Chapter 25

Claire's POV

I felt a sharp, twisting pain in my lower abdomen as I woke up, a familiar sign that her period had begun.

“Ugh, why now?!" I hit my legs repeatedly on the bed in frustration.

I sighed, knowing it was going to be a rough day and week.

I tried to ignore the discomfort and go about my usual morning routine, but the cramps grew more intense with each passing minute.

I walked to the bathroom, each step sent a jolt of pain through my body. I reached for a heating pad and some painkillers in the bathroom cabinet, hoping they would bring some relief.

I lay back down on my bed, clutching the heating pad to my stomach and wincing. The warmth helped a little, but the cramps were relentless, making it hard to think about anything else.

“I guess I'll have to delay my bath this morning.” I sighed heavily.

I felt a wave of exhaustion wash over me at an instant. My body ached, my head throbbed, and all I wanted to do was curl up and sleep.
