Chapter 435

"Of course! Angie's my daughter," Jessica said as she turned to trim another plant.

There was no telling if she'd remembered the past or if she was just saying she'd agreed to adopt Angeline like Robert had told her to.

Angeline saw Robert playing chess with a tall, handsome young man by the window when she entered the villa. The young man wore a neatly pressed shirt and trousers. He fiddled with a black chess piece as he contemplated his next move.

Robert was also focused on the chessboard. There was a hint of a smile in his eyes. He seemed pleased that he had a worthy opponent.

A maid showed up with some tea for Robert. She was about to greet Angeline when the latter gestured for her to hand over the tray and fruit platter. She wanted to bring it to Robert and the guest.

Robert had already heard the maids greeting Angeline as soon as she entered the villa. He secretly observed the man before him and didn't say anything when he saw how focused the man was.
