2024-12-30 09:49:54Breonna could not speak or move. She was stunned and trying to find the words. Enza giggled at her sister's reaction. She could not remember a time when her talkative sister ever lost the ability to form words. " You..you..you..are pregnant?" Breonna stuttered. "Enza? Why would you not tell me?" Breonna ask her with hurt evident in her voice. A tear escaped from her eyes and rolled down her cheek. Breonna took a few steps from Enza then turned her back to her. It seemed that since Enza met her mate that she had forgotten about her.
It was bad enough that she missed her sister's wedding, now this. She had never met her brother in law. She haven't seen her sister in months. She had not even met the members of her pack. She turned to look at Enza with anger obvious in her eyes. "Enza, are you ashamed of me?" She asked. In her mind, that was the only explanation to as why her sister was keeping her away.
Enza's own hurt flashed in her eyes, "How could you think such a thing Breonna?" She asked. Breonna started to feel the anger being replaced by hurt. "You don't include me in anything anymore. You keep me away!" She snapped. She paced back and forth in the room. Enza was unusually quiet which made her even more suspicious of her recent behavior. Breonna turned to glare at Enza. "So? If you are not ashamed of me, then what's going on?" Breonna snapped.
Enza shifted a bit in her seat before she began to speak, "Breonna, I didn't hide my pregnancy from you. The truth is, I only just found out." Breonna looked at her round belly and raised a brow not quite believing her, "So, did you think you swallowed a huge melon in your sleep and did not remember it." Breonna said sarcastically. Enza rolled her eyes at her younger sister. "Don't be a smart ass."Enza said. "Three weeks ago I did not have this belly." Enza patted her round belly. Breonna looked genuinely shocked, "Seriously?" She asked. Enza chuckled, "Don't look so horrified little sis."Enza told her. "Werewolf pregnancies only last three months." Enza said.
Breonna sat down with an exasperated look on her face, "Enza, does it ever frustrate you?" She asked her sister. Enza raised a brow, confused by the statement that seemed to come from nowhere. "what are you talking about?" Enza asked. She watched as Breonna stood up and began to pace, "They tell us nothing and hide us from everything." Breonna said. " I am looking at you with your beautiful belly and not really sure how you became pregnant." She said, not hiding her frustration.
Enza took a deep breath, "You know that we are not supposed to discuss these things." She said. "But why not? Its not as if we are children anymore." Breonna said. Enza gave a knowing smile to her sister," I don't think you are unaware as you claim. You only want to know about the one thing we were not told about." Enza said with a knowing look. "Let's be honest, you hate the fact I may know something you don't." Enza said with a smile.
A small smile ticked in the corner of Breonna's lips. "Maybe you are right." Breonna said with a bigger smile. "So?" Breonna asked impatiently. Enza gave her a mischievous smile. "Soo...what?" Enza teased. Breonna squeezed beside Enza on the small chair. "TELL ME." She said with pout. Enza turned to face her and giggled.
It had been a very long time since they had just talked. It felt very good to share their thoughts and secrets. For over an hour Breonna asked her sister everything that she ever wondered about. Especially on the subjects of sex and mates. Enza's face had often turned red with embarrassment, but she answered her questions anyway.
When Breonna had every question she could think of, she flashed a happy smile. Obviously her thoughts were filled with mates and romance. She stooped in front of Enza and grabbed her hands. "What do you think he may be like? Is he handsome? Is he powerful, "Breonna asked excitedly. In her excitement, she missed the anger that flashed in Enza's eyes. She quickly hid it with a smile.
"I have no way of answering those questions." Enza said. She looked directly to Breonna with a serious look on her face. "Sister, just know that everyone may not find their mate. You can live a happy life without finding yours."Enza said. This time Breonna did not miss the harsh tone her sister had when discussing her potential mate. "Are you okay Enza? Don't you want me happy? "Breonna asked. Enza forced a smile. "Of course I want you happy."Enza said. Although Enza words said one thing, it was obvious by the look on her face that it was something troubling her. There was something about Breonna's search for her mate that made Enza very uneasy.
Breonna knew her sister well. She also knew how stubborn she could be. The fact was that Enza was keeping something from her. Whatever she was keep was keeping from her had to do with her mate. She was not gonna push the issue, but she would find out sooner or later.
