Chapter 70

Vicky stirred and groaned for the third time in a row. Her phone kept beeping and she hated it. She hates for her sleep to be disrupted. The thing she hated most was to be woken up when she had no intention of getting out of bed.

Flicking her eyes open, she eyed the phone and threw it across the room, a shattering sound followed as she pulled the duvet back on her body. She stared at the clock on the nightstand as the seconds ticked away in her mind. 7 a.m. She hissed and closed her eyes to go back to bed when the door barged open and her mother stormed into the room, looking horrified like she had seen a ghost.

"Vicky, get up." She said, her voice rising above the shrillness of panic. "You need to see this."

"Go away , Mom. I am still sleeping." She muttered, covering her head with her pillow as she tried to block out the noises her mother was making.

"Get up, Vicky. You have to." The woman cried out, pulling the duvet away from her body and shoving the phone on her face, "see!"
