Chapter 85

Brian's POV:

After being sedated, Kelsey fell asleep. I covered her with a blanket and couldn't help but kiss her cheek softly. Kelsey seemed to sense it, her brows furrowing slightly, then the corners of her lips lifted into a small smile.

'Why didn't I realize how pretty she was before?' I wondered.

A knock on the door to my room interrupted my thoughts. The obnoxious knock on the door kept ringing. More annoying is that I'm afraid it will disturb Kelsey's sleep. I grabbed my hastily dressed shirt and hurried out to open the door. Lisa stood in front of my room and closed it; even though I didn't do anything to her, Lisa still couldn't hide her hesitation when she met me.

Even so, she decided to stay here to take care of Kelsey. No matter how well I care for Kelsey, there are things I can't do, like changing her clothes and cleaning her for a few days. So I allowed Lisa to stay here.
