SEVENTY ONE

The next morning, Mary was surprised to find herself lying comfortably on the bed, she had remembered sitting on the chair and reading a book before she was eventually carried away by sleep. She could not even remember a line from what she read the previous night, it was such a pity that her effort to use the book to keep awake turned out to be futile.

She sat up and looked to the other side to find her novel closed and kept neatly on the bedside table, she wondered if it was Adonis that had come into her room and helped her lye comfortably on the bed. "well who else?" She rolled her eyes. "He probably finally got time from whoever it was he was texting on his phone and had time for me". She stood up from her bed to go look through the window, into the garden. She suddenly remembered that she had to serve Emma's coffee that morning, "I better hurry up before she gets mad at me".
