“If you hadn’t been his wife, then I wouldn’t have been your daughter, right?” Hailey had recently regained her composure.

Pretending an air of indifference, she continued, “You have done nothing wrong at all. I’m grateful that you brought me into this world. Don’t worry, I’m fine now. The Halliwell family hasn’t given me any trouble. Today, even Grandma declared she would provide me with a monthly allowance. Now, I have some things to take care of on my own. I’ll call back some other day.”

For a long time after the call ended, Eva remained kneeling on the floor, silently crying. What a useless woman she was! She lost her husband due to an affair. And then, once her daughter had grown up, those two returned to drag her into hell.
