Chapter 10
“Ahhhh!”
A scream made me stop walking along the crowd. I glanced at the owner of the high pitched voice and saw my cousin, Andromeda rushing towards us wearing her pink bikini and strap sandals.
“Be careful, Andromeda!” Aunt Meryl shouted. She’s really protective towards her only daughter.
I rolled my eyes when she tackled Marco to the ground. My friend squealed and they both laugh at the sands. I rolled my eyes and just walk away from their place.
“Annoying humans!” I muttered, “Who are they to act like they missed each other like they’re cousins?”
I wore my sunglasses and walk along a group of teenagers who’re probably around their early twenties. They are having fun and I am not. I look like an outcast in this group. Good thing I am wearing my black swimsuit, beach hat and a gorgeous pair of slippers.
They walk towards the main building of the resort and I followed them. I scroll through my phone while trying to maintain my distance about half a meter away from them. I don’t want to eavesdrop on their conversation but I don’t want to get away from them. I still need to hide from Cairo and the rest of the clan.
It’s our first day today at the resort and my family was super excited to have fun that they forgot they have a celebrity to disguise. What a shame!
Good thing that before Marco was kidnap by my so ever cool cousin, he manage to dress me up like a commoner. I can really rely that bitch when it comes to my look!
I scoff at my thought and stopped walking. I cant hear any high pitch giggles now.I can only hear my footsteps echoing in the whole building. Looks like I lost myself while following those teens.
I breathe and resume my walk.
“Where can I relax these shoulders?” I asked myself. All I can think of is a salon or a spa, but it is full at the moment. Maybe I can go to a pub? But is there a pub here?
I scanned the whole area to where I’m at and saw the doors with numbers. “I must’ve arrive at the hotel part.”
I continued to walk until my feet found its way to a bar. It is located at the back of the main building where there are stones boulders. Huge waves are crashing in the pillars of the bar while it sits like a god between the ocean and the stones.
Awe. Such a cute architecture design!
I smiled and bobbed my head sideways back and forth as I skip towards the entrance.
I stopped in front of the bald man who’s wearing his uniform with a prinnted seal of the resort. I gave him a sly smile and asked, “Is this open for the public?”
“Yes miss,” he answered and stepped aside to let me in the bar.
Flashing lights welcome me as I made my way inside. The booming beat of a famous pop song made the crowd in front of me to go wild. The interior is all black, only the light bulbs from the bar and the neon lights from the painted walls and people serves as the guide to the whole bar.
“How are you people?” A scream from the DJ made the whole crowd crazier than they are.
“This is it, Emilia,” I whispered to myself then move towards the counter. I ordered my favorite bottle of liquor and drink it straight.
“Wohoooo!” I screamed. I let my hair wave to the vibration of the music. I can feel the liquor in my bloodstream. I removed my slippers and tossed it. Then I walk towards the sea of people and joined their dance.
Ah, confidence.
“Nice ass there!” Someone whistled as I grind my hips.
I glance at him and gave him a wink. I can’t see his face but I think this is enough to make me feel good. To make him feel good too!
With my feet firmly placed on the ground and a bottle of half-empty vodka in my hand, I danced to the beat. I jump with the crazy crowd and screamed when it was time to scream. I am not happy, but this just feel so good!
I never had attended this crazy wild party for years. Now, I have to spend all my time here tonight. Fuck Marco if he can’t find me. And I know that my mother will not scold me for this since she’s busy with organizing the reunion. They can handle their things on there own now. They are grown ups and I am an adult.
“I am an adult now!” I screamed on top of my lungs. The people beside me on the dance floor cheered and I screamed more, “Aaaaahhhhhh!!!”
I shake my hips and head. This is super great! I feel like I don’t want to sleep even a wink tonight. I just want to party.
“Tonight let’s get wasted!” I shouted and laughed flirtatiously. I dance and jump. I can feel my breast bouncing and demanding to be freed. I loosen my the straps of my bikini and flipped my raven dyed hair.
“Fuck my ex, I don’t need him!” I shouted. The crowed agreed and wave with me as the DJ plays his remix songs.
Somehow, these nights reminded me of him. Flashes of painful memories entered my brain. I can even remember how I begged him to stay but he didn’t which made me have this habit of drinking liquor.
“Fuck him!” I added the drink the remaining half of vodka from the bottle. I smashed the bottle on the wall the has a neon sign, “Hit Me With Your Best Shot”. The whole crowd gone wild when it illuminates more and a four letter word flashes in the whole bar.
“Free Drinks For Everyone!” I read and danced to the music. “Woohooo!”
I didn’t know how long has it been since I’ve stepped on this bar. But I know that I am wasted and just finish my seventh bottle. I gave each and every man who agrees with me for a body shot. Some did it to my body too and I don’t mind it!
This is a party. Only a poop will disagree to everyone’s request.
“Can I lick that breast, baby?” A hoarse voice whispered in my ear, biting my lobe flirtatiously. I felt his hand on my side-boob massaging it. I let out a moan and respond, “Only if you suck best.”
I heard him chuckled. I grabbed his palm and lead it to my neck. I shifted my body and faced his dark eyes. I bit my my lip on the process, gave him a pick on the cheeks and said, “Darling, you can never know a woman not unless you dive in deep in her desire.”
With that he lowered his head and claimed my lips. Oh God! He taste sweet and minty. I closed my eyes savoring the moment. He grabbed my hair and fisted it, drawing me closer as our lips sync. I am so lost to his breathe that I didn’t mind having no time to inhale. All I can think of is wanting this man!
“Argh!” I groaned when I felt his lips move away, “What’s wrong?”
I heard the crowd gasps, making me open my eyes to look at the handsome man whom I I just shared a kiss with. I saw him lying on the floor with blood on his nose. He’s mad but he didn’t move a bit.
“Hey!” I called his attention, but his eyes were focused to something, or I should say someone. I followed it and I felt my soul left my body for a second.
I felt myself sobber up in the sight of the man whose fist is drenched with another man’s blood. He is wearing his dark black suit. Just like the bar, his aura is dark and omits great form of violence and abuse.
“You will not touch her, again.” His voice boomed like thunder. I flinched and slowly move my feet backwards, preparing to run before he can even look at me.
I couple of steps was taken when his bloody eyes look at me. I catch his stare and just like that the whole world stopped. I am lost again. I don’t know what to do.
“You will come with me.” He commanded but my body refuses to take any action. All I can see is his dark brooding eyes in this dark bar. I can’t even hear the music playing in the background. My ears refuses to do so.
Move!
I screamed inside.
Fuck it, Emilia. Run!
Another one screamed.
I can feel my heart pounding so hard. My blood rushing through my veins. My brain commands every cell in my body to move, but the whole system refuses.
“You will come with me,” he growled and grab my hand.
This is a nightmare, right? I’m just seeing things. That’s all.
He drag me towards the exit and carried me to the nearest staircase that leads to the unknown.
“Move, Emilia.” He tightened his grip on my wrist. I can feel the pain but I can’t scream. Why is he here? How did he find me?
My body move with his command. It recognizes the other owner, the one who can wreck the whole system. The whole me!
I felt my feet stopped on a huge door. He opened it and drag me inside, closing the door behind me. I closed my eyes as it echoed in the whole room.
“You will not do that, again,” he growled and grabbed my cheeks just so I can look at his dark eyes.
I felt my tears running down from my face but I can’t seem to wipe it. He tightened his grip more as he lowered his face. He brushed his his lips onto mine slowly. I felt his hot breathe fanning my skin, causing waves of overwhelming emotions to enter me.
I want to scream or even whimper but my voice says his name.
“Cairo.”
Chapter 11 Emilia’s “Fuck!” He shouted and let go of my chin. I am still standing in front of him, tears are streaming down on my face as I look at his figure in the shadows. I can not believe that this man just grab me by his palms and drag me to this house. God knows I don’t even have time to check out this place! And I don’t know if this is all fake or somewhat an illusion. Maybe this is a dream! I am so lost right now. I can feel my salty tears dripping towards my bear feet as I continue to stare at him. His black suit have crooked and he continued to run his fingers through his hair. The moon arise from the surface and shines through the windows making him appear in a sinister way. “This is a nightmare right?” I asked. I can feel the another storm making it’s way to my system when his dark eyes look at me with despise.
Chapter 12Cairo’sI smirk when I received an email from Sullivan.Mr. Cairo Buenavista,I have informed your grandmother about the schedule of the announcement of the will and testament.Your lawyer,Atty. Jonathan SullivanI closed my laptop after reading his email. I smirked while thinking about the announcement two days from now. I can’t wait to see each and everyone’s reaction when they hear that the great Arturo gave his riches to his most favored grandson.I fixed my tie and lean towards my office chair- relaxing my tensed muscles. It has been a week since I saw my grandfather’s funeral and I have no plans on going back on our mansion until I have found a woman who is worthy to become my bride.I paced through my office with my eyes stick
Chapter 13Emilia’sIt’s two am in the morning and I have seen some of my cousins almost passing out. I have no choice but to be to join them. I can feel myself sober up after walking out of Cairo’s place.“I can’t believe him!” I exclaimed. My cousins look at me with confusion. The music stopped and saw their intense stares at me. Asking an answer why I just reacted like that.“What are you talking about, Emilia?” they asked.I just shook my head and drink the can of beer that was handed to me by my cousin, Andromeda. I saw her flirting with some random dude she just met. Marco who was talking with my one of my cousins move towards my direction.“What was that?” he asked while wiggling my brows. I ignored his goofy face and just sip from my can of beer.He giggled and smelled my
Chapter 14Emilia’sI woke up feeling happy for an unknown reason. I don’t know how and what happened, but I just found myself smiling on as I opened my eyes.Perhaps I had a good dream. How many shots did I take last night?Maybe I picked up a case of beer on the way here. Those were my thoughts when I glimpse at the carpeted floor where my clothes were scattered along with some beer cans.“What time is it?” I asked myself. I yawned and move my head opposite to the side where the windows wont hint my face directly.I placed my head into the soft warm pillow and smell the strawberry scent.“Heaven,” I murmured while sniffing my pillow. I should by more strawberry scented pillows or maybe strawberry scents for my diffuser.I snuggled more int
Chapter 15 “I missed you,” he breathe on my ear. After being stoned for about a second. I pushed his body away from me, making him stumble backwards hitting the wall. “What the fuck?” I asked in disbelief. What is he doing here anyway? And how did he knew that I was going to change my look? “Don’t you miss me back my sweet?” he teased and went beside me again. Why is he acting like this? I am so confused by Cairo’s action right now. He is even wearing a polo that totally matched my dress. What is his problem? Why does he smell so good? And how come he’s still here? “My problem is you wont admit that you desire me,” he answered out of the blue. I turned my gaze towards him. He just smirk and gave me a wink. Did I just say my thoughts out loud? “You are now.”
Chapter 16“Oh my God!”“What happened to her?”I can hear my mom screaming through the hallway. I groaned and keep still on Cairo’s arms. I don’t want to be close to him again but I have no choice but to use his body ‘cause I am temporarily blind.“Auntie Lia was sand attacked by my Farren.” I heard Caleb said. He probably followed us to whatever this place is.“It was an accident Granny,” Farren explained.I just sighed and heard Eunice scolding the kids on the background. I can hear Farren crying and Caleb yelp. My mom on the other hand talk to Cairo about what really happened.“It was just a sand castle fight, Mrs. De Lapaz,” he said. I felt his palm rub my thighs slowly as if comforting me. Well, I am not comfortable by his touch. This is just too much.
Chapter 17My thoughts kept bugging me after that conversation with Andreana. I paced back in forth in my room while asking the same question she has before we parted ways.“Do you know where she is?” Andreana asked. I sighed and then look at the ground.I felt her palms on my shoulders. I look at her concern eyes as she kept a straight face. She let out a deep breath and then look at me. Her blue lenses glared at the wall as if she just saw an enemy. I spin and followed her gaze then saw a man wearing a gray tuxedo rushing towards out direction.“Who the fuck is he?” I asked her. I heard her cuss under her breath. Being about seven inch shorter than her is pain in the ass. I sometimes wish she can just chop her legs just so I can see every expression she has.“I gotta go,” s
Chapter 18 It’s been two days since we had a that fight. He left my hotel room and never came back ever since. It was quite a good move though, since I don’t want to see his face. I never wanted to be with him anyway, ever again. “Can’t you be less annoying?” I heard Andreana said over the phone. My eyes went to her direction and saw her calling someone over the phone. “Who’s that?” I asked. She lift her palm and mouthed, “Just a minute.” I nod and stare at the view in front of me. I took a deep breath and feel the cold fresh air. Who knows that I will be climbing this hill again? “And I’m back,” Andy declared and stood beside me. “How relaxing.” I nod my head in agreement. The sun is not showing it’s prideful rays today and only the gray clouds covered the whole area in such protective manner. “
Chapter 24Emilia’s It’s been days since the hot man who visited the Buenavista’s mansion wandered my mind. I don’t know him but he seems very familiar. I don’t know if I have seen him before, but I really hope not. It’s also been days since Cairo is been feeling unwell and uneasy. I don’t know if it’s the search for Lucille that bothered him or something else. We still continued to pretend that everything is okay in front of our families and I don’t know if I can keep up with all the dramas that has been happening. “Do you think she’s still alive Emilia?” my best friend, Andreana asked as she sipped her hot tea. After that hectic engagement party, I have along with the Buenavista’s last night, I decided to cure my hang over by talking to her and her sister.&nbs
Cairo’s “Don’t tell me you want to make me do that job again.” I scoffed at Gregory. The idiot did his best to hide his smirk while looking at the ground intently, burning his gaze to the old grasses. “He wants you to do it for him,” he replied. I spit to the ground, aiming it near his well-polished shoes. He let out a sigh and handed fished a hanky on his suit. “He can help you track his daughter.” “Do I look like I need his help?” “He believes that you need it.” I smirk played on my lips as I watch Emilia Lucille walking further away from me and from the dangers I have. I don’t remember anythin
Chapter 22 “Tell me to shut up and I’ll scream your name,” I sang as I went outside the mansion. It has been days since I started calling this my home, and Cairo’s room as mine too. We’ve been playing this game for almost a week now and I don’t know if it his gestures are genuine or is it part of an act. Well, I don’t know if I can keep up with his game either. “What’s so good this morning, Señorita Sumeria?” The devil asked while smirking at me. He is wearing his casual wear today and I am glad that he matched his shirt with my white tank top. “Well, now you just ruined my mood,” I whined. He let out a chuckle and wiggle his brows.&nbs
Chapter 21After that hasty engagement scene, I couldn’t utter a word to Cairo nor say anything to explain myself to my family. Even on my social media, I saw stolen photos of me during that ‘awe-so-cute’ moment though my facial expression is fit for funerals.“You should have told me soon about this Hijo!” Missis Matilde Buenvista, his grandmother said. She just woke up from passing out after hearing the news from Cairo the great.I didn’t agree to this plan not even once. But then, I came to realize that this is our game and I can’t do anything about it. I have participated in this the moment I fought back to him. And it literally sucks to know that I can’t do anything but let him lead the way.I am more in reacting than doing things to win this game. And I am starting to hate it.“Grandma, I was hoping to tell
Chapter 20Dinner is great. I would be a liar if I say I didn’t enjoy the food and my company. But that doesn’t mean that my annoyance for Cairo lessen a bit.It still there, it just happens that he’s behaving properly over dinner. He should be! After all my he’s just a visitor in our mansion.“Hija.”All eyes went to my mother when she called me. I didn’t realize she’s on the mini stage holding a microphone in hand. I look at her with my brows furrowed. I don’t get it but I get this chill that something is not right today.“Yeah?” I asked absentmindedly. I even heard Cairo chuckled beside me.My mom smiled at me and nods. Then she look over the crowd and opened her mouth for her big announcement.“Today is a very special day.”I nod, agreei
Chapter 19“Yeah, a total good luck to me.”What the fuck is he doing here? I spin and then prepared my fist to punch his handsome devil face but he is quick to dodge.“Woah,” he said in amusement. There was a glint of happiness in his dangerous eyes. I hissed and rolled my eyes. He’s enjoying this moment too much. “What are you doing here, Cairo?” I asked in annoyance. I pushed his body away from me. I stormed towards my room and I heard his footsteps following me.“I am here to ask a permission to you,” he said.“I thought you said that you don’t need my consent on things?”“Well, I badly need one now.”I scoffed upon hearing his response. I went inside the room and leave the door open. I didn’t both
