Chapter Fifty Two

"How is she?" I asked the doctor immediately he finished treating Avery.

He let out a sigh, his shoulders slumping. "She is okay for now, but..."

"But what?" I cut in, my patience growing thin. He sighed once again making my brows furrow in confusion and curiousness about what would make him sigh continuously.

"I something wrong?"

"I'm sorry, but she lost the pup."

A loud bang in my head had me taking a step back and almost falling as his words seeped into my head.

"It's a joke, right?" I queried,

He bowed, shaking his head. "I'm sorry."

A scoff let itself out of my lips. I shook my head, refusing to believe his words. "It's not possible."
