Chapter 23

“Oh, so that was it,” Hailey said with doubts. “But I didn’t expect him to thank me like that. Also, I forgot to charge my phone last night, so it probably ran out of battery.”

“How could we accept this?” Finn noticed nothing unusual about her words and proceeded further.

“At first, we knew nothing about this either, the doctor just said my room was changed. It wasn’t until then that we realized how beneficial the change had been. When we asked the doctor to change it back, he responded he had no say in the matter. And the regular rooms are completely full, someone else took immediately my previous bed when I changed rooms.”

He sighed. “Please talk to him, we appreciate the offer, but a few days of such luxury are enough. Being in the hospital for so long wouldn’t benefit me if I owed him a big favor. Also, ask him to help us find a space in the regular rooms so I can change back.”

Hailey thought, “It was probably Travis Blake’s orders. Is this one privilege that comes with being his
