Chapter 3

The boy, Joe who happens to be Nai Victim Approach Officer Barack Ajoba.

a local Chief security officer of the town.

He was very annoyed by what happened after he was knocked out by a pervert.

after he was delayed, for some time he was invited in.

"state your business" said Barack

"I was attacked this morning, by a naked Pervert." he reported and Barack scoff in laughter.

"a naked pervert, your description is vague, can you make it clearer." Barack said

"a boy, attacked me and stole my clothes, he did the same about three days ago, where he stole my cardigan" Joe said

Barack nodded, three days earlier the vendor reported a boy now another report of a boy.

Is there an alien in ghana?he thought.

"if we brought an artist, can you detailed out the face of this boy you spoke of." Barack asked

"yes very well..."

"alright, Get the artist to come here and sketch out a criminal." he instructed one of his officer

Jessica wakes up in the hospital, her gorgeous eyes were wide opened and there Alfred sitting at the corner, reading the comics of the Justice League.

He turn over to the next page while he took a glance at her, he thought she just moved. Guessing right, she is awake.

she drop the book and walked to her.

"hey angel! Doctor said you will be fine." he said

"How long have I been here?" She asked

"today makes it the second." Alfred answered as she groaned out and adjusted to sit up right.

"You collapsed at work, prediction might be from stress. I am sure you are okay now." Alfred added

She stand up and look around, her cardigan was hanged at the corner, how thoughtful of Alfred.

she wear it and head towards the exit, when Alfred halts her stepping out.

"wait!" he said

"the doctor said..." he tries as she obstruct his words.

"forget what the doctor said okay" she said almost yelling.

"right" Alfred murdered and they both walked out, while they meet with Kwame, a Managing Director and founder Kwame Plantation.

He was Jessica's father, a man of his age with invisible grey beard.

He walked to Jessica and hold her, a gesture that shows it has been a while the two have talked.

No smiles from Jessica even knowing Mr. Kwame was her dad.

"I am so sorry for coming late, I just clear the bills with the doctors. I will be glad to drive you home." said Mr Kwame

"Good morning sir." Alfred greet him to feel acknowledged

"My apologies young man, I was so concerned about her. what is your name again?" he asked offering a handshake?

"Alfred sir." Alfred answered

"I guess I owe you on this one." MR Kwame replied and Alfred received his hands with honor.

"At all sir. Now that she is fine, I guess it is better you take good care of her. she need rest." said Alfred.

"exactly, thank you son." MR Kwame appreciate

Alfred looked at Jessica and hold her hands, she looked at him and smile.

"I am gonna go, daddy is here!" Alfred said as Mr. Kwame gestured by nodding in agreement with his teeth opened. Alfred peck her cheek and rubbed her shoulder with a tap to it. He bows to Mr Kwame who blessed him with a laid of his palm to his back.

Jessica walked out as her father walked alongside.

The Vendor Residence

Gracie opened the door to her apartment, and she calls for her dad.

"Dad!" she called

"Gracie you have only one thing to do! " Sounds like the Vendor voice from background. "Open the store" he added as Gracie walked in the kitchen.

Nia was in the sitting room, examining the color and decorative corner of the room.

"Seriously I can lose customers for coming late" said the Vendor

Gracie walked out with food in a bowl, she walked to Nia and give it to him, he collected it and eat it with his hands. plates contains Beans cooked with crayfish. He eat the delicacy with pleasure, the Vendor walks out and sees his daughter and Nia recognising him, he flashes of back to how Nia throws him the other day he stole his fish.

"you" he said while locating for his local rifle, Gracie stops him as he reached for it.

"Dad put the gun down." she said blocking her father.

"Get out of my view, let me kill this bastard." he said

"what has he done to you. you don't even know him" she said

Nia stands on his feet as he knows what is going on, he looks at the Rifle and couldn't make a sense of it. The girl Gracie is stopping him the man,(who of course he remembers and didn't think him of a threat.) He felt the odd in the atmosphere. Now he can see danger, he steps back when Gracie held the gun in her father's hand trying to save Nia. The rifles got shot by mistake.

Nia heart Skip as the bullet went straight beside him, he could now make a sense even that could kill him. he growled and charged at the vendor.

"He saved my life today dad!" She said

"pervert, he is a.... what did you say?" he asked

"He saved my life" Gracie repeat

"But he was the boy who tried to..." said The vendor as he cracked his voice

"tried to kill you, I know. but he didn't, did he?" said Gracie

"His name is Nia and doesn't look like he is from around her, he doesn't speak much English." she added

The vendor stand on his feet and look straight at Nai eyes, his eye balls was a bit coloured and different.

he recognized there are some beings with those type of sights. he walked to him and touch him while he was surprised to to see him.

"Unbelievable, The legend of the sea is back! why are you here!" he said

The police station

The artists was done sketching out Nai image exactly, the sketch was brought out to meet Barack.

"Is this the boy?" he asked

"exactly like this he looks like." Joe answered

"alright, drop your statement I will go on a search party and makes sure he is book." Barack promised

Kwame Residence

Jessica lay down on her bed, she can recall the shriek from the sea, the thought of what other kind of sea monsters could be out there in the water. while she was in deep thought the picture of Nai appeared in his German form, he was swimming towards her as two other were holding unto her leg.

Nai was diving in with a spear to his hand, she muffled in the water with great strict break lose. she opened her from fear.

it was a dream, she thought.

Catherine walked in after she peeped from the door to Jessica's room.

"hey baby girl" she acknowledged

"how are you? I heard you collapse, I hope all is well" Catherine asked

Jessica stand on her feet and walk to her wardrobe, she get her scarf and wear to her head.

"you can see I am fine and okay" She answered

"so where are you going? I saw your message about you telling me something" Catherine said

"Remember, the guy I told you about. the one I hit" Jessica begin

"yes I do" Catherine replies

"I need to show you something about him" She added 

She walked out alongside with Catherine and they drive to the Research.

The Research Office 

"I know you won't believe it, but I have to show you. this" Jessica said operating the computer system, it was displaying the videos and captures of what creatures in the sea.

She find out a file of the night she was in the sea with Nai. meanwhile the a cctv waterproof camera was recording during this scene, she opened it and played it for Catherine as she exclaimed and opened her mouth in disbelief.

"he went inside, I thought he was trying to kill himself and then he turn into..." she said as Catherine breaks in

"a fish" Catherine replied to her.

"Don't be silly cathie, he is a merman," jessica correct.

"Look, I hope he is long gone in the water, by if he is still on land, could it be the same thing that brought the fish brought him out. then I can't have him roaming in the street." Jessica said

"you are right, we can inform my dad, to hunt him out. This could be our time to discover what people have not.

This guy can be a multi-billion project to work one" Catherine suggested

"Don't you get it?" Jessica reacted disgust by her idea

"He is an aquatic being, he is meant to be protected not experiment on or exposed." Said Jessica

"so how are we to find this guy?" Catherine asked

"well the vendor was the man I recall to encounter with him. so let find him" Jessica answered

The Vendor shop

Nai followed them to the shop, and Vendor asked him a lot of questions which he hasn't provided answers to.

" I am Ajoba, call me the fish vendor. If you are not 20s then you must be a teenager." Ajoba began his sentence as Nai only reads his mouth.

"why are you here? is there war in the sea?" he asked

"war" Nai rephrased

"great" Said Ajoba he stands and pick some fish on a tray, and sliced it into pieces.

he carried it to Nai, who joyfully consume it with all eager, he miss eating a fresh fish.

Catherine and Jessica walked in the vendor's shop at first, sight was Nai sitting from far distance eating.

"what do you want?" Ajoba asked with anger

"sir, actually we came based on our research we..." Catherine begin

"I can't help you, Leave" Ajoba vibrates

"Sir" Catherine tries to convince him but Ajoba seems not to be ready to talk to him.

"I understand, you want to protect him, strange I am here to do the same. but this will help me and him also." Jessica said.

"what do you understand in him that makes you interested in him." Ajoba asked

"How did you know he was a thing of interest." Jessica asked

Ajoba looks at her and sees a scratch on the neck.

"he did that to you?" He asked

Jessica touched it, trying to hide her neck.

"I try saving him" she confessed

"in the water, they see you as prey"Ajoba explained

" what is your relationship with him" she asked him

"we will go back to the start, but if he is here, don't you think there will be others too." Ajoba said

"so why is he here?" Catherine asked

"let hope it is for good" Ajoba said

after much observation on Nai, he seems to have learn at least a bit of human ways of life, Catherine and Jessica will continue what they find out in their research if it can help Nai go back home.

The two walked out of The vendor's shop while he accompany them.

Barack and his partner were standing in front of them with a paper sketch of Nai.

" Dad?" Catherine called

"Catherine, why are you here?"Officer Barack asked

" Official Business" She answers while Barack nods his head

"okay, Vendor I came to see you." Barack asked

"yes" Ajoba answers

"Is this the bit who attacked you" Barack asked revealing the sketch. Ajoba glance at it and it was Nai picture. he nodded left and right.

"No, he is not, Beside I can't remember that face again." said Ajoba

"this boy attack a new neighbor and he is wanted for questioning, if you ever find him please report." said Barack giving Ajoba a copy as he collect it.

 He also gave his daughter Catherine who look at the picture as she walks with Jessica to the car.

meanwhile.......

The Beach

The merman swim out of the water, naked after transformation, they seems new to the environment.

one of them with a long golden Trident, as the trend on the sores. They met with a local Fisher man who is about going fishing.

"Hey how may I help you." he asked

The trident merman speared the Fisher man and point to the clothes, his naked followers glances at the cloth, which sent a message to them they need to find more.

The Fisher man's body was lifeless as it bled out and spirit draws out from him...

The Trident merman roars as it echoes into the night and into the woods.
