“Black and white?” Denver couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Did his daughter really want a written document between them?

“I don’t believe you,” said Hailey. “The Halliwell family now knows that my mother and I only received three hundred thousand. You should consider this carefully.”

Denver felt like someone had opened his chest and taken out a piece of his heart, and he clung to the pain he felt as he reluctantly said, “Well, if you want a written document, we’ll do it.”

Estella seemed to want to say something else, but she swallowed her words with difficulty when José gave her a warning look.
