"Talie, are you here?" I heard Alpha call.

I flinched out of my gaze that was on the old woman and stared at Alpha. He gave my hand a gentle squeeze, his lips pulling up into a small smile.

"Yeah, yeah. I was just appreciating the view around me," I said.

I tried to look at her again, but she was gone. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. I didn't want to worry Alpha by telling him about this piece of information. Our day was already going pretty well. "Can I use the bathroom?" I asked him.

"Sure, I'm sure there should be one around. Should I come with you?"

"No, no, no, I'm fine," I said sharply, trying to bring my voice down to avoid raising any suspicions. "I'm good, don't worry about it."
