Chapter 2

Allison

I was busy helping the omega in preparing our breakfast when my  Mom, the Luna called my name. 

"Ally, come here" she called.

"Just a second, mom" I replied in a loud voice. I am cooking pancakes, bacon and eggs, and sausage for breakfast. 

"Go on, Ally" we can take care of this, one of the omega said."It seems that the Luna will tell you something important" the omega added.

"Okay, Thank you" I replied and smiled at her. I wash my hands and dried them with a clean towel. 

I walked towards the living room of our home where the Alpha and Luna waiting.

They both smiled at me. I smiled and hugged them and they did the same.

"We received an invitation from The Lunar pack" my dad excitedly said.

"Invitation for a grand ball for all the mateless she-wolf, 18 and above." My mom answered.

My eyebrow knotted from what she said.

"And?" I asked them even I already knew their answer.

"And you're going" my dad replied.

I rolled my eyes at them, since I turned 18 a month ago, they always acted strangely. 

"You have to find your mate now, he will be the one to protect you," my dad said. I know what he meant.

My parents are the Alpha and Luna of the Dark wolf pack in the southern part of Europe, and the Lunar pack was the strongest and known to be a ruthless pack in the continent.

I smiled bitterly. "Why do I feel like you throwing me away" I scoffed at them before I pouted my lips.

"You know that it's not true" my dad replied. 

I hugged him. "Once, I found my mate, it means that I will leave you guys." I bitterly said.

"Come here, Princess," my mom said and wrapped me in her warm embrace. I looked at her beautiful face, those blue oceanic eyes that reflect her kindness give me warmth.

"You know that time will come that you have to leave and follow you're destined path directed by the moon goddess." She said. I hugged her tight. Then I felt a big callous hand added. It's my father. Alpha Arkin. 

"Your mate is the one who can only protect you, and we have to try. If the Alpha of Lunar pack is your mate, you will be in good hands," my father said. He looks at us lovingly. His aristocratic handsome and those deep black piercing eyes bored at me like he was sending a secret message. I nodded at him. 

"Okay, I will go to the grand ball but once the Alpha did something wrong to me, I am still going back here," I said with finality in my tone. Both of my parents nodded their heads.

"Alpha, Luna. Alli, the breakfast is ready" the omega said. 

"Let's go," my dad said. Mom and I followed him, I felt my mom gently squeeze my hand. I looked at her and we exchange smiles with each other. We seated ourselves to our seats and began our meal. This is our usual routine at home. 

We live separately from the packhouse, the Beta and Gamma families were living in the packhouse together with other mated warriors while unmated warriors and wolfs have their cabin inside the territory. It started when I was 6 years old, the first time I shifted into my wolf. At that very moment, the Alpha and Luna felt afraid when they saw my wolf so they decided to build our own house at the back of the packhouse for my safety. After that incident, the Alpha commanded me not to shift at any cost because it will cause fear and panic to our pack. And what's worst is once our enemy will find out my wolf's existence. My parents believe that my wolf is powerful and rare.

The Dark Wolf pack was an elusive small pack, we're living away from everyone. We hunt at night and we're hiding in shadows. That's why nearby packs and even rogues are afraid of attacking us. We are not a well-known pack unlike the others but we have great and strong fighters as well. At the age of 7, all pups were trained to kill and hunt in their human form, once they shifted in the age of 15 or 16, training in their wolf form began. We are untamed and the beast of the night.

My father was a great leader and well respected as well as my mother. But in the eyes of my pack, I was an eyesore because I didn't shift on my 16th birthday where all of my ages shifted and enjoyed the midnight run together with the Alpha and Luna, while I was alone inside my room. 

That time I wanted to shift and joined them, even my wolf Masha felt the same but my father commanded me in his powerful alpha tone not to shift. I was heartbroken and crying in tears that time while watching them running and howling in the woods. 

I knew that my parents love me but they had their duty as the leader of the pack. They just do it for my own good and for the pack.

I was born under the shadow of the red moon, many say that I was cursed that I wasn't able to shift but I just keep quiet. I know what I am capable of, my parents trained me since the day I shifted. They trained me to be the best fighter in my wolf form and human form. I grew up living alone with no friends and only Masha my wolf is always with me. My parents always bring me outside the country to let Masha run in the wild. They thought me how to kill and hunt. They even let me kill rogues when they spotted us during my training in the woods. In just seconds, all rogues were lying dead on the ground. See how badass, my wolf is.

After we had our breakfast Dad went to his Alpha office to attend his duties while mom went to the packhouse to visit the pack, she always made sure that all families were guided under our laws, all the establishments were taken care of like the packhouse infirmary and the orphanage. Part of her Luna duties.

I went back to my room. And lay in my bed.

"It is true that we are a curse?" I asked Masha, my wolf.

"No we're not, I believed we're special" She replied. 

I thank the moon Goddess for giving me Masha as my wolf even she was the reason why my parents hide me. I still love her, she's my best friend, my sister.

"Everything will be better, once we found our mate" she purred in my mind. I rolled my eyes at her.

"Don't ever roll your eyes on me, young lady" she scoffed. I chuckled. 

"I hope he will accept and love us the way my parents love each other," I told Masha. 

"of course, he will, and if he didn't. I will kill him" Masha said. I just shook my head from her outburst.

"You don't know why we're like this?" I asked her.

I saw Masha shake her wolf head inside my mind. "Selene stops talking to me since we shifted," she said. 

I sighed. That's one of my wolf's abilities she can communicate with the moon goddess Selene. 

"I hope she can talk to you so that we can have our answers" I replied.

"I wish that too," Masha said.

"Princess, I already got your dress for the grand ball. It's so beautiful just like you," my mom said through the mind link. 

"Thank you, mom" I replied to her. I can feel my mother's excitement but I don't reciprocate the same feeling to her.

"I will show you in a bit?" she added.

"Okay, mom," I replied.

I got off from my bed and walk towards my body mirror. I looked at the mirror. I saw a beautiful reflection of a woman with oceanic blue eyes, cherry red-like lips. Her beautiful face is framed with dark blonde hair. She has an hourglass figure that every male wolf in the pack admired. She stood up tall in her 5,5 feet height. She looks closely at her reflection in a mirror, her oceanic blue eyes turning to a fiery piercing eye, a magnificent burning fire living inside her eyeball. And that's a wolf eye that his father feared that anyone will find out. 

I closed my eyes when I heard a knock on my door. Then my eyes turned to its usual oceanic blue eyes.

I walk towards the door and saw my mother carrying a beautiful gown. It amazed me by its looks, it looks like it was made for me. I look at my mother's beautiful face. I saw the excitement in her eyes radiating in me.

"you will be the most beautiful she-wolf in the grand ball, my princess." my mother said.

I shyly smiled at her.

"Mom, I am afraid that my mate won't like me," I told my mom.

Luna Stella sat beside her daughter. She combed her dark blonde hair with her soft hands.

"That's impossible to happen, Princess. Our mate is the half of our soul, they will be incomplete without us" she explained. 

"I just thought that it will happen, especially if I won't be able to shift in front of him and shows my wolf" I replied. There's a bitterness in my voice.

My mom sighed. "Who told you, that you will not show your wolf to your mate?" my mom asked. I looked at her with confusion.

"I thought-" I haven't finished my sentence when mom cut me off.

"You thought that you will act like a human in front of your mate?" she asked again.

I nodded at him.

"Your dad and I mean is that you can let out Masha once you felt like your safe and your mate is deserving to know your secret" she added.

My face lit up from what she said. That means I won't able to hide anymore.

"But you have to consider his pack, he may accept you to be his mate but the pack will have their doubts, so you should earn their respect once you let Masha out," My mom said.

I nodded my head and smiled. I look towards my beautiful gown. 

Wait for me mate I mentally said.

I now feel the excitement for the incoming grand ball.

My mom left me once she saw I am okay. 

I still have three days before the grand ball. I daydream about what my mate looks like if he has those blue eyes like man or green eyes like the deep forest. Those broad shoulders, strong biceps and have those 6 pack abs. I squealed from what I imagine

"Whatever our might looks like, we will accept him," Masha said.

"of course, we will. We will be the best mate for him" I promised to Masha. Masha purred in my mind. 

I walked toward the window. I saw warriors half-naked while having their training. I saw pups playing around and laughing at each other. Once in my life, I felt envy. I never had that memory of my childhood. 

And soon I will leave this place once I found my mate. I smiled bitterly. Then I roamed my eyes inside my room. This was my haven for 18 years, a place where I laugh and cry. 

I deeply sighed. I wish forever I was a kid, no worries, no mate problems. Just laugh, play around, and enjoy the freedom.
