study. The whole manor had become eerily silent but I paid it no mind. The forest surrounding the manor was pretty big which connected to some of the small werewolves pack.Halfway through reading the book, I felt someone trying to reach me through the mind-link. I kept the book aside and started to focus on who it was that was contacting me. Their tries stopped and I was left with no clue as to who it was.The wait wasn't long as I felt it again but this time I could feel a block in the link. I focused on trying to let the person in and soon enough, Flora's voice came through. "I need help!" she screamed in distress and the link cut off. Coming back to my senses, I got up from my desk and ran out of my room; rushing to get to Flora. The door to Flora's bedroom slammed against the wall behind as I barged inside. What I saw in the room temporarily scared me and alerted my senses. But the figure disappeared before I co
Prince Luke patiently waited for me to answer his question. "How do you know?" my voice came out small as I asked the question. "Unlike your master—Lord Blade, who can feel the presence of a life, I can feel the presence of demons and spirits. And I had seen it following you earlier today!" he explained. "If you already know about it then why ask me?!" I couldn't control the irritation in my tone as I harshly questioned the demon prince. He sighed and took a step toward me, making me take a step back in return. "I might tell it's presence but I can't predict it's next action. Did it do anything to you? Did it tell you what it wanted? It's purpose to show itself to you?" he shot a string of questions my way. "No, it did not told me it's exact intentions but I knew it was going to take my life away!" I answered as my voice trembled a little. Prince Luke nodded and stared off into the distance for a moment before looking back at me. "Was this your first encounter with it?" he asked
After hearing Caspian's words, I downed the remaining of my alcohol and requested to head back to the manor at once.Upon reaching the manor, I dashed inside and began running up the stairs and into the library. I knew I would find my answers in there. After entering the library, I closed the door behind me and locked it to ensure no unwanted invasion.I walked to the farthest corner of the library where there was a small collection of books with their covers engraved in gold designs. My eyes wandered over the books before halting onto the one with black leather cover. It didn’t stand out much compared to other books but one glance at the pages inside and it is enough to catch anyone's attention.Flipping through the pages, I finally found what I was looking for. The spirits of hell and their creators. I noted down the page in my mind before closing the book and taking it back to my study. Placing the book locked inside one of the drawers of my desk, I went straight for Flora's room.
As soon as Lord Blade left my room, I decided to get some sleep. There would be no point in overthinking about the things he just said and ruin my slumber.I slipped into the darkness as sleep started to take over me. But a bright white light caught me off guard. I couldn't see anything at first but then the brightness subsided; revealing a beautiful forest with a lake.Walking through the trees and small bushes, I was finally standing right in front of the clear lake. As I was admiring the wild life inside the crystal clear water, a rustling sound on my right made me aware of my surroundings. My head snapped to the right where there were thick bushes and the trees were denser. Another rustling sound came through along with a slight movement in the bushes.I nearly lost control over myself as my heart started to beat in my throat. Taking a few steps backward, I fixated my eyes on whatever was lurking behind the thick group of leaves. My feet halted in my tracks as soon as I saw a han
Flora's response made me freeze. "What's the matter?" she asked after a few moments of complete silence. I shook my head, trying to dust off the topic."Are you okay though?" I asked, concerned about her."Yes..." she gave a small reply.I exhaled briefly and looked at her again. "Well then, have a good night. I'll get out of your hair" I said and waited a moment before turning around to leave. I don't know why, but I was still expecting her to maybe stop me from exiting her room.Just as I was about to unlock the door, I saw Flora approaching me through my peripheral vision. I quickly turned to look at her."I'm sorry for constantly bothering you. And I'm not upset with you anymore. My apologies for behaving out of line but I do believe you now..." The lass let out everything she was holding back.A small smile dared to make its way on my lips but I managed to keep a straight face. "Well, it's fine now. I'm glad to know that you're not upset with me anymore" I said. The mage nodded a
I was too terrified to go back to sleep alone in my room so I had to bring myself to ask Lord Blade if I could at least stay in his room for a little while. I wasn't expecting him to agree to do so easily. As I lied down on the soft mattress, I struggled to fall asleep again. Turning to face Lord Blade, his eyes met mine and held me captive. "Can't sleep?" he asked, his voice deep yet whispery."No..." was all I could mutter. I bit my lower lip, not wanting to work upon a newfound thought in my mind. The handsome warlock being in the same bed as me wasn't helping either.I almost gasped as soon as the warlock reached out to my face and brushed his thumb across my lips. Slowly and carefully, I moved a little closer to the warlock and saw his expression changing into something I couldn't read and make out.His hand slowly rested on my cheek, his thumb leaving my lips and starting to make circles on my face. I leaned into his touch as my eyes closed and a small smile rested on my lips.
