Cooked for her

Rena’s POV.

My words tumbled out of me in a torrent of pain and anger. "I did them no wrong. They plotted against me. They fooled me, deceived me, used me, sold me, and killed my mom, the only family I have, and you tell me not to provoke your daughter?" I gripped the sheets tightly, trying hard to supress my disbelief and disappointment.

“You rescued me. I thought you meant to protect me. You're supposed to be my protector, my guardian, but instead you're defending her, the person who tried to kill me. What about me? What about my feelings? Don't I deserve to be protected, to be loved?" I cried, my body shaking with sobs. The more I thought about it, the more unfair it was.

His gaze didn't waver, his expression unreadable. His palm fell gently on my head, soothing my hair again. I tried to move away, but his palm pressed down on head.

“Why did you tell her you slept with me?” He suddenly asked, but he wasn't angry. His voice was calm and surprisingly soothing.

Rena’s POV. I picked up the fork, trying to shake off the feeling, and began to eat the fruit salad first, then the pasta, and lastly, the dessert. The food was delicious, and I couldn't help but let out a little sigh of pleasure after my last bite of the dessert. He watched me, a small smile still playing on his lips, and I felt my cheeks grow hot with embarrassment. Pulling me out of my seat, he said, “Come, you need some fresh air.”I stumbled slightly as he pulled me to my feet, but he quickly steadied me, his hand wrapping around my elbow. I felt a shiver run down my spine at his touch, and I couldn't help but wonder why he was being so gentle with me after the heated confrontation. I thought he'd be angry at me for being rude to him. He didn't look like someone who would take such disrespect. We walked to the balcony, the cool night air enveloping us as we stepped outside. That was when I realized I'd slept from morning till night. The city sparkled below us, a dazzling arra

Kaan’s POV. “I don't want you provoking her. She'll be your stepmother in the coming days. Respect her as you would me, Soni.” I had said to her and she flew into a fit of rage. I knew she would. But she had no choice but to accept the situation. She had done irredeemable damage to the woman I chose. Living with her and respecting her as her stepmother was already the least punishment for her, and I hoped Soni understood that. But apparently, she didn't. Soni defiled my orders after I left the estate. I was furious when I found out. Soni's disobedience was a slap in the face, a direct challenge to my authority, and the family was watching. And to make matters worse, she attempted to kill the woman I couldn't lay a finger on. As my daughter, Soni's allowed to act willfully, but the only line she must never cross, and had never crossed was to break any of the seven commandments binding the Ferrente family. The seven commandments were sacred rules, passed down through generations of

Kaan’s POV. Soni's eyes widened in alarm as she swiftly turned to face me, her shoulders squaring again as she stood up straight. She swallowed hard, "Y-yes, Father. I'm sorry. I was wrong to disobey you." The Ferrente family holds the rules sacred. Although I could choose to forgive her, after all, she's my daughter, but she needs to understand that there are consequences for going against me. "What...what is my punishment, Father?”“Read me the first commandments,” I ordered. “Obey, respect, protect the head at all costs, and have the family's best interest at heart…Failure to adhere to the commandment is punishable by dea–” her voice caught in her throat as she struggled to continue. "Failure to follow the first commandment is punishable by death." My head bobbed softly. However, for a family member like Soni, whose position isn't low, because of their extraordinary skills, their lives could be exchanged for a task, one that would prove their loyalty and devotion to the family

Kaan’s POV. I was supposed to order Marcus to make dinner for Rena, but I found myself doing it instead. It was strange, weird, and completely out of character for me. I was the head of the family, the Don, not the personal chef, still I was in the kitchen. But as I began to prepare the meal, I found myself enjoying the quiet, methodical process of cooking. It was a rare moment of solitude, one that allowed me to clear my head and focus on something other than the family business. And, I had to admit, I was curious to see Rena's reaction to the meal.Marcus wasn't happy about me doing the “servants’ job”. He hovered around the kitchen, voicing his dissatisfaction like a pest. He even sent the servants away before I entered the kitchen, so no one would see me in an apron. “The elders will get mad if they know I allowed you into the kitchen. Please, save my neck, Kaan...” he rambled on until I finished. But Rena was still asleep, breathing calmly. I wondered if she wouldn't wake up,

Kaan’s POV She's still on it? A deep-throated chuckle vibrated through my chest, “Petty,” I tapped her nose. My long years in darkness had honed my senses, allowing me to navigate the darkness with ease. "You're cute when you're angry," I teased further, my voice dripping with amusement.“I thought you said you'd send me away if I couldn't win your daughter over?” she suddenly asked. “I changed my mind.”“Why?”“I don't throw away women that I've slept with.”She gasped, “When did we…”“Didn't you tell Soni we had sex?” I smirked when she said nothing. Suddenly, her hand was on my chest. “Why do I feel you want it?” I added. She stiffened and I bit back a laugh. “Where is Soni's mother? Why didn't I see her?” I didn't answer her question, instead choosing to remain silent, my gaze fixed on some point in the darkness. "Go to sleep.” I caressed her hair and planted a soft kiss on her forehead. It wasn't long before she fell asleep, but just as I was about to join her, the curtai

Rena’s POV. I've never been so scared as I was tonight, in my entire life. My heart was racing, and my body felt like it was shaking apart. I couldn't believe what was happening. One minute we were safe in our room, and the next, tear gas was filling the air and we were jumping out the window. I thought for sure we were going to die. And now, I was standing here, alone and vulnerable, while he went off to face God-knows-what. I felt like I was going to throw up. I wrapped my arms around myself, trying to hold myself together, and prayed that he would come back to me soon. The place I was standing was a good distance away from the building, but I could hear the chaos behind me. The loud gunshots, screaming, thick smell of blood…Just how many enemies infiltrated the place? I know he wasn't a normal person, sure, he was a leader in his world, but what title does he hold? I had so many questions racing through my mind, but one thing was certain: he was someone important to this fami

"What are you doing?!” The lady looked startled, “I'm getting him ready for his bath.” My frown deepened, she didn't see anything wrong in what she just said. My gaze drifted to my savior's face. His lips were curled, he seemed to be enjoying this. “Oh, carry on.” I went to sit on a couch, pretending not to care, but the more I saw what was going on, the more my intestine burned. Why do I care that a maid was doing her job? No! I screamed internally when she started to unbuckle his belt. His gaze was still on me, this time, his brow was lifted. I gritted my teeth and remained sitting. But just as his trousers were about to be undone, I bolted up. “Leave, I'll finish the rest.”The maid was surprised, probably thinking what my status was to order her around but she didn't move from her spot, making my forehead crease. Would I be here, beside her boss if I were a random stray? Can't she think with her head? “You didn't seem to hear me. I said, take your claws off my man!” my wor

Rena’s POV. I woke up at dawn to find myself alone on the big bed. Remembering what happened last night, I didn't know if I should be angry. I waited and waited for him to come out of the bathroom but he didn't. And in the end, I fell asleep. Remembering we had somewhere to be today, I got down from bed to take my bath. Coming out shortly, I found him sitting on the couch. I froze, my eyes fixed on him as he stared blankly at me, his expression unreadable. He was dressed in a black shirt and black pants… he's never worn anything other than that. The passionate scene from last night crashed into me, and I felt my cheeks burning pink. "Good morning," I said, trying to sound casual, but my voice came out a little too soft than I intended. He didn't reply. Instead, he rose from his seat and walked up to me. My chest drummed harder with every step he took. “My morning isn't good, Rena.” My heart dropped. Was he hurt? Damn me! I didn't even check on him last night. He used

  • Snatched By The Don: My Enemy's Father    Just Like Her Husband

Kaan~Five years.Five goddamn years. I built an empire in that time. United the mafia families under my rule, spilled rivers of blood to become the overlord of Italy's underworld. Those politicians, businessmen, bankers, and demons who pushed Pablo to go against me, I made them all bleed. Slit their throats one after the other. I made men kneel, buried traitors, burned cities. And my name clawed its way to the most ruthless and most feared Overlord in history. I did it all, for her. For them. But no crown, no throne, no victory ever filled the void her silence left. And now… now the silence was broken. The moment I got the call, my heart stopped. She was awake, the doctor said. Just two words, but they shattered me more than any bullet ever could. I drove like a madman, ignoring every red light, every law, every rule except the one screaming in my chest: Get to her! The guards at the hospital entrance stood aside without a word. They knew better than to stop me. I stormed through

Alessia~They say you don’t hear the bullet that kills you.But I heard it.Not in the way of metal ripping through flesh – but in the silence before it. The moment the world goes still. When your heart finally realizes it’s run out of reasons to beat. That’s what I felt when I heard Kaan had taken Pablo’s head.He came for us like death with a vendetta. A storm that remembered every name. A god, bleeding but unbroken. I should’ve known he’d survive. I should’ve known love wouldn’t be enough to kill a man like him.Because I tried. God help me, I tried.I loved him once. Maybe I always did. But you can’t love a storm and expect to stay dry. You can’t want the throne and the king. And I wanted it all. That’s what ruined me.We’re hiding in what’s left of the Castellano estate. It’s nothing now – cracked walls, shattered marble, the perfume of gunpowder curling through the halls like incense for the dead. My people are scattered. My second-in-command is missing. And I have a bullet lodg

Kaan ~He holed up in a countryside villa near Caltanissetta, surrounded by luxury and fools. It was almost funny. He always thought money made him untouchable. Now, he hid behind marble walls while my soldiers scale them like wolves. We breach the gates in under three minutes.I stormed the hall myself – gun in one hand, machete in the other. Pablo’s men scatter like insects. I killed three before they could blink. Matteo dropped the guards near the staircase. Blood slicked the floors. Screams echoed off the high ceilings.Pablo tried to run but I seized him by the throat. He said a lot of jargon, but I only asked one question:“Who went after my family?”Without hesitation, he gave her up. “Alessia! It– It was her doing. I tried to talk her out of –”I drove the machete through his chest. I didn't care about his nonsense. I watched the horror in his eyes, the regret, and remorse. But it was too late. He should have listened when I warned him. Two down, one more to go. *******Pabl

Kaan ~He didn't speak. He was brave. But not brave enough. “Bang!” I put a bullet through his kneecap.“Ahhh!!” He screamed like a pig on a butcher table.“I’ll ask once more.”His lips tremble. “The Al…I don’t know her name, just…the Alessandro woman and Pablo. They brought maps. Codes. Said they had someone close to Ferrente feeding intel.”I already knew. But hearing it confirmed the truth I’d been avoiding.“I want every man vetted. Every file reviewed. If they’ve looked at me wrong in the last year, I want their head on my desk,” I snarl at Matteo. He nodded, his face paled. He was scared of me, I could see it. I take one last look toward the sea, where the fog has swallowed the horizon whole. You want a war, Alessia? You’ll choke on it.… We burned the docks by morning. No more shadows for the Vipers to hide in. No more Alessandro scouts weaving through cargo yards under the flag of smoke. The flames licked the sky like a beacon. But victory tasted like ash when you knew it

Kaan~I was halfway to Catania when the call came in.One ring.Two.Then silence. It wasn’t unusual. Not for men like me. Sometimes silence was safer. Cleaner. But something in my gut twisted the wrong way. Something colder than instinct, sharper than a blade. I stared out the window of the moving car, watching Sicily blur past. Then the second phone rang – the one no one was supposed to use, except one person. I picked it up immediately.“Soni?”Her voice was cracked glass. Choked with dust. “D– Dad…?”My blood froze. “Talk.”“They bombed it. The villa. It's – it’s all gone.”Everything stopped. My lungs. My pulse. The world. “What?”“I got her out. B– but Rena…. She… she's receiving medical care. We’re in the tunnels now.”“Turn the car around!” I barked the order. My driver didn’t even ask. He saw my face, and the fear in his eyes was answer enough.“Who did this?” I asked, voice low. I already know. It couldn't have been anyone but Pablo. “Dad?” she called. “Burn them to the gr

Rena~I knew something was wrong. When he kissed my forehead and my stomach, I was awake. But I didn't stop him from leaving. I knew it was important. I knew that to build a safe haven for our child, he needed to weed the poison out of the roots first.Still, when the door clicked shut and his footsteps faded into silence, my chest felt hollow.I rolled onto my side, placing a protective hand over my still-flat belly as I strained myself to get the note he left for me. It was a lullaby. I chuckled despite myself, because I couldn't tell if it was for me or our baby. But either way, I read it aloud, softly, my voice cracking with emotion."Little light in darkest night,Rest your soul, the world’s alright.Though I walk through storms and flame,My heart returns when you whisper my name."I pressed the paper to my lips, breathing in his scent faintly lingering on it. The tears came quickly - warm and silent - because it was for both of us. And because I knew what it meant. He was walk

Kaan~She looked at me like the whole world had just changed. And it had.The doctor’s words echoed over and over in my mind, warping time itself.Pregnant.My Little cat, my woman, my wife, was carrying my child.I couldn’t move at first. Couldn’t speak. I just stared at her, at the disbelief and wonder lighting up her beautiful face. The soft shine in her eyes. The tears she didn’t try to hide. And suddenly, nothing else mattered. Not the blood I’ve spilled. Not the empire I built. Not the war that was still waiting just outside the hospital walls.None of it.Only her.Only this moment.I dropped to my knees before her and laid my hands over her belly like it was holy. I bowed my head – not because I was defeated – but because I was undone. By her. Rena~His mouth was fire. His hands were everywhere. He pressed me down into the sheets like he was afraid I’d vanish if he let go. I could feel it - his desperation, his need, his relief. My robe fell open. His shirt followed. The space between us became airless.“I thought of you every night,” he whispered, voice hoarse. “I counted the days.” I said as my fingers desperately worked on his belt. Even after I was discharged from the hospital, he didn't touch me, afraid he'd hurt me. But it's been almost two weeks and I couldn't wait anymore. “You didn’t lose count?” His lips curled, his nose brushing against mine. “No. I carved each one into my bones.” The sound of his belt leaving his trousers as I pulled filled the air. He froze above me, eyes darkened, full of something dangerous and tender. “Say it again.”“I missed you,” I whispered. “I missed you so much, it hurt. I thought I'd die.”He kissed me. Pablo~They were all fools. The mayor. The other dons. Even Kaan, with his clean-cut suits and those sharp, unforgiving eyes. He thought peace could be bought with threats and forced surrender.I chuckled. The fool didn’t know we were already sharpening the knives, waiting impatiently to butcher him. The general meeting ended at dusk with Kaan’s agreement for a ceasefire, rebuilding the city, and unity for Sicily’s sake. The mayor looked like he'd die if Kaan didn't agree. And when the idiot did, the Mayor was like a newlywed, married for love. Stupid. It was comical. Kaan looked smug when Alessia stood and bowed her head to him, declaring surrender, begging him not to hurt her clan. What a performance, what a laughable joke. Everything made me laugh. Honestly, I couldn't stop laughing, even now. That bitch played him. She baited him. And the so-called almighty Kaan fell for it. “Hahahaha…!… We met an hour later in an abandoned stone chapel on the outskirts of Trapani. The per
