Chapter 2

Jessica walked out of the bathroom, her wet clothes were on the floor. Her eyeballs were affected from being exposed in the water.

She look at the mirror, and sighed down. The back of her neck revealed a scratch, she tried touching the open wound as she stimulate to the pain.

she look at the mirror not believing what she just saw, she started awkwardly at the mirror when the scene reveals back what she just encounter.

( FLASHBACKS)

Jessica dives into the water, she bubbles out air which she stops holding breathe.

she turns around looking for Nai.

a shrieking voice comes from behind her, she looks back and there a mystical and aquatic creature.

a beautiful marine; half human half fish.

'oh my God' she gestured from her reaction in the water, she turns back and swim up. The Creature shriek loud and went after her, Jessica was close climb up to plane ground.

she felt something grab her leg and waves her back in the sea.

good for her, she already inhale some air while try to escape out side the sea.

the creature dive in while grappling to her neck, she struggle to free her self from his grip. 

a force that scratches her neck, the creature held unto her while diving in on a sea path almost into the deep water.

Jessica reach for a stone, eventually luck was on her side, she waves her hand and hit the stone on creature's head.

An attack that is fatal enough to have kill it, especially beneath the water, pains are unbearable. The Creature faints unconscious as it falls down in the sea.

she looks at him and it was Nai the merman. She couldn't believe her eyes....

(ENDS OF FLASHBACKS)

 a knock came to her door as she snapped out of her memory. 

"Come in" she said

 A tall and heavily built looking man, he is handsome and physically fit. That is Alfred, she boy friend or her fiance, Alfred walked to her looking at her shirt on the ground.

"what is wrong, why is your clothes on the ground" she asked

"I am getting it

to laundry " she answered responding to him when he get closer and planted a kiss on her lips. they disengaged and she smile so pretty, from her eyes she look exhausted and tired.

"Troubles from the sea?" Alfred asked

"there is a lot to take in." she answered

He nodded as he went to the freezer and brought out a drink, with two cups and he pours.

"what about you?" She added

"well, My captain asked I remain in the pipeline, there has been rumours of bandits coming for oil exploitation in the oil bank." Alfred answer as he gave her a glass cup of wine

" isn't that dangerous than the water patrol.?" Jessica asked

"Well, it is just for a few weeks, I should return to patrols sooner or later." said Alfred 

     Jessica touched her scratch again and respond so sharply in pain this time

     "What happened to you Babe" he asks sitting beside her.. "You need to rest" He added

    . "Alfred...." She force the word out before going unconscious a second time.

     "Ohhh Man, this ain't good. I think am gonna rush you to the hospital, you can't die now" Alfred spurted out and within a few seconds have her rushed to hospital.

Alfred ID card fall on the ground, he was a military personnel, working on the affair and patrol on the sea. aka Navy.

Nai on the other hand wakes up at the bank of the sea, where he discovers he was naked.

He walked towards the street remaining naked, he people avoid him and some where calling the lunatic emergency line.

“hello one among you patients just escape from the insanity care unit, walking in the street of Accra naked” they reported

Nai wonders why people will just take a glace at him and covers their face, and people will just avoid him, he came to the realization that they are putting on clothing. He felt ashamed he is the one not putting on clothes. Why do they cover their nakedness? He thinks even the children too were laughing at him. 

Now he is having a feeling he is becoming a freak, he run holding the little one below him to give a good moment of race.

He accidentally enter in to a garden where he see that some clothes were dry under the sun, he removed them and wears it, even with the trouser. The owner was just a teenage freak like him.

“hey that is my clothe! Drop it you freak.” He said walking to Nai with anger. He threw at him a punch on reaching to him, Nai dodges that and grab the boy’s shirt, he waves him off the air, where  he landed on the entrance into his house. Nai observe him a moment as the boy groan. He was relieved, he then turn around and walked back to his destination.

Did he even know where he headed, he doesn’t seems lost. Going back to the sea is the problem. He cant return and he cant stay here. Else he will remain a trouble and the discussion of each day. Remembering what happened to him with the vendor, and what he did to Jessica in the water. Of course he cant blame himself on that, she was stupid of follow him, in the water she is prey, and he is the predator and his only instinct is only to hunt and kill.

A girl of his age was crossing the lane and she was carried away by her phone, Nai watch as a bus approach on a high speed. He thinks she knew, of course something big like that bus can kill a creature like him. He stood watching her as she crosses. Timely enough the bus was almost hitting her, the girl gasps out as she fall on green grass, while Nai was standing above her, the Bus was already on it ways after too much of heavy honk from it horn.

“Sorry I wasn’t concentrating, I had a little family stress.” She said as she stands up Nai couldn’t reply than to stare at her, and she couldn’t believe she as just being rescued. He is handsome, and muscled in his bit and fitting. She smiles at him and Nai was just staring with no smile, she realize she is not welcomed

“Thank you for saving me” she said stretching out her hand for handshake. “I am Gracie” she added

“Nai” He replied as Gracie awkwardly look at him, Nai stretch his hand to her she does, he doesn’t understand the mutual way human respect each other, Gracie understand He is not a kind that speaks either English or Ghanian. Then she correct his manner by grapping his palm and shakes with it.

Nai stomach rumbles even Gracie could  hear. ‘he must be hungry’ she thought.

“um why don’t you come to my house, I will get you something to eat.” She said

“eat” Nai rephrased

“yes” Gracie gestured with demonstration when her hand goes to her mouth while she chew.

She can read the excitement in his eyes

“eat” Nai phrased as they both walked together walking to he house
