Waylen was still ignoring me. The incident with Fumi’s car happened thirty hours ago, and in those times, I had called and texted him a dozen times, but all the calls went to voicemail, and the texts were unanswered.

I shook my arms to rid them of the tension building in my joints. Elizabeth was in her office. My phone buzzed on the desk. The call ended before I could pick up my phone, and a message entered. It wasn’t from Waylen but Ansgar. I told him about the accident over the phone last night and put him in charge of getting the police report. Something must have triggered the explosion. Something or even someone.

Kane might have answers, but I couldn’t contact him because I was yet to update the report. I had no intentions of doing that and needed to find a great excuse before the next meeting. I replied to Ansgar’s text, letting him know he could visit the office.
