Hannah’s eyes dilated with those sparkles. She felt a good shiver. Her heart skipped a beat. Her eyes met Ian Marquiss. She had been into him since 6th Grade and throughout high school. She spied on him and loved him. Now, it was her chance. She’s his real mate!
“Ian,” She called. She’s been in love with him ever since they were in 6th Grade. He was on and off with his girlfriend Valerie but they finally had a chance at 7th Grade. However, everything went downhill when it was just a bet. It was the most painful betrayal she had ever had. Not just by the man she loved, but also by the friends she was with. A hopeful look in his eyes when Ian looked at her with the same sparkle. But then, his eyes turned into a glare. He looked at her from head to toe. She knew instantly… Those eyes reveal his true emotions. Right. He was already taken. He had this perfect mate and she’s just nothing. Ian pulled his arm as she was taken aback further. Reality hits her. How can she feel this when she’s a werewolf without a wolf? Right, she was different. She was like a human born into a werewolf family. He tilted his head sideways and looked at her again from head to toe. She felt like her whole body and soul had been judged. The disappointment in his eyes and the most painful was disgust. She was used to all of the looks of disappointment toward her. She hadn’t shifted, yet she recognized her mate. Now, her mate didn’t say anything like she didn’t exist. “Ian, please say something.” She whispered. “Hannah,” Ian scoffed. “Are you on this again? I told you. 7th Grade was just a bet. You are not that beautiful now. But you were. Also, we are not fit to be together.” He said it with those harsh sarcastic words as he managed to be calm. Yes, she remembered. They were betting in exchange for a kiss on the cheeks that he would tease her as he kissed her on the lips. Their friends were filming at that time. She was so in love with him. It was until then that the supposed ex-girlfriend came, crying and screaming at her, calling her slut in front of many students. Then, she attacked her with her claws but Ian managed to catch her while her other friend protected her. A male friend protected her immediately and so Ian took his real girlfriend away. A smirk on his face as he left while she was crying and didn't have an appetite to eat. She thought that she had the best birthday. It was the 3rd day of February just a day after her birthday. She had ideas to finally go on a date on Valentine with Ian but it shattered just in a day. She always remembered it. As years passed by after that, she couldn’t be happy just after her birthday, even on her birthday. She was traumatized that another prank might happen on the third day of February. She scoffed as she nodded. “Right, you were still an asshole.” “Babe!” Valerie called and scooped his arm. She then looked at her from head to toe. She was perfect, tall, slim figure, and beautiful skin like a model, wearing the hottest bikini. “You again. You should be grateful that I didn’t have scars on that ugly face of yours.” “Let’s go,” Ian said and took a good look at her with disgust. Both of them didn’t expect that Valerie would grab a handful of sand and throw it at her face. She managed to close her eyes but some got into her eyes. She covered her face as she felt them left. As soon as they left, the tears that were forming in her eyes quickly rolled down to her cheek while she was removing the sand from her face. She blinked many times as tears rolled down. It was blurred when she saw their back and Valerie was laughing. She managed to get to the faucet nearby to wash her face, but even though she managed to wash her face and neck off, tears continued running down her tears. She reached her chest and realized that she was rejected in a very painful way. Silent rejection. She’s been waiting for this time to come in her whole life. But not to be treated like trash, but to meet her mate and be loved. However, is this bad karma? Or was she just being hated by the Goddess?Ian… her first-ever love. She was right to love him and wrong to fall for it. For him, it was just a game. Even these mates-thingy… the shitty soulmates thing was a lie. She didn’t realize that she had raised her hand while trying to get the sand off her eyes trying to reach him out, but her whole body didn’t move.
This was supposed to be a happy night. She had graduated college, and she should be drinking with her classmates to have fun. But this is such a heartbreaking graduation gift. She headed to the beach as her tears continuously flowed, and her heart kept on shattering. Her whole body also seemed to be in pain. She tried to drag her feet and body away from the crowd. The pain in her chest was a pain right through her soul. Her chest was so tight that it was hard for her to breathe.
“Why do~~why do you always have to hurt me like this?” She covered her mouth as she continued crying, tears streaming down her cheeks. She tried to catch her breath as she continued sobbing.
She blames it all on the Gods and the Goddesses above. She blamed it on the people who created her and that she had to live her life just to be in pain. “Ian…” She muttered. “Ian… rot in hell.” She gritted her teeth. The pain was mixed with anger and despair.“Hannah!” Her friends called. She tried to calm down. “Hannah!” She sniffled and wiped off her tears which continuously flowed. She stood weakly. Half of her soul was dead from the rejection and even now, her wolf wasn’t even there to help her. Or she was just hoping to have a wolf although she knew that deep inside, she won’t be like them. A werewolf shifter. But she knew that she'd be even more in pain if she had a wolf. At least it will be just the heart to bear all of the pain. “You shouldn’t go there looking like a mess.” A tall man probably at her age or probably older, someone chubby but with a handsome voice said. He handed out a towel. “Don’t worry, I haven’t used it. Free to use it.” She hesitated as she looked up at his puffy face. He’s cute. Someone who might like her but somehow, with her broken heart, she knew that she was just vulnerable. “Thank you.” She mumbled in a hoarse voice. He sighed and turned back and she wiped her tears and snot. “I’ll wash this and gi
Hannah looked at the mirror as she frowned at her face. Pimples break out. She tried to cover it up. To at least look presentable. But then, she remembered well how stressed she’s been lately. Paying rent, trying to even send back money to her family. Eating too much sugar. She exhaled as she just put the ointment on after cleaning up her face. She can’t wear makeup or any foundation. She doesn't even know how to put makeup on. She prepared now and put a light lipstick on. Then, she headed out and sat down in front of her cubicle desk and put her headset on to prepare for the online meeting. “By tomorrow’s meeting, we will be greeting the General manager.” Her boss, Mr. Fabian Marshal said. She’s just a lowly clerk but there will be other things going on. Her boss was already giving her a hard time yet he’s very supportive and he’s a great leader. “Hannah, prepare for everything. Our New General Manager, Boss Reid will be very strict.” “On it, sir.” She said as she was making sure
Wondering how that man’s other half felt after he marked his mate, made him furious. She’s fragile. She’s kind… He clenched his fist as he also felt that pain in her chest but he remained like a stone. The disappointment and hurtful words she said were forever printed in his head. “Alpha, are you well?” His Aide asked as he placed the medicine in front of him. “Please drink this. Last night, did it fade a little bit?” “It did.” He smiled. “I need another bottle for this.” “Yes, sir.” He fixed himself up with a nice smart casual suit. Then, he headed out to his car. It was just a few blocks from his penthouse, but he needed to use a car since it was scorching hot outside. He stopped upon seeing the working-hard girl. Petite, a little curvy and she’s walking briskly with her earphones on while holding a lot of paper bags from takeout. He quickly got out of his car when it stopped traffic. Then, he took his briefcase. “Sir…” “I’ll get off here.” He said as he messed his hair a bi
RJ was friendly. But her heart was at stake. She can’t fall in love just because she’s hurt and lonely. She can’t fall for that handsome man at all. She has no confidence in herself or love. Because she knew, it would only give her pain. The disappointment in their eyes was already too much to bear and rejection was already killing her. What more if she falls in love and learns that she was just a second choice? She chatted with the team as she had already taken their orders and her friend who was also on their team was busy with calls. She went back to RJ’s office and told him what they ordered and he moved closer to her as somehow, his sexy scent caught her. She wanted to move away to get away from temptation and dirty thoughts of him. He had his arms crossed while nodding. “You can now check it out.” He said as she checked it out and handed it to him. “Wait, what’s your order?” He asked with furrowed brows. She thought for a while. “I forgot about that…” He frowned. “Oh, your
She had called out the team for lunch and some were still finishing things up. Some probably were shy enough to dine with their big boss. She went to the bathroom with her kit and went directly to the cubicle. She threw up unexpectedly as she felt dizzy. She sat on the clean floor and reached her chest. She exhaled as she stayed for a while and she finally flushed the toilet and cleaned the toilet seat. She went to the sink and washed her mouth and face. She wiped her face clean as she rummaged through it and put a moisturizer on. Once she’s settled, she heads to her chair and puts her purse in her bag. “Hannah,” Reid called. “Everyone is waiting.” “Oh, sorry.” She said as she went with Reid to the conference room. They seemed to be all having fun. “Hannah, I got you a seat,” Rose called as she approached her and they all settled down. Somehow, she could feel RJ’s gaze at her as they thanked their boss for the treat. “Let’s have a meeting this afternoon, Hannah can you set up fo
The meeting went well. Somehow, the new drug that the doctor gave had made her feel better. The pain is gone and she had presented all of the reports perfectly. “Okay, for the upcoming convention in Westeros, Fabian and Hannah… also Rose, will go with me. It's a one-week convention and I think the rest will handle the tasks. Team leaders take charge.” Reid said as he finalized everything.“And I need an assistant to visit the following events at another branch.” He said and checked out. “Hannah can handle it, Reid,” Fabian suggested. “Rose can cover up?” Fabian asked Rose who nodded. Hannah has never been on any business trip and she wasn’t Reid’s assistant. She’s Fabian’s analyst in his area but why her? “Great, you can handle the flights and hotel arrangements. You can speak with Karol about that as well.” Reid said and his phone rang. “Excuse me.” he picked it up and left the room. “Sir, it’s not that I am complaining but, it should be Sir Reid’s assistant to assist him, right?
Days working with Reid weren't that easy at all. There are a lot of things to do and she has to go in and out of his office until Reid finally tells someone to place a table in his office. This is after two weeks of being trained as his analyst. Her position went up that quickly her contract was new and the pay was great. She also had her company phone and she won’t be just going to use a desktop but with a laptop for travel.Somehow, the drug seemed to work and she’s more focused on her work and the following events. She also coordinated with other department analysts to prepare for a lot of marketing events. Some were already making proposals and she reviewed it. Mostly, she learned from her boss Fabian. “Hannah, we’ve been sitting all day.” “Do you want me to fetch refreshment? I would gladly walk and enjoy the humidity outside.” Reid laughed as he nodded. He stood as he got his wallet. “Don’t bother, go get your wallet. I got the company credit card.” She raised it. “Sure,”
“My cats…” She mumbled. “Don’t worry about your cats. Just give me your house Key and I’ll have someone clean it up.” She tried to get up from the hospital bed but he pushed her down. “Oh, my best friend.” She mumbled. “My best friend was there. But she expected me to have dinner with her.” He sighed and looked at their family doctor. Doctor Markus. “She just needs some rest. Also, I think she needs to use contact lenses from now on.” He checked her eyeglasses. “And the drug works, but for now, you need to get enough nutrition. More protein for your body.” “I don’t need much of it. I’m not a shifter.” “It doesn’t matter if you are a shifter or not. But would you consent to check on your blood so I could give you the right medicine?” She nodded and extended her arm. Reid was staying on the corner. He was pissed that she had thought of something else other than her health. Once the doctor was down, he approached her and lowered his head. “Now, now. I should cancel the trip tom
