Heidi stared at her phone, biting her fingernails, anticipating another text message from Grandpa Winston.

“You shouldn't force yourself, Heidi,” Kate said to her from the passenger's seat. “If you no longer want to go, I won't force you.”

“Heidi didn't say she doesn't want to,” Steve said from the driver's seat. “Besides, if you don't shop for new clothes, do you expect Heidi to wear her old clothes after we get married?”
